i see a lot of fanart etc of gideon where she is drawn as a very big and tall person and like yeah, valid and cool interpretation but like. consider. perhaps gideon is mostly perceived as so big because harrow is really tiny. like these ppl have been living in basically caves for thousands of years. maybe gideon is like 5’7 but harrow is only like 4’10. maybe gideon is 5’4 and harrow is 5’2 and gideon only rlly appears huge because she swings swords and harrow is a twig. yk?

Rereading GtN, I never realised how much Gideon defends Harrow even when she is cross with her. At any given moment when anyone else speaks badly about her, Gideon jumps in and cuts them down. I am not being insane about this enough, GIDEON HAS NO REASON TO DEFEND HARROW AND SHE STILL DOES. ACCORDING TO GIDEON THEY DESPISE EACH OTHER, SHE SAYS SHE HATES HARROW MULTIPLE TIMES AND TWO SENTENCES LATER DEFENDS HER. I DON’T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND HOW THIS IS MAKING ME FEEL

It's so funny how Harrow is becoming increasingly jaded, scared, and furious at being in a situation where her only option is to hurt her cavalier (her oldest, only, and best friend, the only person she wanted and needed at her side) and Gideon sees that growing resentment at their circumstances and is just like "she hates me 😔😢" GIRL SHE IS TRYING TO PROTECT YOU BOTH???
