save me hackss4 premiere this week… hacks s4 save me
lol. lmao.
Hacks Finale Thoughts...
One thing I keep thinking is that they've set up a very clear way - perhaps the only way - that Deborah can properly save her relationship with Ava. Not just find a way to work together without killing each other, or find a way back to early season 1 tolerating each other, but genuinely save their bond and make it stronger. And that's by Deborah making a career sacrifice for Ava. Deborah is selfish and she is the MOST selfish about her career - in fact, she's not just selfish about it, she's addicted to it. If she gave up any part of it for Ava that would be the ultimate act of love. Ava's heartbreak is realizing that Deborah right now is prepared to defend bisexuals to the old boy's club, prepared to be vulnerable with Ava and ask her not to leave her in the woods, she's obviously moved when Ava supports her and believes in her but she STILL can immediately shove all of that aside the moment it's Ava versus her career. So do we have a career sacrifice coming from Deborah in order to save Ava? Maybe Ava writes some terrible problematic joke again and D takes the blame? Because when Ava is telling Deborah that she uprooted her life for her and "You'll never do that for me. You'll never do that for anyone" it seems clear that Ava is the ONLY one Deborah would ever sacrifice her career for. Do you think she will?

Chapter 3 of my Hacks Fic
Available here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/47608174/chapters/119990971
(Contains spoilers for Season 3)
3.08 Photograph by Jake Giles Netter/Max
"Having shame about the thing you want most in the world...
...isn't you." This CORRECT Ava, you tell her!
So is anyone else thinking that in the ending of season 3...
(spoilers for the first two episodes and speculation for the rest of the season below)
Do you think they might have Deborah offered the hosting gig, then Deborah offer Ava the head writing gig and Ava say no to that? Which would break Deborah's heart because what she really wanted was the hosting gig AND what she had with Frank back and Ava's the only person she's ever found that with? But at the same time Deborah ALSO sent Ava away before so her own career wouldn't get overwhelmed by Deborah Vance, so it's selfish of her to ask. (Understandable, but selfish.)

I could fill seats you know, but they all thought it was because of my sitcom or the fire. I was never seen as legit by guys like them.
HACKS Season 3, Episode 4 "Join the Club"
season 3????? ❤️🩹
#I thought so much about what to make Deborah say… “I missed you too”? “I'm sorry”? I think she would be more comfortable responding with a joke #"I know" make so much sense #like “of course you missed me” #It's a little thing that would definitely make Ava laugh and relax right away #<3 #because obviously Deborah can't admit that she missed her
sooo last round of silly drawings before crashing with the reality of the third season 🫠

comments on fanfics
I thought about writing this post for a long time and decided, fuck it, I'm gonna write this.
All over my dash I see people being disappointed because nobody is leaving comments on ao3 anymore/rebloging things on tumblr.
And the only thing I can think about this is: it's so true.
Two weeks ago I posted the epilog of my 60k words fanfic (I've been writing on it for almost a year and got some positive feedback on it) and I got ZERO comments, or kudos on the epilog.
I can see that people kicked on it, but I have no idea whether they liked it or not. (And I used to get a comment on my story now and then)
Last week I posted the first extra chapter (I planned three of these) and also got no reaction.
No I'm just sitting here, wondering if my writing is just true shit.
This is also the reason I was hesitate to post this. Maybe it's not the people and just that shithole of a story I've been writing.
Things like are just running around my head now and must say that the motivation to even finish those extra chapters is gone.
GUYS, IF YOU LIKE A FANFIC PLEASE LET THE AUTHOR KNOW, IT MEANS SO MUCH TO THEM.
So if you read a good story, not some bullshit like mine, write that comment.
I was going to put this in the tags, but my feelings are just too strong about this.
Creating and sharing fanworks is a lot like live, in-person theater or concerts. The audience is absolutely integral to the performance because they bring an energy to it. There's an opportunity for direct interaction both during the performance and even afterward backstage or at the stage door. It is a collaborative process. When the audience participates and receives the performance well, it's synergistic. Both the audience and the performer come away from the experience with a natural high, with a feeling of connection. When the audience doesn't participate, it's soul-crushing.
THIS is what fanwork creators are talking about when we bemoan the lack of interaction. We're not seeking popularity; we're seeking that collaboration. We're seeking connection. Fandom is a community, and fanwork is one of the ways we contribute to the community. But it's worthless if the community doesn't participate by leaving comments, by kudo-ing, by reblogging, by rec-ing. Without that, we can only assume that the community has told us our offering is unacceptable and therefore we shouldn't bother to offer more.
If you want more fanworks, you have got to let those who make them know you like their stuff! We can't read minds. We're just squee-ing fangirls (gender neutral) trying to connect with other squee-ing fangirls. We're here to play with you in fandom. Play with us!
