You were awoken by the sound of your handmaiden, Margaret, going through your closet. You let out a soft groan and rolled over when you realized the sun hadn't yet risen.
âGood morning, my lady!â she said, too cheery for the very early morning.
âIs it really a good morning if I am awoken at this time of day?â You said dryly. She took no offense to your tone, knowing you hate mornings.
Margaret just chuckled, âThe prince has sent me to fetch you. He wishes for you to accompany him on a morning rideâ

Dreams chapter 5
Pairing: Xavier Thorpe x Addams!reader Summary: Youâre a new student at Nevermore High, and youâve been getting strange dreams of a certain tortured artist. Notes: Here is chapter 5! I took a break for the holidays, and the future chapters might take a little longer so sorry about that but hope you enjoy :)
The poe cup was a raging success for Ophelia Hall and the trophy we won marked a change that Nevermore hadnât seen in over a decade. Enid and Yoko hosted the celebration and, despite Wednesdayâs absence, it was fun but I couldnât help but think about Xavier the entire time. The kiss we shared in the shed plagued me, and not in the good way. I was scared that he would eventually lose interest in me, so I let the fear of what hadnât happened yet control me and I ignored Xavier the entire night. He was vexed and it left me regretting my actions, but before I could pluck up the courage to talk to him, he left suddenly.
That night I couldnât sleep. I was delirious with worry and a vision left me unable to get some rest.

I couldnât make sense of my dream and I didnât want to fall back asleep in fear I would see it again. Maybe I didnât want to know, or shouldnât, so I focused my energy to get ready for outreach day.
âAre you asking anyone to the Rave'n?â Yoko asked with an accusing eye.
Shit. The Rave'n. I completely forgot. Of course the only person I had in mind was Xavier, but Iâd have to be the first to reach out.
âI have someone in mind but I donât know if theyâd say yes.â
âIs it Xavier? Weâve all noticed how he looks at you.â
I smiled bashfully. âReally? I havenât noticed,â I tried throwing her off my scent, but that was impossible when speaking to a vampire. âWhat about you?â
She let out a cheeky smile, âIâm going with Devina.â
I rolled my eyes at the cute couple. âI shouldâve known.â
I decided it was pointless to let my fear take the reins and ignore Xavier, so I went to pay him a visit with the intention of asking him to the Rave'n. When I was approaching his shed I saw him standing outside talking to Wednesday. Curiosity got the better of me and I hid nearby to listen to their conversation.
âAre you going to make me ask?â
âOh absolutely.â
âWould you- wh⌠would you possibly consider going to the Rave'n dance with a certain⌠Would you go to the dance with me?â Wednesday blurted out.
âYes, Wednesday, I would love to go to the dance with you. I thought youâd never ask.â
My stomach dropped and all the color drained from my face. Wednesday walked away in unease, leaving Xavier alone. He looked at the ground and kicked at the stones with a perplexed look. He sighed and returned to his shed, his hand covering the scars on his neck.
It felt like someone had reached down my throat and dragged my heart right out of my body. Once the pain had settled, jealousy and anger was all that remained. I ran back to the castle and to the one person who I knew didnât have a date yet.
âAjax!â I waved.
âY/n! Hey, how are y-â
âDo you want to go to the Rave'n with me?â
âUhh, sure,â he smiled.
âGreat! See you then.â I wanted Xavier to feel exactly how I felt, and what better way to do that than by going out with his best friend?

Bloodied petals - Xavier Thorpe x reader | Part.2

[Masterlist] [Part.1]
A few days had passed since that night. The frequency of the coughs hadnât died down, although it was always quite unpredictable. Some days were easier than others, you only sneezed a few petals here and there; but some others were filled with sharp pain in your chest, uncontrollable coughs and whole flowers throwed up at the worst moments. You even started to feel lightheaded sometimes, as the unforgiving pressure on your chest squeezed harder and harder with every cough.Â
Thankfully you always managed to excuse yourself when you felt the pressure of a rough cough starting to build up in your chest. Like now, you were kneeling on one of the restroomâs floors, bent over the toilet sink and throwing up everything you could to try to free your lungs at least a little. Silently praying that no one was around to hear your choking sounds, you managed to throw out the last flower out of your throat. Wiping your mouth with the back of your trembling hand, you flushed the toilet, watching the white petals coated in blood being washed away. Sighing, you closed the toilet lid and sat on it, burying your face in your hands. Those last days had been hectic and your condition hadnât improved the slightest. It even seemed worse than before, with some violent setbacks like now. It sometimes felt so hard to breathe for a few minutes, while you had never experienced any serious health issues before.Â
Maybe it was the stress; after Rowanâs aggression at the fair, Wednesdayâs allegations about his death, then him being expelled, nothing made sense these days. Xavier hadnât mentioned anything from that evening in his dorm. The day after had been a little bit awkward, but then the both of you acted like nothing happened; still, you started to put some distance between you. Firstly because you didnât want to make things more weird, and second because you didnât want anyone to know about that strange condition of yours. Plus, the sensation of aching lungs seemed to be worse every time you were around him. It surely didnât mean anything, but it was a good excuse to avoid him until your health improved.Â
Checking your phone you noticed that your next class was about to start in a few minutes. So you gathered yourself, wiped the last remaining traces of tears or blood on your face, and got out of the restroom.Â
You slid on your seat in literature class just in time before the teacher started their lecture. Trying to pull out your notes and pen the more discreetly you could, you didnât notice the worried look Xavier gave you from across the room. It wasnât like you at all to be late for class. Even less to be so clumsy, he noted internally as you dropped your pen for the third time in five minutes. Xavier frowned. Something felt off about you and he couldnât help but feel guilty about it deep down. You had left his dorm hurriedly last time ; he didnât know exactly why but he still had the feeling he had something to do with it.Â
So when class was dismissed and all the students exited the room he rushed to catch you in the corridor.Â
âHey,â he called softly when reaching you.Â
Your head whipped in his direction, eyes wide. You had been so deep in your thoughts you hadnât heard him.Â
âHey,â you breathed back. His sudden apparition had almost startled you.Â
Xavier opened his mouth, about to say something but then he noticed your wince at the loud barks and laughs of a few werewolves students passing by. The quad was full of students at this break time, and your recent lack of sleep made you irritable to the ambient noise.Â
So he grabbed your hand and muttered something about the place being too loud as he gently tugged you in a corridor. The sudden contact had made your heart race despite the familiarity of it; you silently prayed that he couldnât feel your racing pulse under his long fingers, delicately wrapped around your wrist.Â
The two of you finally reached one of the corridors above the quad, much quieter than the place full of students. When it was clear that no one else was up here, Xavier let go of your wrist and turned to you.Â
âHey,â he repeated, âare you alright?â
The sudden question made your heart start to race in panic. Has he noticed something? Did he find a petal in his dorm?Â
âYou were late in class earlier,â he clarified at your lack of response, âyou overslept or something?â
You almost sighed loudly in relief. âI- yeah I overslept this morning,â you lied with a small smile - you hoped it was reassuring enough. âEnid mustâve forgot to wake me up ah ah.â
Even if you laughed about it and brushed it away, Xavier was still not fully convinced. You were a decent liar to anyone else, but not to him, he knew you too well for that.Â
âLook, about what happened last night in my roomâŚâ he started awkwardly, licking his lips nervously, âIâm sorry you left so suddenly.âÂ
You looked at him, eyes wide. âI- no thatâs okay,â you stuttered, surprised he brought that up. âI had stuff to take care of, anyway.â
âReally?â he asked immediately, narrowing his eyes.Â
Taken aback by his fast response you could only stare at him, mouth slightly agape and lost for words. He was totally not buying it.Â
âBecause you left in quite a hurry,â added Xavier, crossing his arms over his chest.Â
You looked away, licking your lips nervously. Why couldnât he drop it? Or at least, figure out what had been bothering you? Maybe itâll help you understand, because you werenât so sure of what had hurt you so much either.Â
âItâs nothing, okay?â you mumbled quietly, still looking anywhere but at Xavier. âI justâŚI didnât want to be too much, that's all.âÂ
Too much, or overstepping in your fascination for Wednesday, you thought internally. But then, a hand came to cup your cheek and turn your face back to Xavier.Â
âHey,â he said softly, and his voice made you look up at him. His warm brown eyes bore deep into yours, like a reassuring presence. âYou will never be too much, okay? Not to me.âÂ
You lightly gasped at his words, you didnât even realize you released a breath. The tension that had been building inside your chest, full of anxiety and stifling sorrow, suddenly disappeared. Like his words were enough to blow away the petals that were threatening to come out your mouth.Â
âI know I acted as an idiot, okay?â he continued. Though his hand never left your cheek, and you were internally grateful for that. âI shouldnât have dropped everything to start sketching while you were there.âÂ
This felt like a cold shower. Ah, so that was what he thought he did wrong. Maybe it was, but the memory of what happened was still painful to you.Â
âI canât stop you from drawing Xav,â you said, reluctantly pushing yourself away from his touch. âIt wouldnât be fair of me.â
Xavier frowned at you as you readjusted the strap of your bag over your shoulder, like you were ready to go. Never in all the years he had known you, you had ever fled his company. Yet, his presence seemed to make you uncomfortable now. Shit, how much of a prick had he been?Â
While he was stuck in his internal debate, you sighed. Of course, this topic was over for him. So you turned and started to walk away from him. That made Xavier snap back to reality, and a sliver of lucidity suddenly hit him.Â
âThis is about Wednesday, isnât it?â he called from behind.Â
That made you stop dead in your tracks and snap your head to him, eyebrows raised high.Â
âWhat?â you whispered.Â
The fact that it had made you react was maybe a sign that he was somehow right. As your mind tried to understand it all, the look of surprise on your face somehow reminded Xavier of the sadness that had emanated from you when you had left his room that night. It made his heart squeeze because he knew it was because of him.Â
âI- I know her. From before,â he explained, unsure about how to present things. âI met her when we were kids. She saved my lifeâ
âWhy didnât you tell me?â you asked perplexedly.Â
He opened his mouth once, twice, searching for the right words. âI donât know,â he finally admitted.Â
Your throat felt suddenly tight. Like something bitter was stuck. âIs that why you admire her so much?â you asked, and you hear your voice crack a little. Hopefully with the distance, Xavier wouldnât notice.Â
He didnât. âI donât know,â he repeated, still unsure of himself. He seemed as lost as you. âI just want to get to know her, you know?â
Deep in your chest, you felt your heart crack a little. It felt like the lightweightness you had felt only a few minutes earlier were gone, leaving your rib cage feeling like it was crushed by vines.Â
And yet, you couldnât help but swallow everything, the bitter taste, the petals that started to gather in your lungs and the burning sensation of tears, and put on a brave smile.Â
âWell then, good luck Xav,â you smiled, hoping that your lips wouldnât wobble too much. âI hope youâll succeed in that.â
After all, you were his best friend. It wasnât fair of you to stop him from reaching new friends, you had never had any problem with any of them before. But once again, none of his other friends had captivated him like that.Â
As you walked away once again, you heard him call you again.Â
âYouâre still my girl, you know that right?âÂ
His words made you stop. Slightly glancing behind your shoulder, you could see his sad eyes plagued with guilt; but you knew better, and recognized the sparkle in them. The unmistakable sparkle that twinkled in his eyes when you were speaking in hushed tones together, sharing secrets and moments, only the two of you. When he called you his girl, like he started to years ago. The two kids whose guardians were too busy to properly take care of, who swore to have each otherâs back.Â
The familiarity of the nickname flooded your heart with warmth, and to Xavierâs relief it also made your lips curl into a fond smile.Â
âYeah,â you answered softly, âI know.âÂ
Walking to your next class, you felt lighter than before. The oppressing sensation of your lungs being squeezed was still here, always crawling behind your rib cage, but it felt like there was a little less pressure than before. Maybe there would be fewer petals today.Â
âAh, there you are!â cheered Enid the next day, as you joined her on the yard after one of your classes. âGuess what! Wednesday agreed to substitute for Yokoâs role as co-captain for the race!â
âReally?â you asked, giving your gloomy roommate a surprised look.Â
âI never turn down an occasion for a crushing revenge,â she said flatly.Â
âItâll be a roomie's bonding time!â squealed Enid, looking at the both of you excitedly. âAll three of us, competing for the Poe cup!â
Wednesday raised her eyebrow at you, âI didnât take you for the type to indulge in those childish games, Y/N. You just lost my entire respect.â
You shrugged, still unaffected by your new roommateâs brutal comments, âThe schoolâs offering an occasion to legally try to drown other students, Iâd be stupid to not have fun in that.â
âFair enough,â she observed sharply. âYouâve regained my respect.âÂ
That made you chuckle. Even if the apparent infatuation of Xavier for Wednesday pained you, you genuinely enjoy your new roommateâs company. She was weird, but again, everyone kind of was at Nevermore.Â
âWhat are you and Xavier to each other?â asked Wednesday suddenly.Â
The unexpected change of subject made you choke slightly. You had definitely not seen that one coming.Â
âExcuse me?â you said perplexed.Â
âI asked about the nature of the relationship between you and Xavier Thorpe,â deadpanned Wednesday.
God, why was her question making you so uneasy suddenly? You had never minded to bring the subject up, after all rumors at Nevermore were frequent and you were indeed close with him. But after what had happened - or almost happened - last time in his room, you werenât so sure of what to say. Licking your lips nervously, unsure of how to present things, you turned to your other roommate silently pleading for help. But Enid only giggled excitedly.Â
âTheyâre best-friends to lovers' material,â she said with an amused smile.Â
âI donât understand a single word you had just said,â sneered back Wednesday.Â
âWe grew up together,â you finally said to interrupt Enid from spilling all of her theories about the two of you. âWeâre close friends thatâs all.âÂ
The blonde werewolf gave you a wicked smile, âSuuuure you are.â
Rolling your eyes, you refocused on Wednesday, âWhy are you asking?âÂ
She only narrowed her eyes at you, âGathering intel on potential suspects, thatâs all.â
That brought a nervous laugh out of you, âExcuse me, what?âÂ
âNothing for you to worry about,â she snapped back, âif I ever need information about him I know who Iâll need to bribe,â she finished before turning and walking away.Â
You stood here dumbfounded for a moment, before coming after her.Â
âHey!â you called her as you caught up with her until you were now facing her. âI donât know what youâre suspecting of, but Xavierâs innocent, alright? And I wonât tell you anything if youâre trying to drag dirt on him, okay?â
Wednesday stared at you before answering, âYouâd make an acceptable person if you didnât let your emotions cloud your judgment so pathetically.â
âThank you for the advice about social skills,â you said dryly, âbut also, none of your damn business.âÂ
She only shrugged and stepped away. âHeâll come to me anyway, considering heâs acting like a sad puppy for some reason.âÂ
As she walked away, her words rang in your head. The harsh squeeze on your lungs it suddenly triggered was proof enough that she was unfortunately right.Â
The day of the Poe cup came around faster than you expected. Still, you were glad for the occasion to drift your mind away from the plaguing thought of your concerning condition. Enid and Wednesday were still unaware of it; when the coughs had started to shake you awake at night, your silencing spell had come handy. Now you cast it almost every night to prevent your roommates from hearing your gruesome choking.Â
âAww we match!â clapped Enid as you and Wednesday joined the rest of the team in your cat costumes.Â
âDonât get used to it,â groaned the Addams.Â
âSo, are we ready?â asked the werewolf, âEveryone knows what they have to do?â At the collective nod, she cheered again and all the team members took place in the canoe.Â
âI thought youâd be co-captain, Y/Nâ observed Wednesday while grabbing her paddle.Â
âIâm much more useful at the back, trust me,â you said with a grin, âwitch powers.â
That almost brought the tiniest smile to her face. At least Wednesday seemed to enjoy the competitive aspect of the race. Glancing to your right to the Joker's canoe, you caught a glimpse of Xavier at the front of the boat. You looked at his face painted in creepy clown makeup, and for a brief moment, you thought that he was actually pretty attractive like that. Shaking your head to chase the intrusive thought you mentally scowled yourself. Now was not the time! Despite that you glanced at him once again; only to feel your heart squeeze a little more at the sight of him looking to Wednesday. His words a few days prior rang in your head. Youâre still my girl, you know that, right? Yes, you knew. But even if you were his girl, his oldest friend, it wasnât you he was currently staring at like you were the only person in the world. You couldnât hold back the cough that pushed itself out of your throat violently this time. The intensity of your coughing fit was new, shaking you so hard you ended up bent in half with your hand clutched on your mouth, trying to tune down your stifling noises.Â
âY/N, you okay back there?â called Enid from her seat.Â
The wet sensation on your hand made you wince. âIâm fine,â you wheezed, â âs nothingâÂ
As soon as the coughs calmed down, you threw whatever you had regurgitated on the canoe floor before anyone could notice. Lifting your head up to recompose yourself, you caught sight of the face of your best friend, concerned in his eyes.Â
âYou alright?â you saw Xavier mouth.Â
The only thing you could do was to nod before the sound of a blown horn indicated the start of the race. Without wasting a single minute, every team started to row like their life depended on it. Your eyes briefly flickered to your feet; between them laid three whole white lilies tainted with blood. You gulped. Now was really not the time.Â
After an eventful crossing of the lake, where you had your head almost chopped off by the Jokerâs ax, your team finally managed to reach the island. While Wednesday ran to find the flag, you stayed to ensure nobody tried to sabotage your canoe â as Enid did to the Jokerâs.Â
As you saw the two other teams coming back with their flags and sail again you started to worry about Wednesday. Has something happened to her? Before you and Enid started to talk about who should check on her, she appeared again, flag in hand.Â
âI got it, letâs go!â
All of your team jumped in your canoe in a hurry, and left the island in the blink of an eye.Â
âWeâre far behind everyone else!â shouted one of your teammates. âWeâre not gonna make it!â
âY/N!â shouted Enid, âThink you can give us a little push?âÂ
Immediately dropping your paddle inside the boat, you inhaled deeply, âI can! Brace yourselves ladies, hold tight!âÂ
Trying to slow down your breathing you concentrated hard, reaching down to your powers and started to mutter the words of incantation. The water at the back of the boat suddenly started to shiver, and the next thing your team knew, the canoe was propelled onward by a hard push. They all gripped the edges of the boat to steady themselves as you gained speed, rapidly gaining a foothold your opponents.Â
âThatâs amazing!â screamed Enid over her shoulder, âHow long do you think can hold this?â
Deep into concentration you tried to not break the spell, âLong enough for us to reach the shore if everything goes smoothly!âÂ
Out of the corner of your eye you noticed a move in the water. One of the sirens.Â
âWednesday!â you called her, âEight oâclock!â
She whipped her head, immediately identifying the threat and nodded sharply. Thing crawled out from under her seat, and dove into the water. Oh, you loved that hand.Â
The outline of the shores were noticeable by now, so you reached deeper into your powers to try to give your boat a little more speed. The canoe accelerated again, going past Biancaâs team's flowing boat, but as you thought you could make a home run of this crossing, a violent cough startled you. The sudden stop in the push of your power shook the boat, your other team mates screaming in surprise while you tried the hardest to breathe.Â
âWhatâs going on?!â asked Enid.Â
Failing to swallow your coughs you could only hope for this fit to be a brief one, âDonât cough stop,â you wheezed from your seat, âstart cough cough paddling, weâre almost there!â
They all grabbed their paddles and started to paddle like their lives depended on it. You tried to keep up their paces, but the unforgiving coughs were weakening you too much. For a moment, you wondered if you werenât going to pass out in the canoe. But then, as you approached the shore the euphoria of close victory on the boat gained you, and with a rush of adrenaline, you jumped out of the boat with your teammates, rushing to the finish line.Â
Cheers echoed everywhere around you, congratulating the Ophelia team. Even the feeling of petals scratching in your throat couldnât ruin your joy for once. You knew swallowing it down was coming to bite you later, and that you were going to spend the evening throwing up petals and blood, but for now you wanted to feel normal.Â
Below on the shore, as the other teams reached the land Xavierâs eyes landed on a white and red spot on the ground of the black catâs canoe. He frowned at the bloodied flowers, especially when he realized they were where you had sat. How did the flowers end up here?Â
Whipping his head in the direction of the joyful cheers, his eyes landed on you, your broad smile as Enidâs arms were thrown over your shoulders. It had been a long time since he hadnât seen you smile like that.Â
But the way you turned away your face and covered your mouth with your hand to cough, just for a few seconds, didnât escape him. Nor the slight smudge of blood dripping on the corner of your mouth just before you wiped it.Â
His eyes flickered to the blood-coated flowers in the boat, then back to you and a cold feeling suddenly sank inside of him.Â
Something felt off. Xavier didnât know why yet, but something about you was very, very wrong.

Would you be willing to write about Xavier x Reader with plant-related powers who is usually by herself in her own little club - much like Eugene - and they end up becoming friends and maybe something more? Perhaps he was practicing archery and one of the arrows ended up where she keeps her plants. Anyway, thanks in advance!

YES YES YES. Okay Iâm in love with this request, I have actually written another Xavier x reader where she has plant based powers, but it doesnât get mentioned as much, so getting to expand on this is just ahhh đŤśđť honestly I was thinking like Isabela Madrigal type abilities with this. Hope I did this justice! Definitely not writing this in school lol.

You always were a bit of a loner, your shy personality made it difficult to be able to make friends with others. So, often you surrounded yourself with plants, being that your abilities were based solely around them.
Ever since childhood, youâd been more in tune with nature than any of your peers. Your parents passed that off, thinking you just naturally had a green thumb like your grandmother. However, it wasnât until you started growing flowers by accident when your emotions took control, that your parents realized you inherited the family gift that skipped every few generations.
Thatâs how you ended up at Nevermore. Being the president, and only member, of the Botany Club. Sure, you had a few friends, but you didnât exactly go out of your way in order to hang out with them. You preferred your plants, and you liked staying out of the spotlight. Keeping exceptional grades, especially in Ms. Thornhillâs carnivorous plants class, and just doing your best to get through another uneventful semester.
You were in your greenhouse, not far from the school, taking care of the plants. It was club activity time, meaning that Eugeneâs bees were out and about. Some usually found their way to your little area, which you didnât mind, they needed the pollen in order to make their honey. Of course, Eugene was nice enough to offer you honey since his bees used your plants. Heâs always mentioning how the honey made from your plants always turned out better, and much richer tasting than any other honey.
You were broke from your thoughts as you heard the shatter of one of your clay pots. Perking up and walking outside of the greenhouse, you saw a tall boy, sheepishly picking up an arrow from the potting soil and broken clay that held your white carnations.
Xavier had gotten bored of shooting at targets, so he decided that he would try his luck in the woods, not far from the school. However, his unlucky streak seemed to have other plans. As he had released an arrow, which was supposed to hit a tree, it flew right past where heâs been aiming. He winced at the sound of something shattering, running to find what he hit.
Thatâs when he found your greenhouse, and saw that he had broken a flower pot that held white flowers, which he didnât know the name of. He bent and picked up the arrow, looking up to see a girl staring at him, making his face burn in embarrassment.
âI- Uhm, Iâm so sorry. I didnât mean to hit your flowers.â He stuttered out. You didnât respond, only pursing your lips as you moved to pick up the, already wilting, flowers from the soil. Turning to find a empty pot, which you filled with soil and placed the flowers inside. With a wave of your hand, the flowers were back to their normal look, not wilted.
Xavier stared in awe as he watched you bring back the life to the carnations, his mouth agape. However he snapped out of it once you turned back to face him. âOh.. youâre still here.â You said, promptly turning on your heel and heading back towards the entrance of your greenhouse. âHey! Wait, whatâs your name?â Xavier hurried after you, his interest now peaked.
Sure, he had seen you before, you were the quiet girl in his carnivorous plants class, the quiet girl that normally sat closest to the window every chance you could. Yeah, he had noticed you before, but you kept yourself from the spotlight, and he was now interested, caught like a fly in a fly trap.
You stopped in your tracks, this boy wanted to know your name? After debating for a minute, and feeling his gaze burning in the back of your head, âY/n.â You finally stated, turning to face him, not expecting that he would be less than five feet from you. His closeness made you stumble back, landing against the plexiglass of the greenhouse.
âSorry! Didnât mean to startle you.â He stepped back as you righted yourself, he sure did apologize a lot. âNice to meet you, Y/n. Iâm Xavier Thorpe.â He told you, of course you knew his name already. Youâd seen him around the quad, painting his murals. Youâd seen him in the few classes you had together, while he was sketching and paying absolutely no attention to what was being taught.
âI know.â You said as you went about the greenhouse, watering the plants and flowers. Xavier tilted his head, you knew him? Of course you did, he was the schoolâs resident tortured artist. Obviously you knew who he was.
Checking the time, you saw that club activities were over. Packing your bag, you walked from the greenhouse with Xavier following not far behind. You locked up the door and turned back towards the school, beginning the short walk to the campus. âSo.. youâre in the botany club?â Xavier asked, breaking the silence. âOnly member.â You replied shortly, his general presence made you nervous. He was close enough that you could feel his body heat radiating off of him in the cold weather. You pulled your uniform jacket closer to yourself, making it back to the school and parting ways.
Xavier actively began seeking you out, skipping his own club time to hang out with you in the greenhouse. Since your first meeting, Xavier had not been able to get you out of his head. Which resulted in a few late nights in his art shed, hunched over a canvas, painting the moment you had used your ability on those carnations.
You had gotten used to Xavierâs presence around, he began sitting with you in class, and even went as far to find out where you ate your lunch on a normal basis. The both of you had settled into a routine, and you had gotten comfortable enough with each other that eventually Xavier let you into his art shed, obviously he hid any drawings he had of you, thinking you would find him weird.
âHey, Y/n, could you give me an opinion on this?â He asked you one night, while you both were in his shed. You had been studying for an upcoming exam in one of your classes and needed a quiet place, having found that you enjoyed the subtle background noise as Xavierâs paint brush glided across a canvas, it was an obvious choice.
Standing from the little desk Xavier had cleared for you to use, you went over to where he had the canvas propped onto an easel. Looking at the painting, you almost gasped. The painting was of a bouquet of six red roses, held in a masculine hand, it was painted in a first person point of view. Even though it was unfinished, yow were still in awe of it. âItâs amazing, Xavier! Where did you get the inspiration for this?â You asked, racking your brain to try to remember the meaning of six red roses.
âI had a dream and thatâs all I could see.â He told you, half lying. Yes he had seen the roses, but you had also been in his dream, it was such a vivid dream that he didnât want to forget. You were wearing a gorgeous sage green dress, smiling at him with a smile he had only seen you show when you were alone with him. âSo.. whoâs the lucky girl? Or guy.â You asked, your tone was slightly dejected and sad sounding.
Xavier looked at you with wide eyes, confused. âWhat do you mean?â He turned to face you, âSix roses. Theyâre a symbol for infatuation, or to tell someone you want to be theirs.â You hummed, staring at the canvas, a tightness in your chest as you thought about who he couldâve been dreaming about. âOh.â Was all Xavier could say, not aware that you knew the meaning of what he painted, which impressed him.
Inhaling sharply, and turning back to the desk, you picked up your belongings. âIâve gotta get going, Enid is forcing me to go shopping with her and Wednesday for the RaveâN. Talk to you later, Xav.â You excused yourself, making an excuse to leave. You felt suffocated in the small shed.
Xavierâs mind swirled with the thoughts of someone having already asked you to the dance, you werenât but a few feet from the door until Xavier gently grabbed your wrist, stopping you in your tracks. âUh, Xavier?â You asked as you turned to him. He looked nervous, like the same sheepish boy the day you first met him.
âY/n, do you have a date to the RaveâN?â The question almost made you choke, why was he asking? âUh, no? Iâm only going cause Enid wants a wingwoman so she can ask out Wednesday.â You told him, pulling your wrist from his hand. He seemed to relax, sighing and looking at you in the eyes. God he could loose himself in your eyes, so many times has he painted your eyes that each speck of color was ingrained in his mind.
âXav? You okay?â You asked him, feeling his forehead to see if he was running a fever. Nothing. âI wanted to ask you something, but I donât want it to hurt our friendship.â He admitted, scared of ruining the trust he had built with you.
Your heart rate quickened, was he?- âWill you be my date to the RaveâN?â He cut off your thoughts. Yes, he was asking you to the dance. You smiled, âAbsolutely.â You spoke and pulled him into a hug, you werenât sure when you began to develop feeling for the artist, but you definitely realized it when you began accidentally growing flowers that reminded you of him every time you thought of him.
He held you tightly, over the moon with happiness. You pulled away from him, âLooks like I have a reason to go shopping with Enid now.â You joked, stepping back. You definitely couldnât keep the werewolf waiting, now.

This is an idea I had thought of and wanted to write, donât remember what I had been doing but I immediately went to my notes and wrote a general idea on this, so here is a fleshed out version! I want to say that readerâs father is NOT Fester!
Masterlist
Having a crazy and obsessive father was difficult. Thatâs what led you to run from him, showing up on your Aunt Morticia and Uncle Gomezâs doorstep, seeking refuge in their home. They knew how your father could get and allowed you to stay with them. You were 13, they couldnât leave you to fend for yourself. Something that just sort of happened was that Wednesday basically became your bodyguard, she was never far from you anytime you were at school or in public. So, after being expelled for throwing piranhas into the swim teamâs pool during their practice, you obviously had to go with her to her new school, Nevermore.
Now, you werenât a normie, obviously since you were an Addams. You had an innate ability to control plants and organic objects around you. And seeing that there were woods that surrounded the Nevermore campus, it made you feel at home already. Pugsley had taken a liking to calling you ânymphâ because of your closeness to nature. It was a sour parting when your aunt, uncle and younger cousin had to leave. Pugsley had given you and Wednesday a tight hug, while you had patted his back and gave him encouraging words, Wednesday was⌠well, she was Wednesday. Your aunt gave you and your cousin each a pendant, while Wednesdayâs could turn into a âWâ and âMâ for Wednesday and Morticia, yours had a carefully crafted tree on it. You smiled softly and thanked your aunt, giving her a hug before she got into the car where Lurch stood by, holding open the car door. Then they were off.
It had been barely a month since youâve arrived at Nevermore Academy, and somehow your cousin has found herself playing detective in a search for a monster that most werenât even sure existed. Of course, you believed her and have helped her in her investigation.
Despite Wednesdayâs many complaints, you were given a single room, while Wednesday had to deal with a roommate who was the exact opposite of her. You thought it was good for Wednesday to have some social interaction with someone besides you or her family. Many of her complaints consisted of her trying to reason that she needed to protect you from your father, as she had been doing for the past three years. However, you were quick to shut her down.
âWednesday, if he hasnât found me yet, how in the hell do you think he would find me in a school for outcasts in a little town thatâs barely on the map?â You had told her one day, during an outing in Jericho to go to the Weathervane. Of course, your cousin stayed silent, knowing that it was unlikely that your father would find you. You were good at covering your tracks.
It wasnât long until Tyler Galpin, a normie and someone who had taken interest in your cousin, sat down with you both. You tensed, Tyler did not give you good vibes ever since you first met him, however your cousin seemed to never notice your state of nervousness whenever Tyler was around. It didnât help that he was sitting next to you, and you were trapped inside the booth.
You stared at the table for the remainder of the time you and your cousin were at the Weathervane, unwilling to speak up that you wanted to leave in the case that you were going to be seen as rude. Thatâs when your phone buzzed, a text from Enid saved you. âSorry Wednesday, but Enid says sheâs having a crisis and needs me back at Nevermore.â You spoke up as Wednesday and Tyler talked over theories about who the monster could be. Tyler got the hint that you needed to leave and moved from the booth to allow you to slide past in order to leave. Wednesday just nodded, âDonât get yourself killed.â She said as Tyler sat back down, you knew that was just her way of telling you to be safe. You nodded and left the Weathervane without another word, making your way from Jericho back to the school.
You were barely 5 minutes into the wooded part of the Nevermore campus when you got the eerie feeling that you were being watched, the hair on the back of your neck standing on end. You stopped to look around, only hearing the chirp of birds and the noise of bugs.
Hesitantly, you started walking again, this time at a much quicker pace. Already having your phone out with Enid on speed dial and ready to take off or fight for your life at a moments notice. There was no way in hell you were going to die in the woods, alone.
Thatâs when you heard a twig snap, stopping once again you looked around, taking note that it wasnât you who stepped on a twig and broke it. Thatâs when you felt a presence behind you, immediately your instinct and training from Wednesday kicked in. Spinning around, you took control of some of the vines on the ground and used them to wrap the figure up and keep them from moving, they fell to the ground with a deep grunt, groaning as the vines tightened around them.
When your initial adrenaline wore off, you were able to make out the Nevermore uniform, specifically the male uniform. âFuck, Y/n, didnât think you would attack someone like that.â Xavier groaned as he was still constricted by the vines. âThatâs why you donât sneak up on a girl in the middle of the damn woods!â You exclaimed, letting the vines go of your control and allowing them to unwrap from Xavier.
You held out your hand to help him stand up, which he took in response. He brushed himself off, standing in front of you. âSorry, sorry. Donât sneak up on girls in the woods, got it.â He mumbled, âwhat were you doing out here anyway?â He asked, but you gave him an incredulous look, âWhere else would I be going? Iâm heading back from town to the school. Enid messaged me that she had something urgent going on and needed my help.â You told him as you turned and began to walk away from the artist.
You and Xavier had an odd dynamic going on, some days you both could be civil with each other, other days you were ready to rip his throat out just listening to him talk. Right about now, you were borderline annoyed with the boy, in between being civil and tying him up with vines again. You almost groaned as he caught up with you easily, âCurse his long legs.â You thought. âWhat were you doing in Jericho?â He asked you, watching your expression carefully. âI was with Wednesday at the Weathervane.â You answered shortly, not wanting to delve into detail of your most recent outing with your cousin. From the corner of your eye, you saw Xavier nod stiffly. âOdd,â You thought, âHeâs never stiffened at the mention of Wednesday..â you squinted at him, suspiciously.
âNow, what were you doing out here?â You turned his own question on him, he looked at you and shrugged, âCame to clear my head,â he told you but you looking at him seemed to make the boy nervous, something he never usually was when around you. He normally matched your energy, which made you even more suspicious of Xavier. âOkay.â There was something up with Xavier, and you knew it. But you didnât want him to catch onto your suspicion, so you pretended that you believed him.
There was a silence between the both of you as you reached Nevermore, âSee you later, Xav.â You said to him as you walked away, heading to Enid and Wednesdayâs dorm in Ophelia Hall.
You seemed to run into Xavier in the woods a lot more than usual, especially on your daily stroll through the woods which youâve recently been going on alone, since Wednesday was too busy with her investigation to join you. Each time you met in the woods, he seemed much more different than during school. Like he was a completely different person. Eventually, you decided to confront him about it, when he once again interrupted your stroll.
âWhat has been goin on with you lately, Xavier? Youâve been acting completely different lately, especially out of class.â You told him as he once again, joined you on a walk through the woods. âWhat do you mean, Y/n?â He tried to play you off, but you knew Xavier. He wouldnât dismiss accusations against him, youâve learned that since Wednesday began suspecting him and he found out about it. Thatâs how you realized.
âYouâre not Xavier.â You whispered, barely loud enough for âXavierâ to hear. When you looked up again, someone else was smirking at you, and it was someone you hoped to never see again. âHello, princess.â Your fatherâs dark eyes bore into you as you were struck with fear, unable to move or make a sound as he walked towards you. âIâve been watching you for a while now, such a shame that you saw through my disguise.â He stated as he caressed your face, his fingers lingering through a strand of your hair. âWhy donât you come home, princess? You belong with me. I am your father, after all.â
Finally, your sense came back to you and you moved away from him immediately. âNo, you arenât my father.â He began to look angry as you said that. âI donât belong anywhere with you, and Iâm sure as hell not your princess!â You shouted at him. By now, the man in front of you was fuming with anger, he reached for your arm and took hold of you in a vice grip, harshly pulling you towards him.
âUngrateful little bitch! I created you, you are mine! You decide nothing for yourself.â His gripped tightened and you let out a yelp of pain, trying to pull from him. âLet go of me! Iâm not going with you!â However, your father was much stronger than you, slapping you across the face as your head was immediately sent reeling to the side, your cheek stinging in pain. The hit was hard enough that it scrambled your thoughts, which allowed your father to pick you up without a fight and begin walking away from Nevermore.
Neither of you were aware that Thing had been following you. The hand immediately went to the closest person he could find to get help.
The sound of the shed door opening alerted Xavier that someone had entered his art studio, however he did not expect to find Thing frantically tugging at his pant leg, signing something Xavier couldnât make out. However Xavier knew something was wrong, extremely wrong. âShow me.â Was all Xavier had to say and Thing was leading him into the woods.
Coming back to your senses, you were tossed over your fatherâs shoulder as he took you somewhere you didnât recognize. You began thrashing around in his grip, âLet go of me! Someone help!â You screamed, hoping by some miracle, someone would be in the woods and hear you. âStop squirming!â Your father shouted and threw you off his shoulder, your bodying hitting the hard ground and knocking your breath away from you, your lungs gasping for air. âYou will come home. You will obey me. And you will never run from me again.â He seethed, his boot landing a kick to your ribs, then your stomach and head.
Tears filled your eyes, pain shooting everywhere throughout your body, you could hardly think. Hoping that someone would find you. Your father grabbed you and lifted you up by the collar of your shirt, âIâll just have to break you into submission if you wonât be a good little girl.â Your father grinned at you as your half lidded eyes could hardly stay open, but you knew he was raising his fist to strike at you again.
âGet away from her!â You heard as you felt your self be dropped again, your father being tackled away from you, you could make out the shape of a hand in front of you, âThing..â you whispered before having passed out from exhaustion.
Xavier had followed Thing at least a mile into the woods, adrenaline rushing through his veins, he didnât know who was in danger but he knew they were important to Thing, so that left him with either two options. You, or Wednesday.
When he saw a man lifting you up by the collar of your shirt and his fist readying to hit you, something snapped in Xavier. Anger boiled over in him as he got close enough to see how terrible of shape you were in, blood covered half of your face and blood ran from your nose, your clothes torn and dirty. âGet away from her!â He shouted as he tackled the man away from you, blinded by pure and utter rage. All Xavier knew was that he had to protect the girl he had begun to accept his feelings for, and the scariest part was that he mightâve not ever gotten to tell her if he hadnât been there in time to save her. Xavier didnât stop until the man was a bloodied, unconscious mess. When he calmed down, Thing was tugging on the sleeve of his arm, ushering him to check on you.
You woke up in a hospital bed, looking around to see many get well soon cards, flowers, and other little gifts. Your head was fuzzy, but the last thing you remembered was dropping onto the ground and seeing Thing before it all went blank. No one was in the room with you, it was dark outside so you knew all of your friends and cousin were told to go back to Nevermore. Realizing that your throat was scratchy and you desperately needed some water, you pressed the small âhelpâ button on the side of your bed. It wasnât long until a nurse and doctor rushed in to check on you, your throat hurt but somehow the nurse was able to understand that you needed water and left the room, retuning a few minutes later with a cold cup of water.
While the doctor did some checks on your vitals, you asked the nurse if she could inform principal Weems that you were awake, she nodded but told you it would be until the next day that anyone would be able to visit you. The doctor finished his check up and left the room with the nurse, allowing you some rest.
The next morning came quickly, and you were reminded of how much pain you were in when you attempted to sit up, âMs. Addams, please stay laying down.â You heard a womanâs voice and looked to see principal Weems, standing in the doorway of your hospital room along with sheriff Galpin. âSorry to question you so soon after waking up, but the station needs a statement about what happened when you were attacked. Wednesday told us that was your father, correct?â The sheriff asked you, quick to cut to the chase. A shiver ran down your spine as he mentioned your father, âYes, that wasâŚâ you were interrupted by a coughing fit, â⌠that was my father.â You continued after the coughing had stopped. âWhat happened before Xavier got to the scene?â That question threw you, Xavier was the one who saved you? You shook yourself out of it, youâd worry about that later. âMy father had disguised himself as Xavier and intercepted me during a walk, when I realized he was not Xavier, thatâs when he began telling me that I had to go home with him, that he made me and owned me, that I was nothing without him. When I refused and tried to leave, he grabbed me. Itâs a little fuzzy from there, but I remember a sting across my cheek and being carried away, I think I came to at one point and started fighting back. Thatâs when he threw me on the ground and started beating me.â You had to take a shaky breath to keep yourself from breaking down, âthen he picked me up, and thatâs when he was tackled away from me. I had no idea that it was Xavier who saved me.â
Once sheriff Galpin had finished getting your statement, and reassuring you that your father would be put away for a long time, you were discharged from the hospital and allowed to return to Nevermore. When you and Weems arrived, a large crowd of students were waiting to welcome you back, no doubt the work of Enid and Yoko.
When you stepped out of the car, Enid and Wednesday were the first ones to be by your side. Enid engulfed you into a hug, while Wednesday tried to keep her from smothering you and breaking anymore of your ribs. âEnid, she doesnât need anymore broken ribs.â She chided the bubbly werewolf, who immediately let go and apologized. You looked at the crowd of students, recognizing some faces and not recognizing others. However, the one face you hoped to see, was not there. âWhereâs Xavier?â You asked, hoping one of them knew where the artist was. âHeâs been sulking like a lost puppy ever since you were put in the hospital, Iâd bet heâs in his art shed right now.â Wednesday told you, keeping her accusatory remarks to herself, he did save his cousinâs life after all. The least she could do was cut him some slack.
âOh, I was hoping I could talk to him.â Your mood significantly dampened since the guy who literally saved your life, couldnât be bothered to welcome you back. âHey, donât look so upset, he did stay by your side the entire time you were asleep in the hospital!â Enid attempted to console you. You smiled at her, and at the thought of Xavier worrying over you. You decided that, for the time being, you would settle back into your routine and confront Xavier later.
It was a few hours later when Xavier showed up at your dorm room, knocking on the door. When you opened the door, you were greeted by a even more tired looking Xavier, the bags under his eyes were darker than before and he looked like he hadnât had a proper sleep in ages. âXavier, you okay? You look like you havenât slept in days.â You worried over him, but her just looked at you with such emotion in his eyes that you couldnât tell what her was feeling.
Then he stepped closer and pulled you into a hug, burying his face into your neck. Hesitantly you hugged him back, unsure of what exactly was going on. Half the time, you and Xavier couldnât stand each other. The other half was spent laughing and making jokes about each other. You had never seen Xavier so vulnerable before.
Before you knew it, Xavier was crying while hugging you, hiccups interrupting him every few sobs. âHey, hey. Xavi, whatâs wrong? Why are you crying?â You pushed him away slightly, so you could look at his face. âI thought I was going to lose you.â He rasped, âAnd when I saw your dad holding you like that, limp and lifeless, I realized just how important you are to me.â He hiccuped as he explained.
You pulled him back into the hug, rubbing his back as he continued to sob. You didnât know where this was coming from, but over the past few months, you had realized that he meant more to you than you originally thought. âY/n, I love you, and I have no idea what I wouldâve done if you were taken away from me.â Xavier spoke again, this time clearer. You were shocked, you figured your feelings for him would end up being one sided, so you pushed them far far down. However, those feelings bubbled to the surface as he said those words. âI love you too, Xavier.â You replied, you could see him visibly relax at your words.
âLet me take you on a date, whatever you want to do, weâll do it.â He told you as you smiled up at him, he leaned down and leaned his forehead against yours, both of you closing your eyes and enjoying each others embrace. âIâd love to go on a date with you.â He smiled and as you both looked at each other you shared your first kiss, of many to come.
Yeah, Xavier saved your life. He was your artist in shining armor.
Girl in the Painting
After taking a closer look at Xavierâs paintings, Wednesday realizes he wasnât having dreams of her at all. But she does know the girl in the paintings and sheâs decided that this one good deed shouldnât kill her.
Words: 6.6K Authorâs Note: Wednesday AU. Iâm well aware Xavier never had dreams of Wednesday; he just painted her because heâd seen her and âinstantly fell in loveâ. For this, however, Iâm saying heâs dreamt of her, possibly even before she showed up to Nevermore, and she realizes later on she was never actually the center of his dreams. Also, TRIGGER WARNING for mentions of past attempted sexual assault. Itâs brief.
