She grabbed another box from her right, leaving the clothes for Grant to look through. Her hands grabbed on to a few books and piles of papers she flipped through. Billie found a few annotated books she put in the auction pile, figuring it would make some people happy. “She wasn’t big on pictures really. I probably have more of her writing.” the young woman explained as she tossed him a little pocket-sized notebook. "That’s her swear book. She invented them and wrote them down.” She chuckled. She was in this strange place where she was on her way to getting better, and talking about the two women was doable without bursting into tears… but looking inside the notebook would’ve been too much. She could remember, but not relive.

She kept sorting through things slowly and melted a little at his question. “I’ve been… better and worse at the same time.” she explained, calmly. “I’m back on my medication, so I’m more stable… but it makes it… realer. More painful.” she clutched a little tighter onto the dress wrapped around the dog. It was incredibly hard to talk about her feelings, except with Grant. Maybe it was because he had been there for her when a lot of people hadn’t, or maybe it was some sort or cosmic thing, who knew. All that mattered was that she had someone. “You? How’s the heart?”

“Well, writing is something even more special. It’s like having her words and her heart documented,” Grant said, sorting through the clothes, folding them into neat piles and separating them by types. Grant chuckled a bit when Billie tossed him her ‘swear book.’ He had never known that she had done this. “That’s kind of ingenious,” he flipped through a few of the pages of handwriting, chuckling at a word or two. He figured that Billie had thrown it to him so she didn’t have to see it. He placed it in the keep box and kept going with the clothes.
