The Starbucks Planner 2016 by Moleskine: Is It Worth It?

To some, or rather, to those who like to collect stuff, yes, it is worth it. Collection might be their passion and it can be a valid excuse, but if you’re just an average person running along the bandwagon, I should beg to disagree that it is worth it.

The mentality of most people nowadays is to get along with what’s trending. This particular planner by Starbucks, for one, is a huge knight of trend whenever the calendar hits November. People tend to spend irrational amount of money to just consume so much caffeine, without being aware of what effects it might leave into your body. In order to have this expensive planner, you should purchase nine (9) of their core beverages and nine (9) of their holiday featured beverages, and with each beverage comes with a sticker pasted on your planner coupon. Wow. That’s a lot of coffee. And because of that limited edition paraphernalia, there could also be a tendency to rush this planner on and with that being said, expensive coffee in simultaneous days. Sigh.

I won’t be afraid to admit that I, myself, collected these stickers, and I already have redeemed my planner, though I didn’t do it the OA (overacting) way. I would suggest that you can usually ask your friends out, both those who want stickers and those who do not, alike. In that case, you can accumulate multiple stickers in just one visit. That would be nice. Also, do not rush this planner out. Don’t visit Starbucks just to sit and contemplate your life because, believe me, you can do it better at home or best in the bathroom. See to it that you only visit this expensive coffee shop for a reason (i.e. coffee date, research, work, readings). That could be a less waste of time and money. And that, my friend, happened to be my tactics to have this planner the more rational way.

If you are to ask me if I've been using my Starbucks 2015 planner, yes I've been and I've utilized mine well. Although I've missed writing for three months, cause your homie has gone through depression. Hah!

What's with the SB planner that pushed me to have it? Simple. It's cute and I love, like loooove, writing stuff. Planners usually come in handy for me cause they also tend to be my semi-journal, my reminder notebook, and doodle pad. Hah! Also, SB planners are not plain, they have pages which contain words of wisdom and something to light up your day ahead, and that's a nice thing for me.

It could be worth it, it could not be. It depends on how you see it and how you plan to have it. After all, this planner will only last a year, dated, and made out of paper, as all planners do. You could utilize it well, you could not. You could keep it and you could lose it. The only thing that matters to this planner is that it has the “Starbucks” name branded on its front cover which makes it, pardon me, stand above all else.

WORDPRESS

I have constantly moved to Wordpress but that doesn’t mean I’ll disable my Tumblr nor leave it outdated.

As I’ve mentioned on my last entry, my laptop got broken, but Jay managed to retrieve 85% of my files in the hard drive. Unfortunately, my Tumblr files did not survive and fell under the jammed fifteen percent remaining so I’m having a trouble here transferring my entries to Wordpess . It is on under construction mode. Blahh.

I like it there cause it is more synchronized and I find it easier to navigate. I also have control over so many subjects which I did not experience here in Tumblr. But, yes. Tumblr will always be my home and that ♥ button shall never be forgotten.

My laptop, which has been my second boyfriend for four years, has already given up on me. Crap, yes!!! What hurt more than a broken laptop is the fact that thousands and thousands of my files are still in it, though I haven’t checked yet my hard drive (Jay will, on Saturday). My fingers are crossed to death that I can still retrieve even just my files cause they’re my life. Everything is in my laptop. Every effin’ thing.

So, yep. Why not follow me on Instagram, though?

OREO MARSHMALLOW BARS on a plain Saturday night

Hello! I ain't claiming anything here. This is just a product of a plain Saturday night.

I found this cute no-bake dessert on my Facebook news feed so I asked Jay to help me make it since he'll enjoy it as well. Mehehehe.

Finished product turned out not as good-looking as what I saw and the major culprit/s are the container and the aluminum foil! Though shall not use an aluminum foil and never use a huge container! I think wax paper would suffice. But the over-all taste is perfect and delicious! Next time we'll be doing it a lot better!

SIERRA MADRE HOTEL & RESORT, Tanay, Rizal | 9.19-20.2015 SET III

We strolled a little lower to the hillside to see more of the view. We seem to be at the bottom but how far up are we? I thought.

The family called us in and we trekked for five to ten minutes, I suppose, to witness this teensy falls with such a cold water! The path towards the destination was very steep both when we used the van and by foot. Along the way, we saw another swimming pool but this one had fresh water piled in it.

I’ve never been surrounded with so much green as these.

SIERRA MADRE HOTEL & RESORT, Tanay, Rizal | 9.19-20.2015 SET II

The sun rose up its highest the next morning so, yep, forget about the cold night. It ended there. Haha. We had breakfast and strayed around for, like, an hour or two.

There's the pool three or four flights below our terrace and I did not have any plans on swimming so...

Though the sunlight was undeniably hot, it was still quiet and relaxing. The breeze, though, was still a little cool so in tot, it didn't bother us that much.

SIERRA MADRE HOTEL & RESORT, Tanay, Rizal | 9.19-20.2015

Though this might be a terrible late upload, I’d still love to share the little time we spent among the mountains, hills, trees, and everything green of Tanay!

Rizal has been my hometown. I’m from San Mateo, Rizal. It is where I grew up but surprisingly, I haven’t seen this part of Rizal yet and it's a long drive from where I live. Maybe it’s because I’m on the Commonwealth-bound side of Rizal and it’s almost Quezon City. So. Jay's family set a weekend vacation and as soon as I set foot, I have loooved the ambiance. It's the perfect place for seeking tranquility. Only the sound of the chirping birds and crickets to be heard above everything else. It was sooooo quiet. And my favorite part was from the late afternoon we arrived until the time I went to hit the sack. It was veeeery cold, I can compare it to Tagaytay! Supeeer cold, as in! Luckily I wore my loose button-down shirt and it settled a little warmly of my life. Haha. 

There was a group of friends near our rooms (we reserved two rooms with a terrace facing the overlooking) and they pretty got a little overwhelmed and noisy but one thing they did that we liked was when one of them, a young lad, played his saxophone so well along with another one who had his guitar and it rhymed so beautifully with the cold night!! I enjoyed that part until it lasted. We just sit in a circle on the terrace with everyone in his family and had our relaxing dinner, shabu-shabu, drinks, and my most loved part, the laugh. It's like I'm one of them.

It has been a really cozy night and I loved it so much! I felt the need of sleep at 3am and I left Jay with the remaining of his family who were still awake to enjoy the rest of the dawn and next thing I knew, Jay was sleeping next to me... with flushed cheeks... obviously drunk. Hah!
