Can I ask about a technique you used in your lovely bird mural? On the heron, it looks like you did a brown underpainting first to get in the values. How did you preserve those values in the final white & blue pass? Were you able to thin out the paint and "glaze" over the underpainting? Thank you!
Yes! Watering down the paint and doing washes is a big part of how i approach painting! and basically i'm basically using the underpainting as a shading map to help inform me as to where to place the final colors and at what value and shape, used in concordance with the reference image and you're in business!
