      “ Don’t ‘Candy’ me. You know what you did. ”

" Wha'?? You don’t believe me?? Are you denying your own future son?? Gonna leave me a single mother without any help??

“I really shouldn’t ask, I don’t need to ask, Blanche don’t you dare as-.”

 “ Now that sounds like good ol’ Arlo. Doin’ somethin’ stupid to prove what he already got. ” Tut tut. A few clicks rolled from her tongue and she finally clicks the pen to a stop. Alright. This was worth at least putting her report away and giving mild attention. It better be good. At this point she was too frustrated and exasperated with Arlo.

“ I dunno birdy. I tried that shit already and it got us nowhere besides buttin’ heads. I cant help someone who won’t help himself first. If a god can’ get to him I doubt he’ll listen to me some more. ” Huff. Well…maybe she was a little frustrated with herself. But he wasn’t listening to her alone.

     Eye roll. Rocket.

“ Rockets are cheats n’ thieves. ‘Course they’ll recruit him when he left for whatever GO intell he had. ” 

“He doesn’t think so. He only ever saw himself as not good enough. Not good enough for you. Not good enough for WIllow. Not good enough for his mother.” 

While Arlo would rather die than admit most of this, Moltres had no qualms. If he wouldn’t admit it himself she’d admit it for him. Humans always made shit more complicated. 

“Maybe if you didn’t go full infurno at him girl. Use your anger productively. Don’t let it cloud your judgement like he does.” The bird gave a huff, steam curling from her to fade into the cool air. 

“They didn’t WANT intel. They simply gave him everything he wanted. A more perverse version of what you got. You got the bird, and the leader status, the responsibility. The recognition. They never asked for information about your little project. They just wanted him for his brains. His father was on the Mewtwo clone project, of course something like shadowfication would be easy for him-”

Theres a pause, a moment where her eyes suddenly widen as something clicks into place. 

" Hey chicken spice, if ya gonna look human then know I don’t take crap from anyone. I know what I said to him and I still mean every word. Not my fault he doesn’t listen.” Snort. Stubborn she might be .. but she’s still listening. Arlo was lost and dramatic. A complete idiot that overworked and overdid everything that only proved he knows how to make a dugtrio hole out of a durant hill.

       But .. he was her idiot. Two of the same firebrands. She can’t give up on him.

She knows that signature all to well. A faint tug of something in her conscious that made her pen pause the chicken scratch report she was scribbling down. She had been far off on a study trip for how many months now. The recent release of mega Pokemon into the program and the discoveries with it kept her constantly working to keep up with dates and what to publish to their program.

The heat in the cold valley she was currently studying at, the power that flushed skin and made her enraged and excited …, very very familiar signature. 

        But this was not her partner.

“ Moltres. ” Candela had just raised her head in acknowledgement before seemingly going back to work. Not her Moltres. A Moltres. The glamour she can see through. “ Arlo huh? ”

She tried weeks back to appeal to him, but when duty called Candela was no babysitter. Too much at stake to keep tabs on whereabouts and fishing him out of trouble he gets himself into. 

     “ Hadn’t heard from him or of him in a while. ”

“He doesn’t know I’m here.” 

In fact she simply left a note that stated ‘Going to Galar. Be back whenever.’ on his monitor for when he awoke. No need to tell him and get him all worked up more then he already was. 

She falls quiet for a moment, watching the other woman make notes. She could smell another moltres on her. So his memories and fears were correct. She was bonded with another Moltres…

“So that’s why he wanted me. The idiot boy climbed up a mountain wrapped in a blizzard to find me… and it was all to try and prove he was worthy of something like you… So he’d stop feeling so pathetic.” 

She mostly talking to herself for the moment. She shakes her head slightly, giving a snort. Enough rambling. 

 “ Now that sounds like good ol’ Arlo. Doin’ somethin’ stupid to prove what he already got. ” Tut tut. A few clicks rolled from her tongue and she finally clicks the pen to a stop. Alright. GODS OF GALAR - Galarian Moltres

“Oi.” 

The tall figure steps around the corner of a tree, and straight into the Valor Leaders way. They’re tall, with long black, red and pink streaked hair pulled into a high ponytail with shockingly blue eyes. Heat seems to radiate from her like a heater, turning the chill air steamy about her.

He almost lashes out at the voice way too close to his ear. He does however yell and jump, nearly smacking her in the face. 

“ Like my dude, you know how easy it is to track you guys down? I got all the ‘’leaders’’ pointed down to a science. Ya’ll couldn’t be anymore obvious. ” But she’s not here today to interrogate. She needed a break. They both did. Candela offers a hand out.
