History: Reese was born in what is today Finland, then called Osterland and controlled by the Swedes in the 14th century, adjacent to the port city of Turku. He was born the second-eldest of four children and sent at a young age to the church to learn to be a scribe, but made the ill-advised choice to join the priesthood. He lasted ten years before quitting in a fury over petty acts of simony and plenary indulgences.
At 38, unmarried and with very few prospects, he met a Sami reindeer herder who turned him into a vampire.
In the next two centuries, he eventually made his way to Rome, the church an ever-present lure, where he became involved in alchemy and became acquainted with @everarddelanden and the lost coven of Rome.
With some lost years to be accounted for, he eventually found his way to Prague in the 19th century, where he met and fell in love with @drcasimir in a tavern. They were together for almost a century before Reese left him in a rage over his decision to become a therapist.
In the 1920s, he ended up in Paris, heartbroken and friends with the authors and artists who held salons there, especially Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald. He had an affair with Zelda.
In the last two centuries, he made friends with the violinist @darknessmolten, with whom he has a connection one might loosely term friendship. So much can be found in brooding, cigarettes, bad poetry, and sex.
During WWII he posed as a journalist in London, narrowly avoiding his ex-lover and eventually crossing the ocean to work for the New York Times as a contractor. He spent time in Korea and Vietnam, throwing himself into danger where other journalists cannot go. He made good friends with the Beat Poets and had a fraught relationship with Hunter S. Thompson.
The NYT still calls him sometimes; he's a contractor that gets inherited from editor to editor with little explanation.
