I will prove to the world that my methods work, that I and I alone will use every hour in the day to become the strongest/be loved by all/to progress the future of umanity!
Bio: An umamusume who has figured out how to separate her sleep into shifts, and now
sleeps Unihemishperically! She regularly sleeps in 9 hour shifts, and is only fully awake during
the night.
Blue=her “left brain”: Hemi. A very logical and analytical uma who barely knows how to talk to people. She
tries to help others with her knowledge, but often comes across as off-putting.
Red=her “right brain”: Uni. An
extroverted, friendly uma who has a lot of trouble with thinking hard or analysing things.
Great at understanding emotions, but any techy or sciency talk just goes right over her head.
Purple=her full self:
Unihemi. Unihemi: A quiet, introverted uma who tends to be distrustful of strangers, but warms up to
close friends. This one is a night owl, enjoying using the track long after everyone else is
asleep (and past curfew).
Team: Mystical
Pronouns: She/They
Height: 160cm
Ears: The ear belonging to the side not active droops. Has issues with loud noises!
Tail: Very sensitive to the touch, weak to petting or brushing.
Appearance: Unihemispheric is a purple haired uma with a somewhat large chest, stomach,
and thighs. They tend to stay quite un-accessorised, save for the ribbon on their
left/right/both ears, used to help others distinguish what part is awake at any given time.
Hemi has a resting neutral face that she very rarely alters in the slightest, save for an eyebrow raising if something peaks her interest. Uni is constantly active and energetic,
constantly fidgeting and regularly walks on her tiptoes. Unihemi is more relaxed than Uni, and
her resting face is very still like Hemi’s, but she remains very expressive when talking to
others, and rarely stays still for long.
Likes: Nothing in particular/Chocolates, Flowers/Night, the cold
Family: hopes that their family will see them in the newspaper for heir achievements.
Personal Rule: Always take time to check in with yourself and reflect on the day.
Before a Race: Stretches, one side at a time.
Secrets: Eats 5 meals a day, 2 while everyone else is asleep. Regularly breaks curfew due
to not needing to sleep. Always switches who’s awake in the bathroom, even when alone.
*Unihemi takes the time... not to be on the track this night. Rather, she stays in her room, thinking about their past, and their first days of the greatest experiment of their life.*

Okay. You have edersies for your back, glasses for your eyes, i dont think any of that will actually help by the way-
But what about your internals? The heart? Thats pretty important for racing, but by not sleeping it youve given it pretty much zero breaks these past few months. During sleep, your heartrate decreases immensly giving it time to repair itself more while simultaniously reducing wear and tear.
If your constantly awake, then your cosntantly at minimum resting heart rate! And since you spend alot of your time training, thats not going to be the case!
Your heart is gona rupture the second you start a G1 dude. Its not gona be a pretty derby.
My heart is plenty strong, thank you very much. Do you think I haven't gone into this with preparation? If I hadn't done anything to prepare, then I would already be dead.
And before you ask, no, my muscles are not messed up either. In fact, they're very strong!
When will you anonymous idiots finally get that this works? That I did it, and I'm not hurting myself! You sound just like my parents! What next, you gonna tell me that transitioning is harmful for my body, and I'll die if I keep going? Well too bad! I'm an umamusume, and I AM UNIHEMISPHERICAL!!!! THIS IS WHO I AM, AND IT ISN'T! KILLING ME!
I wasn't claiming that it was. If you can't keep your emotions from blinding your perspective on this, then you might not be suited to research it.
I just want to help. I'm a medical professional and I would love to help oversee your research into this in a safe and sane manner. It's really interesting what you've managed to accomplish.
Might not be suited? T-This is my life's work! I've decided over a decade to this, and all anyone can see from itis the dangers! The most people have said is that it's "interesting", no-one seems to see the clear benefit to my work, the thousands of hours that can be saved and dedicated to other things, the way we as a species can grow with this! So what if my injuries take weeks to heal, o-or these idiots think there's problems with my back or eyes or heart? Does no one see how this is a positive?? Because it is! I have NOT wasted m-my life! This works! And when did this body start crying so easily??
*She's been talking with tears in her eyes the whole time. You're pretty sure the crying is just... due to her emotions, not any symptom of anything.*
We're far from that point, yet. I still need to do... a lot more research. I-I just want this info to be known on my terms, once I've found a solution.
*She enters... what looks like a pretty long password, and opens up the file.
It details every symptom of the procedure she's performed on herself.
Temporary ones, like how each hemisphere needed to acclimate to its new state, starting off unable to perform basic functions like seeing context or reading. Difficulty for each hemisphere to control half the body, and a needed time of around a month to "relearn" those things.
There is, of course, an explenaion of the main effects, that each hemisphere is active alone for 9 hours each day, with full consciousness for the remaining 6. The left hemisphere- more logical- and the right hemisphere- more emotional and contextual. In their case, their "sleeping habits" are incredibly consistent, though it is mentioned that this is due to discipline, and not a fundamental fact of this.
Then, the much bigger issues, the permenant symptoms. For one, the right hemisphere-Uni- can store information for the others to use, but cannot access it in many circumstances. Essentially, all readed learning or WIT simply cannot be accessed by her, and she is unable to incorporate book learning. That would be why Uni's racing technique is so... poor. She physically can't improve it, though what she is "taught" can be used by the others.
Likewise, the left hemisphere cannot feel or rea emotions. She is aware of their existance on a fundamental level, but cannot meaningfully engage in them. This also results in her not showing tone, nor understanding tone and struggling with social interaction in general, often misunderstanding metaphor, exaggeration, and many other aspects of social interaction. Once again, the other aspects will be aware of those emotions after the fact.
Then, the symptoms that Unihemi faces. Hallucinations, something akin to waking dreams. Not realistic enough that Unihemi doesn't recognise them as such, and therefore, able to be ignored... this entire time. There are also frequent headaches. Finally, there are issues regarding memory, ones that are mostly mitigated by Unihemi focusing on the prrvious day's events every night, as well as writing notes about them down in a diary on her phone.
Lastly, the bodily symptoms. The reason for this entire interaction- the heart- is listed. Adrenaline doesn't get made during Hemi's time, giving the heart a time where it's able to be more relaxed, however that doesn't mean the heart is in an especially good condition. It's noted that, though not encountered yet, heart conditions may become likely as the years pass. Thankfully, so the passage says, pacemakers and other medical advancements should mean that they won't be deadly, and there is no guarantee of heart complications, just... that it's much more likely. A risk factor.
There's also an incredible delay in how the body heals and recovers, bruises lasting weeks longer than they should, alongside cuts, scrapes, and minor sicknesses requiring more intervention and taking longer to heal. The eyes and back also suffer from the lack of time with eyes spent closed, or laying down, symptoms mostly mitigated through increased blinking, time spent with the eyes closed wherever possible, and eyedrops for the eyes, and rest time spent laid down as opposed to sitting, and regular back excercises for the back. The muscles in general seem to be in a... strange state. They appear more resistant to lactic acid-the chemical produced as a byproduct of your body needing more respiration than it can get through its breath intake- and seem incredibly strong, yet seem in a constant state of being overworked and are brittle as a result. Not just that, brittle seems to describe every part of her body.
Her food intake is also much higher, one of the most expected symptoms, and Hemi's lack of a delight or disgust response to the taste of food means that the meals she eats are just about perfect nutritionally, though Uni and Unihemi eat like normal. They have a total of 5 meals and regular snacks throughout the day, leaving their body with enough of the energy it needs. Admittedly, this seems like quite the manageable symptom.
There are also some other things listed down, which you recognise as... not actually being symptoms. Her feet started off hurting when running barefoot on most outdoor surfaces, but they don't get hurt from that any longer. That's just the natural result of moving barefoot on those surfaces for that long, you become much more able to. Why she was barefoot for that much time is... concerning, though. Other things misidentified as symptoms of this condition seem to align with... being... homeless. Mental conditions seem to also imply some other underlying issues stemming from some kind of trauma.
...wow, that's a lot of stuff. So much for "no negative side effects". Unihemi seems... like she really, REALLY didn't want to admit any o this to anyone.
Well, it's not like there's any going back, and I don't think you'd want there to be anyway. Even if I don't understand it, there is merit in wanting you to be healthy.
For starters, just intergrating maybe 10 to 15 minutes of meditation, during which you allow the different facets of your brain to connect and communicate with each other, should improve your overall health and help Uni with her lack of intelligence.
I do something similar to that on my night time runs, I let all of my mind think about the previous day's experiences, analyse them, and plan for the future as best I can. Each facet works together and we... in general, communicate well with each other.

...wow, that's a lot of stuff.
