Kashimo Hajime in the new JJK Season 4 trailer !!!
"𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒎𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒑'"
~ Synopsis: They leave a voicemail after the break up. What is it like?
~ Characters: Meguru Bachira, Isagi Yoichi, Reo Mikage, Nagi Seishiro
~ A/N: One more work for the Bllk exes agenda y'all
𝑴𝒆𝒈𝒖𝒓𝒖 𝑩𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒂
Bachira was a happy person.
He smiled big. Laughed loud. Gesticulated exaggeratedly.
You remember him like that. Happy. Excited.
The complete opposite of how he sounded right now.
You didn't really want to press play on the voicemail, to be honest. You were just searching for a podcast to listen to while you cleaned your room, finally ready to get rid of all traces of your ex. To keep your mind off of him.
But, somehow, you found yourself staring at the notification of a voicemail. Left by none other than Bachira, your ex, three hours ago.
It's been weeks since the break up, and he stopped trying to contact you by the second one. So why was he doing this now?
Nonetheless, with a shaky sigh, you pressed play.
"Hey, babe" you winced at the pet name, halting just as you picked up the hoodie he left on your wardrobe. Barely 5 seconds into the voicemail and you were already regretting it "I can still call you that, right?" You wanted to shout. To scream that he can't call you that - not without making your heart nearly combust.
"Anyways, I just wanted to say that I..." He inhaled deeply "I thought I saw your face today. When I was crossing the road, I swore I saw you on the other side of the street." He spoke quick, like he always did, but his words were heavy - not at all like you remembered it to be, and it was terrifying to you.
"It was clearly you. Your hair, your height - hell, I even smelled your perfume in the air." He stopped talking, and you heard sheets shuffling. Maybe he was getting in bed, and you couldn't help but feel your throat tightening when you thought about him laying there, all alone.
Then, a laugh came from the speaker - too forced, too tight, too fake. "You always joked that I was schizophrenic. Maybe I am. Maybe you're really just an invention my lonely brain made up because I felt too alone, but..." His voice was beginning to fail, his words now more like a low whisper "what we had was so real. You were - are. You are my person. And I'm still yours. I tried, I really did" Sniffles made their way to your ears the moment you began taking down the pictures of you both that hanged on your wall, your eyes welling with tears you refused to acknowledge "I tried to forget you. To move on, like you wanted me to. But I kept seeing you everywhere and in everything I did" you were now holding the photos with a little too much force, tears flowing freely and making it hard to see anything - but your focus remained unwavering on the voicemail "You're always there. Always with me. And I want to be with you too, so please" you stopped at the last picture, heart beating a little too fast. You grabbed it with shaky hands: you and Meguru after the U20 match, both smiling big, his name across the jersey on your back. The line went silent for a while, and you thought it was finally over - but he surprised you, like he always did "Let me be by your side again. Let me be yours one more time. If you still have even an ounce of love for me in your heart, please call me back, [Name]. I love you still. I don't think I'll ever stop. I'm sorry."
You felt like throwing up. But as you thought about Bachira - your Bachira - laying curled up in bed, hugging the sheets and all alone again, the decision couldn't be easier.
So, you grabbed your phone and dialed the number you knew like the back of your hand.
𝑰𝒔𝒂𝒈𝒊 𝒀𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒊
"Are you proud of me?"
This was not the first thing you expected to hear from your ex three months after the break up, but Isagi Yoichi was never someone easy to read.
The voicemail was exactly what you expected from him, though. At least the background noise was - he had just won a big game, and the crowd clearly knew that - his name kept being chanted over and over, loud enough to make the stadium shake, after all.
He was clearly on the team's lockers though, as you could hear his teammates celebrating in the back.
"I won today" his voice was a little breathless, like he was either tired or high from the win - maybe both "Did you see me? Did you watch? That goal I did today - God, you were the only thing going through my mind when I scored it. I swear, you never leave me alone" he laughed, and you could practically see the wrinkles on the corner of his eyes - the ones you used to kiss when he giggled at a bad joke of yours or when he smiled upon seeing you.
You did watch. Of course you did, you watched all his games, even if you kept lying to yourself that the sports channel was just conveniently on and you were suddenly too lazy to change channels.
You heard his teammates calling him in the background, asking if he was going to the celebration party.
"In a second!" He yelled. You heard a zipper - probably his bag's - and steps. Then, the noise stopped, making you realize he was now alone on the locker room. The line felt silent for a bit, then you heard a weird noise coming out from him, something akin to a breath that got stuck on his throat. The next time he spoke, his voice was a little louder, like he picked up the phone and put it closer to his mouth "God what am I doing? I'm so sorry to bother you, [Name]. It's just..." He exhaled deeply "I had such a good day today and the match was so good - and that's the problem. Because you're still the first person I want to tell. You're still the one I want to hear saying that they're proud of me. It's you. It's always been." You heard a groan coming from him and steps, meaning he got up and was now exiting the locker room.
He let out a shaky breath. Then, not any louder than a whisper, he continued "I miss you, you know? I miss you in ways I don't know how to explain without sounding like I'm stupid - so I think I'll just- I'll just stop here. You don't have to call me back, I just needed to get this out, I guess. I'm sorry. Goodbye, [Name]. Hope you have a great day."
The beeping signaling the end of the voicemail was almost mocking you.
And as you stared at the TV, displaying his post-game interview, the only thing going through your mind was calling him back to let him know that you missed him, too.
𝑹𝒆𝒐 𝑴𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒈𝒆
Reo was the most perfect boyfriend you could ever ask for.
But, sometimes, things just don't work out - sadly, it happened between both of you.
The break up was mature. You both talked it out like the young adults you are and decided to break it off mutually - which was why you found it weird that he had called you early today. And even weirder that he left a voicemail.
So, like the curious person you are, you pressed play.
Big mistake.
"Uhm, hi" he started, voice steady. Then, almost as quickly "This isn't what it looks like. I mean, what you probably think it is- anyways. I was just... Going through my contacts, you know? Deleting some numbers from old sponsors and sale partners, normally, but then - then I came across your name. Which is totally normal, right? We didn't end things on bad terms, after all, so I didn't really think about... blocking you" he said the words like it physically hurt him to get them out
He was speaking too fast, almost like he was vomiting the sentences. You sat up straight on your bed, embarrassingly hanging on to every phrase
"And I wanted to delete it. I'm sorry, but I had to. I had to move on. I almost deleted it - I really planned on it, I swear. But then I remember that you still have that book of mine. The stupid one that talks about finances and that I didn't even like that much? So... I'm just checking in before blocking you. To see if you still have the book and... see how things have been, I guess"
You held in a breath just as he exhaled.
"I'm doing fine, by the way. Life has been good. Busy as always, but still good. I'm sleeping great, eating normally..."
A pause cut thought the call, and you heard a shaky breath coming from him. You heard a noise that sounded like he ran his hands through his hair
"That's a lie. I sleep, of course - but I wake up a lot more than I used to. Like my brain knows there's something wrong when you're not sleeping next to me. I hate it."
His breathing grew a little more erratic as he uttered the next words
"Also, I heard something today. Someone laughed and it sounded exactly like your laugh. I turned my head so fast I swore I got whiplash - but I didn't. And it wasn't you, of course." Then, almost inaudible, came the next phrase "I wouldn't be that lucky"
You were paralyzed, torn between just deleting this stupid message or continuing to torture yourself with it.
You chose the later.
"But that's good. Not being you, I mean. You have your own life now, without me, and that's alright. I'm doing fine without you, anyways" it sounded like he was trying to convince himself rather than you
Silence filled the line again. You put your phone closer to your ear, wanting to hear every word.
"I just wanted to tell you that you can keep the book, if you haven't thrown it out already. I wouldn't blame you if you did. But in case you didn't, keep it. I don't need it. I need... Other things at the moment" A pathetic part of yourself wanted him to say 'I need you back"', but you kept that part hidden.
"And you don't have to call me back" the voicemail continued, ignoring your mental torment "I just needed to check if this number worked, I guess, so I can feel better about not deleting it. A-and see if you still have the book- my book, of course."
A sigh rang through the call. Then, a gentle, forced laugh that sounded less like a laugh and more like a dying parrot.
"God, this is a little embarrassing. Anyways, hope you're doing well. Sorry for taking your time, really. I won't do this again. I'm sorry. ...goodnight"
𝑺𝒆𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒐 𝑵𝒂𝒈𝒊
You knew Nagi was a lazy individual. You were already used to it, actually - having dated him for over 3 years.
Which is why him making the effort to call and leave a voicemail after left you absolutely bewildered.
"Hello" He started, voice lazy and mixing with the soundtrack of a videogame playing on the background "Uhm, you probably weren't expecting this." He's right. You weren't "It's a bad time. It's late. And this is weird."
The noise of the joysticks accompanied his voice, and if you closed your eyes and thought hard enough, maybe you could pretend this was just one of the many times you laid on his lap while he played his silly games
"I wasn't really planning on calling. I'm not used to plan anything at all, actually" his voice came out slurred. He paused for a bit, then continued "I couldn't sleep. Again. It has been a little harder without you, and it sucks. My phone and setup were closer than the TV remote, so... yeah"
The line went silent once again, and you really should've just deleted this stupid message, because all you felt was worry - worry about the fact that he was, again, staying up late playing games.
He hummed, then continued
"There's a character with your name on the game I'm playing, and I thought I should tell you - not telling you sounds like more effort. It's like my brain wants me to tell you - is it weird? - and going against my brain is just too much of a hassle. Everything's been a hassle since you left, actually"
You hang onto every word. Every sigh, every noise, every "Game over" that sounded on the background, like it would all just disappear if you didn't. Like he would disappear if you didn't.
"But some things have been normal. Too normal. And it's good. I like normal. At least, I'm supposed to." You don't remember him talking this much "I don't know if it's because you left, but normal looks bad now. The room feels too quiet without you, and I hate it. It's annoying"
He stopped talking, and you heard him heave out a sigh just as you head shuffling and bones cracking. He was stretching, probably from sitting on that damn gaming chair for too long "I'm wearing that hoodie you gave me, the one you loved to wear. It helps me sleep. I found it under the bed. I was going to throw it away, but it was too much effort."
The chair squeaked, so you assumed he got up.
"If you want it back, come take it. And wear something nice while you're on it. Or don't come. I don't care." By the end, his voice was a little muffled, so you assumed he got into bed and underneath his sheets "Or maybe I do. A little."
His voice grew drowsy, like he was almost falling asleep already
"The thought of you hearing this makes me sleep better already. Is that bad?" You held your breath "Again, you don't need to come over. Or call me back. That would be too... complicated. Maybe I just wanted to hear your voicemail thingy - I don't know the name. The one you record that goes like: 'Hi, I'm [Name]! Leave your message after the beep'. It's still the same ever since I met you. That's convenient. And comfortable. I hate changes. I wish I could hear you in person one more time"
He was awfully talkative. Nothing like the Seishiro Nagi you knew.
He sighed, and you pressed your phone harder against your ear
"This was exhausting. Feelings suck. You don't, though." His voice got a little further, like he turned away from the phone "Goodnight Choki" his voice grew louder again "Goodnight, [Name]."
Then, the voicemail ended.
Yeah. Like you would be getting a goodnight after that.
So what if I don't know how to write Nagi? What if? What you gonna do about it?

· finding their s/o fatally wounded on the battlefield ft. gojo, yuta, megumi
⊹ summary: they find their s/o fatally wounded, about to die on the battlefield & she barely survives ⊹ warnings: angst, mention of death, injuries, they literally lose it
the report comes through the earpiece but gojo doesn't wait for the coordinates. he feels it. the spike of your cursed energy is flickering like a candle and then it drops—low, dangerously thin.
gojo doesn't arrive; he shatters the space where you are.
the sonic boom of his arrival levels the surrounding debris, he lands with such concussive force it knocks down a group of grade 1 sorcerers nearby but he doesn't hear any of it. all he hears is the wet, stuttering rhythm of your heart—a sound he’s fallen asleep to for years, now skipping beats like a broken clock.
he sees you. propped against a crumbling brick wall, chest barely moving, your uniform saturated in a deep, terrifying crimson. the six eyes are a curse for him in that moment, detailing the catastrophic internal hemorrhaging, the plummeting blood pressure, the precise millisecond your organs are beginning to shut down. every single cell in his body violently rejects the sight in front of him.
"gojo! we have to secure the perimeter before shoko can—"
nanami starts, stepping forward to catch him but gojo moves with a jagged speed. he drops to his knees in the grit, his infinity completely dissolved. he doesn't care.
he rips off his blindfold and the sorcerers nearby recoil at the sight of his face. his eyes are a manic, electric blue, vibrating with a celestial, unhinged panic. he reaches for you, but his hands—the most powerful hands in existence—are shaking so violently he can’t even get a steady grip on your shoulders.
"hey."
he whispers, a sound so thin and broken it cuts through the roar of the fires.
"hey, look at these eyes. look at satoru. stay right here in the blue, okay? don't you dare close them."
he pulls you into his lap, ignoring the blood staining his white shirt and the eyes of his students watching from the rubble.
you don't respond.
"hey, princess. look at me. blue eyes, see? satoru is here, i'm right here."
he leans his forehead against yours, his breath coming in shallow, terrified hitches that sound more like gasps for air.
"i didn't tell you enough," he chokes out, a sob finally racking his chest, loud and uninhibited. "i've been so arrogant, i thought i could protect everything but all i wanna protect is you. don't leave me, don't—"
with the last bit of strength even you didn't know you had left you reach out, your blood stained fingers touching his cheek.
"satoru..."
the sound of his name—not his title, not his rank, but him—acts like a physical blow. gojo recoils, his breath hitching in a broken, wet sob that he doesn't even try to hide from the sorcerers watching from the perimeter.
"no." he chokes out, holding you so tight it hurts. "no! don't say it like that, don't say my name like that. i don't permit this, you hear me? i'm the strongest and i don't allow this, i forbid it!"
you try to speak again but all that comes out of your mouth is a pile of wet, warm blood dripping down from your lips to your chin. your eyes start to flutter.
"i told you to keep your eyes open, open them!" he roars, his command vibrates in the void, the force of his voice making everyone nearby shudder. "look at me! if you close your eyes, i'm coming with you! i mean it! i'll tear the sky down if i have to, just stay with me!"
there stands the god of the jujutsu world, replaced by a man who is sobbing uninhibitedly into your hair, clutching your fading body as if he can physically shield you from the afterlife. he had spent his life standing above everyone, but as he begs you to take one more breath he is finally, devastatingly human.
he pours his rct into you with such reckless, burning force his own eyes start to bleed from the pressure. he is wailing now in a raw, animalistic sound. his face buried in your neck, whispering.
"i love you. i love you. i love you. i'm sorry i'm so late. just one more breath. for your satoru, for the blue eyes you love so much. please."
hours later the sterile white walls of the infirmary are a stark contrast to gojo who hasn't moved an inch by your side for two days with your blood still on him.
he is sitting in a cramped plastic chair that looks absurdly small for his frame. his long legs tucked awkwardly, his head resting on the edge of your bed.
he is holding your hand. not with his usual light, teasing touch but with a crushing, desperate grip that pierces his infinity. he hasn't put his blindfold back on since the battlefield. he can't. his six eyes which usually process the infinity of the universe are now hyper focused on a single, rhythmic heartbeat which he needs to see for himself in order to put his restraint back into its place.
the door opens quietly. "satoru." it's shoko. "the higher ups are calling. there's a grade 0 sighting in kyoto, they've been ringing for three hours."
he doesn't even turn his head to look at her.
"tell them to go fuck themselves." he rasps. his voice is a jagged wreck, hollowed out by days of silence and sudden, violent bouts of sobbing.
"you haven't even eaten. you're becoming a liability. how can you take care of her if you don't get your shit together?" shoko sighs.
"i said tell them to go fuck themselves." he repeats, his voice dropping to a low, vibrating frequency. "i'm not moving."
the god of the jujutsu world, refusing to take on missions and answer his calls for the last two days. he was supposed to be untouchable but he has cried silently until his tear ducts are inflamed, until his throat is raw, until he started physically trembling from dehydration.
a few hours later your fingers twitch. it's a tiny movement but for him it has the impact of an earthquake.
gojo bolts upright, his chair clattering against the floor. he stares at you, breath catching in his throat as your eyes find him.
"satoru?" you whisper, your voice barely a breath.
he doesn't make a joke. he doesn't give you a cocky grin. he makes a small, choked sound in his chest and collapses forward, burying his face in the crook of your neck. the weight of his head is heavy, and almost immediately you feel the warmth of fresh, silent tears on your skin.
"don't." he gasps, his voice breaking as he clings to you. "don't ever do that again. do you hear me? i'll kill you myself if you ever try to leave me like that again. don't you dare do that to me again. please."
he is sobbing now like a child who got lost but finally found his way home. his body shaking so hard that the bed vibrates, his hands clutching your shoulders as if he is trying to merge your bodies together so you can never drift away from him again.
"i'm sorry i wasn't there." his sense of pride completely burnt away. "i'm sorry i was late to protect the one thing i actually cared about. i'm sorry i went out in a rush that morning because i thought i was invincible, because i thought i'd have countless days to tell you that you are my home."
he doesn't say the words, he heaves them out. each sentence is interrupted by a sharp, hitched breath.
"everyone looks at me like I’m a god, but i felt so small when i saw you lying there. i couldn't even stop a single piece of steel from touching you. i'm supposed to be the strongest and i almost let my entire world die in the dirt. i'm supposed to be able to fix everything, why did i almost lose you?"
he pulls back just an inch, his blue eyes raw and vulnerable. he looks pathetic. he looks human. he looks like a man who has just been handed back his entire life.
"i'm staying right here until they say you can walk out." he whispers, his thumb brushing a tear from your cheek with a hand that won't stop trembling. "higher ups can call anyone but me for a while for all i care."
he kisses your palms, his lips dry and cracked, and he doesn't stop crying silently until he finally falls asleep with his head on your chest, listening to the only heart that matters to him beating.
yuta doesn’t just arrive; he descends like an omen.
he doesn't just find you; he carves a path to you across the battlefield that leaves the earth scorched.
his descent is silent and terrifying. the air pressure drops as rika manifests in her most primal, monstrous form, her wails harmonizing with the low, guttural sound coming from yuta's throat.
he sees you slumped against the debris, your life leaking out through a jagged tear in your torso.
maki and inumaki are already there, trying to stem the bleeding but they step back as they see the look on yuta's face.
it isn't the look of a hero; it's the look of a man who is about to burn the world down.
he drops to the ground.
"no." he mutters a flat, dead sound. "no, no, no i won't let it happen."
"yuta, we have to move her carefully—" maki starts, reaching for his shoulder but he brushes her hand off with a burst of such immense cursed energy that it startles her.
he is not the yuta that people can rely on anymore, he is a boy losing his soul.
he crawls to you, his hands glowing with a blinding, unstable white light. he shoves his fingers into the wounds, his teeth bared in a snarl of grief as he forces your flesh to knit back together.
"i'll tie your soul to mine with iron chains if i have to. i'll turn into a monster to keep you here. just stay. stay, stay, stay with me."
he pours every ounce of himself into you, his nose bleeding from the force of his effort and his face contorted in a silent, heaving grief that makes the other sorcerers back away in respect. he is not a monster yet, he is just a man begging for a future. he whispers into your ear, a frantic, stuttering chant of years old secrets and promises.
"i was gonna ask you tonight, i was gonna ask you to spend your whole life together with me. i was going to tell you how you saved me from the darkness inside my head, i was going to ask if we could finally... just be together. properly. forever. please, don't make me carry that ring forever, stay. look at me, please, please."
he stays hunched over you, a shield of white light and jagged shadows, his body heaving with heavy sobs until the medics have to pull his hands away. he looks at them with eyes so hollow they look like glass.
later, the silence of the infirmary is the second worst thing yuta has ever experienced. he hasn’t even changed his uniform. the dark fabric is still stiff with dried blood, mostly yours. he smells of ozone and sterile gauze.
he hasn't slept in forty eight hours. his eyes are sunken, rimmed with a raw, bruised red from the bouts of silent weeping he did in the hallway when shoko told him it was a touch and go. he has ignored calls from his friends and a direct summon from the higher ups for a new mission. the world outside has ceased to exist in his perception.
"yuta?" your voice a rasp, fragile thread.
he is holding you tightly, face buried in your shoulder before you can even blink. the sob that leaves him is jagged and completely devoid of restraint.
"i'm sorry, i'm sorry, i'm sorry i wasn't by your side the whole time. i'm sorry i couldn't protect you."
he tilts his head up slightly, his eyes find yours and the sight is devastating. the special grade sorcerer, the boy who fought gods in the streets of sendai is trembling so hard he can barely keep his balance.
"i thought i lost you," he gasps, his voice breaking into a wet, stuttering wreck. "i was standing right there, and i saw you go down, and i—i couldn't breathe. i spent my whole life being afraid of my own power but in that moment i just hated it. i hated that i wasn't fast enough."
he looks at you with eyes full of grief that he hasn't yet recovered from, letting you see every bit of the terror he’s been carrying for the past forty eight hours.
he pulls back just a little bit so he can reach into his pocket with trembling fingers and pull out a simple, thin band—not a sorcerer's tool, just a piece of silver he must have clutched in his palm like a talisman for the last two days.
"i didn't have the time to tell you that you're the only reason i even want to be a human being. i've spent my whole life being a vessel for a curse, but you're the only thing that makes me feel like me."
he holds the ring between his shaking fingers, pressing it against your palm as he sinks to his knees on the linoleum floor.
"marry me," his eyes now dry but breath still instable. "i don't want the special grade rank, i don't want a title, and i don't want a legacy. i just want to be yours. i want to wake up and know you're breathing. i just can't do this life if i'm not coming home to you."
seeing you smile weakly at him, his voice breaks.
"i know this is not an ideal way of proposing but i know now that i can't know what's going to happen if i wait to say things like this. i can't, not anymore, not knowing that the worst possibility exists. i'll do this properly when we can walk out of here."
he leans his forehead against yours, the slowly returning warmth of your skin anchoring him.
"i'll never let anything like this happen ever again, i won't do the same mistake a second time. i wanna be the one to protect you forever, i will be. be my wife and let me be by your side forever."
the battlefield is a graveyard of twisted rebar and rising dust, the air thick with the metallic tang of blood and the fading ozone of spent cursed energy. itadori, nobara and a group of grade 1 sorcerers are several yards away securing the perimeter, their voices sounding distant and muffled.
megumi does not hear them.
he does not hear the sirens or the crumbling of the buildings nearby. his entire world is narrowed down to the small, broken figure lying in the debris.
he makes a small, choked sound in the back of his throat and drops to his knees.
he doesn't use his shadows to clear the rubble. he tears at the concrete with his bare hands until his fingernails are gone, his breath coming in shallow, terrified hitches.
"no." he whispers, a flat, dead sound. he reaches out, his fingers flushing with a frantic, uncoordinated tremor. he tries to stem the flow of blood from your side, but it is everywhere—stretching across his palms, soaking into his sleeves.
"fushiguro! we have to move her, the medics are—" itadori starts, running toward him but he stops dead when megumi looks up.
megumi's face is a ghostly, translucent white, his green eyes wide and vibrating with a primal, animalistic panic. he does not look like a stoic grade 1 sorcerer, he looks like a boy watching his heart being torn out of his chest.
"get back." megumi rasps, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous frequency that makes even the divine dog beside him whine in distress.
he pulls you into his lap, tucking your head under his chin. his whole body is trembling. there isn't a trace of his usual calmness in his attitude.
"i'm here." he whispers, his voice a jagged, low frequency wreck. "i've got you. just... keep looking at me. don't look at the shadows. look at me."
using the last bit of strength left in you, your fingers ghost over his jaw, leaving a faint, copper smelling streak on his pale skin.
"megumi..." you whisper.
his reaction is instant and terrifying. he doesn't sob, he breaks.
his eyes, usually so sharp and disciplined, go wide and hollow, the green irises vibrating with a suffocating grief. he doesn't pull away. he lunges forward, burying his face in the crook of your neck, his body heaving with a sound that is less like a cry and more like the pain of a physical wound.
"stop." he gasps against your skin. "don't say it like that. don't say my name like you're handing it back to me. you're the one who gave it meaning when i despised it! i can't do this alone, i can't do it, i can't, i can't. don't leave me, don't you first love me and then leave me! look at me!"
itadori and nobara are standing over him, their eyes teary, silently bearing his pain with him.
he is whispering your name over and over like a prayer intended to lure you back from the edge. "i didn't tell you." his breath keeps hitching like he is unable to breathe. "i didn't tell you that i'm finally happy. for the first time in my life i'm happy and it's because of you. you can't leave me in the middle of a sentence! you can't leave me with this silence, you have to hear what i have to say to you!"
he breathes in the scent of your skin so deeply that it's almost like he thinks the deeper he breathes you in the more possible it becomes that you return to him.
"i love you. i didn't say it this morning because i was rushing. i'm sorry. i love you, i love you, i love you! please. just one more breath. for me. just one."
he stays there with you in his arms, not moving an inch until the medics have to literally tear you apart from megumi while itadori barely manages to hold him back.
later, the hospital room is sterile. the rhythmic, artificial beep of the heart monitor is the only sound cutting through the heavy silence.
megumi hasn't moved for six hours. he is sitting in the hard plastic chair pulled flush against your bed. his spine curved, his head resting on your hip. he looks gaunt, the shadows under his eyes matching the dark ink of his uniform.
he is holding your hand with a grip that is both tender and terrified—his thumb tracing absent patterns on your pulse point.
you stir, feeling the warmth of him against your skin. when your fingers twitch against his, his entire body jolts as if he’s been struck by lightning.
he sits up instantly, his green eyes wide and searching. they are bloodshot, rimmed with a raw redness that tells you he hasn't slept since the battlefield. he freezes, his chest heaving with a breath he seems too afraid to let out.
"hey." you whisper. your voice a scratchy, hollow thread.
megumi doesn't answer at first. he can’t. he makes a small, choked sound in the back of his throat and leans forward, burying his face in the crook of your neck. his shoulders begin to shake, not the violent, soul shattering sobs in the middle of the debris but a quiet, exhausted trembling.
"you got back to me." he gasps against your skin, his voice muffled and thick. "you actually came back to me."
he pulls back just enough to look at you, his hand cupping your cheek with a look of such vulnerability and desperation that it makes your heart ache.
"i felt like i was losing my mind." he whispers, his thumb brushing a stray tear from your eye. "i spent two days thinking about that morning... about all the things i didn't say, i just walked out. i thought that was going to be the last thing i ever did—just walk away from you."
he leans his forehead against yours, closing his eyes tight. "i don't care about the missions, i don't care about anything. i'm not leaving this room until you walk out of it with me. i'm staying right here."
he kisses your lips. a long, lingering press of his lips that feels like a seal. then he settles back into the chair, refusing to let go of your hand. his eyes fixed on yours as if he is memorizing the fact that you’re still breathing. for the first time in years, the shadows around him are still. he is finally home.

⋆.𐙚 ̊ post shinjuku!satoru doesn’t like his scars, luckily his wife thinks otherwise
morning light spills through the curtains in soft gold, warming the room.
satoru is only half-awake, which means he’s quiet in a way the world rarely gets to see. right now he‘s just your husband, shirtless and his hair a little messy from sleep, lying on his side facing you.
you look down his body, until the long scar crossing his abdomen comes into view.
even softened by time, it cuts through him like a memory that refuses to leave. like the world tried to end him and failed, but left proof anyway.
your fingers move before you think.
you trace his chest, over the old healed lines, over all the injures he had to endure. and when you reach that scar, your touch slows instantly, like your hands already know where to soften.
he exhales, like he’s fully awake now.
“do you think my scars are ugly?” he asks, a small frown on his face.
that catches you off guard.
you look up at him properly now, taking in the details you usually miss when he’s performing his usual confidence— the faint tension in his jaw, the way his shoulders aren’t as relaxed as they pretend to be.

JJK men & period - headcanons
JUJUTSU KAISEN MASTERLIST
SUKUNA
At first, he’s irritated. Not at you but at the inconvenience of the circumstances. “Your body is weak. How irritating.” And yet, of course, he doesn’t leave.
He’ll lurk nearby, pretending disinterest, but the moment you shift in pain, his eyes flick toward you instantly. He notices everything.
He won’t fuss or coddle. Instead, expect his hand to press against your abdomen, cursed energy flowing subtly, easing the cramps effortlessly. “Stop writhing. It’s annoying,” Ryomen mutters, though his hand doesn’t move.
He mocks you endlessly. “Is this really enough to bring you down?” “How pathetic your body is.” His tone is cruelly teasing.
Secretly (and he’d never admit it), there’s something about your vulnerability that makes him even more possessive of you. You’re his. Your pain, your every shiver of discomfort - all of your weaknesses are his to exploit. He will brand you so no one else will ever touch you again.
CHOSO
His Blood Manipulation lets him sense subtle changes in your body’s chemistry - he can literally smell when your period is about to start. The second he notices, his protective instincts kick in before the cramps even hit.
“Does it hurt? Where? How bad? Tell me everything, Y/N,” he demands softly, needing details so he can act precisely. He’s very methodical.
Choso subtly manipulates his blood while rubbing little circles over your tummy, warming it just enough so his palm acts like a heating pad on your stomach. The heat, his heat, radiates soothingly. He watches your reaction like it’s the most important thing in the world, instantly adjusting if it’s too much or too little.
If you’re tearful or frustrated, Choso doesn’t question it. He just pulls you into his arms, holding you like you might crumble otherwise.
Even though it’s definitely not the right time, Choso might suggest a quickie. He’s straightforward about it: he doesn’t mind the blood; he claims it’s not gross at all; he insists there’s no better stress relief for cramps than sex.
He loves being physical with you - hugs, nuzzles, keeping you in his arms with his chin resting in the crook of your neck - these are his ways of showing that he cares for you.
MAHITO
The moment he realizes what’s happening, he’s hooked. He’s fascinated. Completely, utterly fascinated.
He crouches at the edge of the bed, chin in his palm, staring at you with wide, delighted eyes. “Wait, your body willingly puts itself through this every single month?” To him, it’s less inconvenience and more a fascinating ritual of flesh, something so uniquely human that he can’t stop poking at the idea.
His first instinct is, of course, deeply alarming. A grin stretches across his face as his fingers twitch with temptation. “I could fix it in one touch, you know.” He says it so casually, like reshaping your insides is the most obvious solution in the world. The firm no you give him only makes him laugh, shoulders shaking with amusement. “Humans are so attached to their suffering. That’s adorable.”
Despite his chaotic nature, he ends up helping in his own weird way: he reshapes part of his arm into the perfect heating pad, molded exactly to the curve of your stomach.
What makes it strange is how observant he becomes. Mahito memorizes every reaction: what drink makes you feel less nauseous, how much pressure helps, whether warmth works better on your stomach or lower back. Once he learns the pattern, he repeats it with eerie precision, almost proud of how quickly he’s solved you.
Might rest his head on your lap while you lie there, absentmindedly tracing patterns over your tummy. “Humans are so fragile but you’re interesting like this!”
GETO
With Suguru, it starts before the first cramp even hits. He catches the faint shifts in your mood, the way your shoulders tense, the subtle fatigue in your eyes. By the time you realize what’s coming, your favorite tea is already steeping, and a blanket has somehow found its way over the couch.
He sits beside you, fingers brushing slowly through your hair, smoothing it away from your face in repetitive motions that almost lull you to sleep. His voice drops into that velvet calm he uses when he wants someone to listen. “Breathe. Let the tension go.”
When the cramps worsen, he wordlessly shifts closer and opens his arm for you. The moment you lean into him, he secures you there, one arm around your waist, his other hand resting low on your stomach with slow circles, almost meditative.
Geto’s affection is subtle: a soft kiss to your temple when you wince; his lips brushing your hairline while tears of pain roll down your flushed cheeks. The tenderness feels almost disarming because it comes from someone so composed, making it all the more powerful.
Suguru absolutely keeps track, though you may never realize it at first. He remembers the dates, the symptoms, even the little preferences you mention offhandedly.
NANAMI
The moment Nanami notices the faint tension in your shoulders, the way your hand lingers over your abdomen, or the slight sharpness in your breathing, he mentally restructures the day. Meetings? Delayed. Errands? Handled by him. Anything remotely stressful is quietly removed from your path before it can even reach you.
Nanami is the type to remember what eased your pain three months ago. The exact tea that helped bloating, the pillow angle that supported your back best, the pressure point that made your cramps less sharp. He stores these things away with the same efficiency he gives to exorcising curses, and somehow that makes it feel even more intimate.
Nanami rarely lets emotion show, which is why it’s so striking when his voice softens. He sets aside whatever he was doing and moves closer, his hand resting at the small of your back or over yours in a grounding, steady way. “Tell me immediately if it worsens.”
He will absolutely keep track of the time between your medication doses, hydration, and meals with that almost inhuman sense of precision. You don’t even need to look at the clock. The moment it’s time, he’s already there with exactly what you need. There’s something oddly comforting about the fact that, in Nanami’s hands, even your discomfort feels managed.
The most Nanami thing of all: he sees rest as a responsibility, not a luxury. If you try to push through the pain, he gives you that calm, unimpressed look over his glasses and simply says, “Your body is not a machine. Stop treating it like one.”
Kento will absolutely read to you - a book or even an article from the newspaper - to help keep your mind focused on something other than the discomfort.
ITADORI
The tiniest signs of you feeling uncomfortable terrify him. However, Yuji’s super sweet and concerned, even though a little clueless - but he’s truly trying his best.
Yuji worries that he should be able to fix everything. If you’re still in pain despite his care, he mopes quietly and mutters, “I… I wish I could do more… I hate seeing you like this.” He’s completely aware it’s irrational but can’t help feeling like a helpless failure sometimes.
He’ll almost trip over himself trying to help. When he doesn’t know how to help, he literally starts whisper-googling. You might hear, “Okay… heating pad… cramps… peppermint tea… cinnamon rolls?? Got it, got it…” before he returns with a tray of snacks and a warm compress.
If you’re emotional, Yuji doesn’t hesitate - he’ll hug you so tightly you might need to catch your breath, rubbing absentminded circles over your back to soothe your nerves. “My fighter. You’re such a brave girl.”
He genuinely feels proud if his presence, hug, or snacks prepared by him make you feel better.
MEGUMI
Megumi notices when something’s wrong within a moment.
He won’t make a big deal out of it, but suddenly everything is taken care of. You don’t even notice when he did it.
“You should rest, Y/N.” That’s about as gentle as he gets verbally.
His Divine Dogs will do their best to comfort you as well. Kuro might curl near your feet or nudge a blanket closer with his nose, while Shiro rests his head lightly on your stomach or chest. Their presence is cozy and grounding. They are protective without being intrusive, mirroring Megumi’s own careful attentiveness.
If you lean against him for comfort, he stiffens for a moment, processing. Then, almost imperceptibly, he relaxes, allowing you to stay like that as long as you want.
When you’re frustrated or irritable, Megumi doesn’t scold or try to cheer you up. His constant presence helps regulate your mood without words, like a calm current beneath the surface.
GOJO
Dramatic. Over-the-top. Surprisingly caring underneath it all at the same time.
Spoiling you becomes his immediate priority. Anything you even hint at - snacks, chocolate, tea, ice cream - he materializes it, grinning like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
Gojo will never underestimate the power of sugar, and whenever you’re on the edge of crying, he will offer you a sweet treat. “Chocolate improves morale. Marshmallows improve morale. My presence improves morale, too, so you’re basically invincible right now.”
If you want to lie down, Gojo will drop completely into full human pillow mode. You can curl against him while he rambles endlessly about nonsense, trying to distract you from the pain. Sometimes he even hums or makes ridiculous commentary just to keep your mind off cramps.
Anyone who even looks like they might annoy you during this time gets the Gojo glare. He won’t raise his voice, but his sheer presence is enough to clear a room.
If the pain gets bad, Gojo becomes quiet, almost unnervingly gentle. He’ll brush your hair back, hold your hand, or press his palm against your belly with a soft “I’ve got you. Just tell me what you need.” He hates seeing you struggle.
HIGURUMA
Higuruma notices in the same way he notices inconsistencies in testimony - small things most people would miss. The way your patience wears thinner, the slight stiffness in how you move, the way you go quiet when the cramps spike. He doesn’t pry, just studies you for a second before asking in that low, even voice, “Is it bad this time?”
He listens carefully when you explain what hurts, giving you his full attention without interruption. With Higuruma, it never feels like you need to convince him your pain is real. The moment you speak, he accepts it as fact and starts thinking of solutions.
His care is thoughtful and deliberate. Medicine is brought exactly when it should be, tea set down while it’s still hot, a heating pad adjusted with precise hands so it rests where it actually helps. Every action feels considered, like he’s already weighed what would make this easier for you.
He stays nearby in that quiet, grounding way that suits him - reading through papers, sitting on the edge of the sofa, loosening his tie while keeping you within reach. He isn’t overly demonstrative, but if you lean against him, he immediately shifts to support your weight without a word.
What makes it so Higuruma is the way he protects your peace. If someone tries to interrupt your rest or dismiss what you’re feeling, his expression hardens almost imperceptibly, and his voice turns firm enough to end the discussion on the spot. “She’s resting. This can wait.”
YUTA
The second Yuta notices you’re off, his whole attention shifts to you. His brows pull together, voice soft and immediately concerned: “Are you hurting?” He doesn’t pry, but the worry is obvious in the way he stays close, watching for any sign the pain is getting worse.
He absolutely over-prepares, but in a way that feels very Yuta: quietly gathering things one by one because he’s scared of forgetting the one thing that might help. Water, pain relief, tea, your favorite snacks, blankets, extra pillows; he’d rather look excessive than risk you needing something he didn’t think of.
Yuta stays physically close in that naturally gentle way of his, letting you lean against his shoulder or rest against his chest while his hand moves in absentminded, soothing circles along your back or arm. He doesn’t even seem to realize he’s doing it; comforting you just comes naturally.
If the cramps hit hard, Yuta gets that quiet, determined look in his eyes; the one that means all of his focus is on you. He knows he can’t simply make the pain disappear, and that frustrates him more than he’ll admit, so instead he stays with you through every wave of it, making sure you never have to sit in that discomfort alone.
The more pain you’re in, the closer Rika seems to gather. If you curl tighter with cramps, her cursed energy thickens around the room in a strangely gentle way, almost like another blanket layered over the space. Yuta notices it too, glancing briefly toward her with that soft, understanding look only he can give. He doesn’t need to say anything; Rika simply reflects his own desperate wish to shield you from every ounce of hurt.
NAOYA
The first thing out of his mouth is a scoff. “What, you’re out of commission because of that?” His tone is cutting, almost mocking, like he can’t believe something so mundane has you slowed down.
“Tch. Women are such a pain. Stop making that face, it makes you fucking ugly, Y/N."
He absolutely judges how you handle the discomfort of the period. If you complain too much, he’ll sneer and compare you either to women from the Zenin clan who knew how to endure in silence or to his impossible standards of grace. “At least have the decency not to look so miserable.”
Yet, in his own strange way, he still expects you to be in proper condition. Naoya will curtly order someone to bring tea, medicine, or a heating pad, acting as if your discomfort is an inconvenience to his environment.
He hates anyone else noticing your vulnerable state. Not out of tenderness but out of pride and possessiveness. The idea of others seeing his woman looking weak irritates him deeply, and he’ll shut it down with a sharp glare and an even sharper tongue. If anyone comments on your condition, though, his expression turns ugly fast. “Did I or Y/N ask for your opinion?” is usually enough to make the room go dead silent.
The closest thing you ever get to softness from Naoya is him forcing you back down the moment you try to keep going with your usual tasks despite the discomfort. His fingers clamp hard around your wrist, sharp enough to make you freeze, while his expression twists with open irritation. He clicks his tongue in disgust. “Know your place. If you’re going to slow everyone down, at least stay out of the way.” The words are cutting, full of that familiar disdain he reserves so easily for women yet he never strays far, lingering just close enough to make sure you obey and actually stay put.
TOJI
He notices fast. Toji is the kind of man who clocks the smallest changes in your body language; the way you move a little slower, the faint grimace when you sit down, the shorter fuse in your tone. He won’t ask if it’s your period. He already knows. All you’ll get is a sideways glance and a low, dry “That time again, huh?”
His care comes in actions, never words. A pack of painkillers lands beside you, followed by a bottle of water he cracks open first because he knows you’re not getting up. If there’s nothing decent to eat around, he disappears for a bit and comes back with something warm, and filling.
Toji isn’t the type to fuss, but he does subtly rearrange things around you. The blanket you like is suddenly within reach, the room is quieter. He makes comfort happen without ever talking about it.
If the cramps are bad enough that you’re curled in on yourself, he’ll click his tongue, sit down beside you, and tug you against his chest or side with a rough “There, there, it will pass soon.” The steady heat of him and that solid frame are exactly what you need.
Anyone who bothers you gets dealt with instantly.
