Slytherin

the first 10 pages of most books are always “these are the main characters and here’s some background on each of them and this is the setting etc etc” and it’s such a fucking hassle getting to the plot sometimes

just think about it:

- she gives ginny a stick and poke in their fourth year, the first tattoo she’s ever given anyone - a tiny crescent moon on the inside of her forearm with magic color changing ink - it tells ginny the weather, and glows when the weather is perfect for quidditch

- hagrid gleefully gets a tattoo from luna sometime in the fifth year - on his inner ankle, a square of text tells him about the needs of the creatures around him - he starts sitting with his ankle on his knee to more easily check it

- she gives harry a tattoo the summer before his eighth year - a small horntail, but it moves from his chest to sit on his shoulder or cower in the crook of his elbow as it pleases - it wakes him up from his bad dreams, and keeps him warm in the middle of the night

- she gives neville a tattoo before she was stolen into the malfoy’s manor - it’s a ring encircling his middle finger - the magic of it is simple, transforming into whatever word he needs to see most when he asks it

- seamus gets one not long after neville - it’s a tiny bomb on his collar bone, ticking in time with dean’s heart

- hermione doesn’t want a tattoo at first, but as she grows closer with luna she asks for it very shyly in the middle of her eighth year - it gently pulses with her heart on her shoulder blade, an hourglass on it’s side - it will sometimes stand up and run sand, but only when hermione is very busy or stressed

- george asks for a tattoo that finishes his jokes, many years after the war, when he is an uncle and godfather - luna refuses and instead gives him a non-magical tattoo, a china cup mended with gold over his heart

Ravenclaw: -only uses the blue heart emoji -say they like bitter coffee but is actually a bitch for sweet caramelly cappuccinos -tell everyone they sucked at a test but gets an A -Twenty One Pilots -probably bi -weed

Hufflepuff: -watches anime -owns a small cactus -messy hair -Ed Sheeran -“I’m discovering myself!” -studyblr -gets talked into trying weed by their Ravenclaw friend

Gryffindor: -sports merch -most likely straight -tea -dog person -forgets to water their plants -whatever’s on the radio -“the best things in life aren’t things”

Gryffindors are short, but tight hugs that make you gasp for air, or an emotional hug when you see a person after a long time. Gryffindors are the passion you feel in a brief yet loving embrace, that make you feel desired, that make you realize that you’re not alone, that give you courage in dark times.

Slytherins are the type of people that always try to give you a little more love back than you’re giving them, like a little hug competition. Slytherins hold you close, it’s a whole, tight embrace that feels a little like a snake coiling around you (matching to their house animal). They love long-lasting, warm squeezes and hate to be the first one pulling back.

Ravenclaws usually don’t like too much body contact, but if there’s a ‘special person’ they literally transform into cuddle monsters. Ravenclaws love gentle, cradling hugs that last long, it’s even okay if you just wrap your arms around them without squeezing too much. It’s the feeling of being held that tempts Ravenclaws.

Gryffindors are summer, when it’s the best time of the year to stay outside all day, the cloudless skies, birds chirping and insects buzzing, hanging out with your friends, every refreshing wind blow and the short summer showers, bathing in the river, the adrenaline of doing sports and staying up all night to have parties and fireworks.

Slytherins are autumn, the crisp, but not freezing evenings, the fog that’s lying like a coat over the streets, the leaves that are turning from their usual colour to a flashing yellow and orange, the good smell of the forest after a long, soothing rainfall, being excited for Halloween and going trick-or-treating, even if you’re probably already to old for it.

Ravenclaws are winter, staying in your warm, cozy home, reading alone in front of a crackling fireplace, being wrapped in your favourite blanket, reading a good book and have a warming drink, the aesthetic feeling of making the first steps in fresh snow, the sharp, keen feeling of a cold breeze hitting your skin, the freezing nights with clear skies and sparkling stars.
