I decided to do a time lapse for the first time since high school while working on a new piece. I have a show coming up in the short north next weekend (details coming soon) and wanted one more little alien dude to add to the bunch. Enjoy :)

Damn...similar composition and environment but a BIG difference. Above is a still from my first paid 2D animated gig back in 2014 and below is what I'm doing at work today. Even though I'm out of school, I'm still learning and pushing every day.

Happy National Video Games Day! This is a little something I got to make at work today for our Instagram (it ends kind of weird because it's designed to loop). I wanted to do something really loose and fun but not too detailed as I didn't want to spend all day on it. Reeeally love this job! :)

So, I haven’t been on here much lately because I started my first full-time job recently at Disrupt Media! I’m a video content creator and the sole animator for the company and I’m loving it so far! I can’t share any of the content yet, some of it will be public in October, but here are some screenshots. The first two images are from a Halloween short I did and the second two are from a series of 12 videos for “Have The Talk Of A Lifetime”. Thank you to everyone who has followed me along my artistic journey, I’m so happy to be on this next big step and to be working! 

I’m almost two weeks late posting, but I had a blast at Urban Scrawl 11! I did a digital illustration and acrylic painting in preparation and my final piece turned out somewhere between the two, which I’m happy with. I think if I participate next year I’ll do something a bit more ambitious, but this was still a ton of fun :)

I wanted to play with lighting because I’m not great with it, so here’s the product of that. 

(currently, I’m leaning toward the “3 kewl 5 u” with the green background)

This is the typical process I use for commissions. The first image is all of the reference I used with the family members, pets, and overall style, and has a quick digital sketch I did to figure composition. The second image is an ink and water color sketch showing (more or less) what the final should look like. The rest of the images were taken on my phone while I worked showing how I work back to front :)

Commission. 22 x 28 in. acrylic on canvas. 

I wanted to sketch something with color and decided to do a piece with my old character, Elijah. I've done a lot with him but never found a medium I felt worked perfectly for the story I wanted to tell. This is what my junior high film "Elijah" would have ideally looked like, maybe I'll revisit it.

Here’s a tiny animation I did tonight just to play with a slightly different style. Nothing fancy at all, just wanting to use After Effects again as I hadn’t in a second. Enjoy!
