My ACEO travel art kit!
Featuring Daiso office supplies to step up my game for cheap. I do a lot of my art while traveling or at coffee shops, so I wanted a kit to keep my materials clean and organized without feeling too precious.
My solution:
Item 1 is a B5 zippered pouch that fits everything inside. It’s semi-rigid and about 1” thick, so it doesnt feel like its crushing my paper or tools and holds space in my backpack.
Next is a clear clipboard and an envelope of pre-cut & measured bristol paper. I like doing 2-4 on one page so you’re not dealing with curling edges on a tiny image, and I cut them into individual pieces later.
If I have individual pieces, I put them in a 2.75x3.75” box to keep them safe. This is usually for finished pieces.
My favorite part of the kit is a double-sided pecil case! It has a place for erasers (which were getting horrible and scrunly in my general pouch), ink (wont save me from a big explosion but hopefully small spills), and my brushes on one side. The other side is undivided, so plenty of space for pencils/pens/etc.
This whole thing zips up in a nice kit to take with me anywhere.
For storage at home, I also got a trading card-specific binder and extra refills. Not all trading cards are the same size, so if you want to store ACEOS (2.5x3.5”) this is the right size:
All in all, this cost me less than $30 and it brings me so much joy, I want to fill the whole binder! Hopefully this is helpful if you’re also getting started with artist trading cards!
