When they met in spring, "she" was the battle-trained daughter of a shamed Samurai who abandoned his master and left his family to their doom. "He" was a wandering outcast whose strange features terrified the people he encountered, and denied him the home he once had. When they met they did not know that they were on the brink of a war that no one could have ever imagined. A war so strange and horrifying that even these two unlikely characters would be accepted by the people who once looked down on them.
