Hey, Stranger.
So, it's been...uh.... 5 years since my last post. HA! I was laying in bed one morning last week thinking about how so much has changed and how badly I want to write about it and that I should pop back in here to do that. We'll see if I can make this a regular thing, but don't hold your breath.
SO - real quick - what's new? EVERYTHING, y'all.
I am currently a Private Investigator in North Texas, and I own my own business. It's an incredible experience and I can't believe it took me as long as it did to walk away from my soul-sucking job and get licensed, but I did.
In August of 2019 I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy and since then I've been awake in a way I have never experienced in those previous 39 years. I take medication at night that heavily sedates me so that I don't get as sleepy during the day. And I have CRAZY dreams. One day I'll share all the nutty stuff my brain does.
I'm 41. Yeah. You read that right. And Jack is 19. You read that right, too. I have lived so many lives in the last 41 years and though things are currently a giant struggle, I'm content and at peace in a way that I couldn't be when I was in my 20's and 30's.
Derek and I are happy and married and, not just that, but married for the longest of all the times we've been married (lol). December will be 8 years for us and I go to bed every night grateful that I'm falling asleep next to this beautiful, brilliant, flawed, incredible man. Granted, some of that is my narco medication, LOL, but it still comes from a that super deep place in my heart that has always belonged to him.
I don't do much photography anymore. I've learned to knit, though, and I love it. I have a garden that is still growing despite the insane Texas heat, though if it continues I don't know how long they'll last, we'll see.
