Hi hello Tron Tumblr!! I got sucked back into my decade dormant Tron hyperfixation after my job kept bringing in merch for Ares and now I don't have anyone to talk to about it.

I have seen every Tron movie, with plans to read the 1982 novelization like the nerd I am. I'm currently watching Uprising, with a huge soft spot for the original '82 film. I love my wife Tron, I love him a lot.

I’m sure someone’s said this before, but there’s just something about the way a Programs’ desires are a reflection of their user and how different Alan and Tron treat Flynn. So, on the topic where Ares does not look A BIT LIKE JULIAN, I headcanon that Ares is actually Ed jr.'s program.

Like Ed wrote him a long while back but just... didn't compile him and just left in like storage (so Ares wasn't like sitting in limbo, he just wasn't born yet).

Then Julian finds Ares and writes in bits of his own coding and then compiles Ares. So Ares never knew that his actual user was Ed jr. and that Julian actually adopted?stole? him.

thinking about how in Tron 1982 it was Flynn who taught Yori who then taught Tron how to kiss but Flynn never bothered to explain what a kiss means socially... so it could be very probable that afterwards Tron & Yori exercised their one shared brain cell for a minute before arriving at the conclusion "oh it must be a custom, that's how they greet people in the user world" and then went about the Grid excitedly smooching every program they came across
