What would freak you out about more, If tonight you found out there was no God or if you found out you have no money?

If it doesn't matter that you fall then it doesn't matter if you stand. If it matters that you stand then it matters if you fall.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
John 17:3 NASB
Please pray for me
Human beings seem to have a perpetual tendency to have somebody else talk to God for them. …Such an approach saves us from the need to change, for to be in the presence of God is to change. …That is why meditation is so threatening to us. It boldly calls us to enter into the living presence of God for ourselves.

David Livingstone's life seems depressing and hard to find the bright side of but that is looking at it through his circumstances. He was asked how he could make it through the trials that he did and he said it was the truth that Jesus said, "lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." If you are feeling alone know that if you are found in Christ, you are never alone. ariellethelion
I wrote my last post with a very heavy heart. My heart cries out to serve The Lord. All I want is to do that. The other night in Prayer I heard God tell me very boldly that I can not function outside the church. When will I find a church that will accept me? How many doors will be closed in my face? Lord I need you. I need your church. I need wisdom.
What should divide a Church?
“Now concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies. If anyone supposes that he knows anything, he has not yet known as he ought to know; but if anyone loves God, he is known by Him. Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that there is no such thing as an idol in the world, and that there is no God but one. For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords, yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him. However not all men have this knowledge; but some, being accustomed to the idol until now, eat food as if it were sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. But food will not commend us to God; we are neither the worse if we do not eat, nor the better if we do eat. But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak. For if someone sees you, who have knowledge, dining in an idol's temple, will not his conscience, if he is weak, be strengthened to eat things sacrificed to idols? For through your knowledge he who is weak is ruined, the brother for whose sake Christ died. And so, by sinning against the brethren and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ. Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to stumble.” 1 Corinthians 8:1-13 NASB If you want to see one of the most striking examples of where we should draw the line for unity in the Church, look no further. This is a verse that doesn't seem like much at first reading and every time I have heard it preached on it was used as a proof verse of why Christians should not drink. But it is so much more than that. At first glance it seems like a local problem that Paul was addressing. It seemed like people were purchasing meat in the markets that was used in a sacrifice to a god. Since this animal was already slaughtered and they didn't have modern refrigeration they most likely bought it at a discounted price (I make this assumption because why would a Christian buy this meat over a none controversial meat? Unless they were dinning with their pagan neighbors, which also could have been possible) The people who ate this meat saw it as an act of worship to their deity. Since many Christians did not adhere to this polytheistic view they saw this as what it was, just a hunk of meat. Whatever god this was sacrificed to would get no pleasure of these Christians eating it because the God that it was sacrificed to does not exist. As Paul states, "there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him." He goes on to say that some grew up eating this as an act of worship and it is hard to see it as anything else. So we should not do anything to offend them and make them stumble. It is a beautiful lesson. He says even though we know we have the right understanding on this issue do not let your knowledge lead you into a spirit of arrogance. No matter what you know to be true come at the situation, not of doctrinal purity but of love and understanding. Essentially he says you being right is of no value to them. Paul says he knows he can eat anything but for their sake he won't. He will still teach them the truth and help lead them into a better understanding of the truth but he will do it with a gentle and understanding spirit. So this is Paul addressing the local problem. But if you look through the Bible you will see what he is addressing is a much bigger issue. The first time this is brought up is in Acts. People were going around and telling all of the gentile converts that they had to be circumcised and follow the law to be saved (Acts 15:1) so Paul and Barnabas went to Jerusalem and met with the Apostles and elders to clear up this matter. After a long debate they came to this agreement and wrote a letter. “and they sent this letter by them, "The apostles and the brethren who are elders, to the brethren in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia who are from the Gentiles, greetings. "Since we have heard that some of our number to whom we gave no instruction have disturbed you with their words, unsettling your souls, it seemed good to us, having become of one mind, to select men to send to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. "Therefore we have sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will also report the same things by word of mouth. "For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell."” Acts 15:23-29 NASB So all the apostles and elders of the Church got together and decided that they didn't have to be circumcised and follow the law but that they should still avoid meat sacrificed to idols. To put it all in a timeline, this Jerusalem council happened 2 to 7 years before Paul wrote 1st Corinthians. So seeing this in context, who exactly is Paul calling weak? Writing this it shows two opposing views of doctrine. Paul is standing in opposition to the Other Apostles and Elders. (On a side note, this is why I do not set my beliefs of any church council. The very first recorded Church council was left divided. They were a lot less sure about what they believed than many are today. at least they were humble enough to admit that they could only do what SEEMED good to them and the Holy Spirit, which is later taught against by Paul.) So the First Church Council was summoned to answer the question, "what is required to be saved?" (Acts 15:1) and as I pointed out, Paul disagreed with their conclusion. Now this is a core doctrine that divides many believers, Churches, and denominations today. Almost any church would be ok with this a starting point and a good reason to divide over. So is that what Paul did? Did he split from the other apostles and begin his own church? Did he go and write up a very detailed doctrinal statement to clarify what he believed and made it necessary for anyone who wanted to join his church to sign the statement of faith and say they agree? No. He did keep preaching the truth but he being a Pharisee of Pharisees, a great teacher of the law, did not let his knowledge puff up. But he let his love for the church bring everyone closer together. He addresses the issue again of eating these "unclean" foods in a later letter to Romans. “Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only. The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God. For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself; for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. For it is written, "AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD." So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this-not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way. I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but to him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. For if because of food your brother is hurt, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died. Therefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil; for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another. Do not tear down the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are clean, but they are evil for the man who eats and gives offense. It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother stumbles. The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.” “Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification. For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, "THE REPROACHES OF THOSE WHO REPROACHED YOU FELL ON ME." For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God. For I say that Christ has become a servant to the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God to confirm the promises given to the fathers, and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, "THEREFORE I WILL GIVE PRAISE TO YOU AMONG THE GENTILES, AND I WILL SING TO YOUR NAME." Again he says, "REJOICE, O GENTILES, WITH HIS PEOPLE." And again, "PRAISE THE LORD ALL YOU GENTILES, AND LET ALL THE PEOPLES PRAISE HIM." Again Isaiah says, "THERE SHALL COME THE ROOT OF JESSE, AND HE WHO ARISES TO RULE OVER THE GENTILES, IN HIM SHALL THE GENTILES HOPE." Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 14:1-15:13 NASB So let us be very careful by what we let divide us. Let us humbly serve our Lord together. And we will stand because He will make us stand. Grace and Peace.
Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
Romans 14:4 NASB

Ephesians 2:20-22
“having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:20-22 NASB I love seeing concepts in the bible that carry from letter to letter. Sometimes it helps to see what Paul is talking about to the Colossians to see how he says it to the Philippians. It helps see the picture with more clarity. This is also true for comparing the gospels. You see the same story but in a slightly different light. It is also very amazing to see two of the big name apostles address the same concepts in their epistles. You see the unity of their beliefs. This is one of those ideas that Peter and Paul both cover. And it is even more amazing that they are talking about this very concept. “And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For this is contained in Scripture: "BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A CHOICE STONE, A PRECIOUS CORNERSTONE, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED." This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, "THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE VERY CORNERSTONE, "and, "A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE"; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed.” 1 Peter 2:4-8 NASB Jesus Christ is our cornerstone. He is the perfect 90° angle that if you set the next stones of the foundation it will be right and true. But Jesus did more than just live a perfect life to be our example. He poured his life into his disciples and sharpened them, formed them and made sure every stone of the foundation was right and true as well. The Church (called out ones) is made and established on this foundation. The apostles and the prophets. We all know who the apostles are (Jesus' disciples) but what prophets is he referring to? Is he talking about the Old Testament prophets? I don't believe so. Paul makes it very clear in Chapter 4 that he is speaking of certain people called in the Church, just as the apostles were called. Some would say apostles and prophets are foundational gifts and they are no longer with us today. When they say that, this is the verse they are referring to. I personally don't agree completely with that but I will address that more in chapter 4. What I will say is that I do agree that our foundation is on Jesus Christ the cornerstone and the Apostles and prophets are our foundation that we are built on. If we stray away from their teachings and example we will never be what Jesus Christ planned us to be. But in all His wisdom, Jesus is sanctifying us and shaping us in his image so we perfectly fit into this temple. So let us not fight against God who is shaping us into the image of his son but willfully submit to Him. “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 NASB This new temple that is made up of the believers is so much greater than the temple that was in Israel. There, God's presence was only in the holy of Holies but in this new temple, God dwells in every living stone. “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Romans 8:11 NASB This new temple is more than anyone could have imagined. Grace and Peace!
Ephesians 2:13-19
“But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity. AND HE CAME AND PREACHED PEACE TO YOU WHO WERE FAR AWAY, AND PEACE TO THOSE WHO WERE NEAR; for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household,” Ephesians 2:13-19 NASB
This is the point that Paul’s entire ministry was about. This is the controversy that fills the New Testament. If you read about the great mystery in the New Testament and wonder what it is talking about, this is that mystery explained. This is what Jesus started his teaching ministry with and what he was teaching the first time the Jews wanted to kill him. (Luke 4:14-30)
For the Jews in their day, they lived their entire lives as God’s special people. Picture the worst racist attitude you can imagine and multiply it by one hundred. These were people that knew that the only true God picked them and only them to be his People. All the other God’s of the people were nothing. They took pride in this. They took it to an unhealthy level. You read the story of Jonah and you see a pretty good picture of the arrogance that some of the people had. Jonah was called to tell the city of Nineveh (Gentiles not part of Israel) and he didn’t want to do it. He ran away but begrudgingly he finally did and the whole town Repented. And Jonah was furious.
“But it greatly displeased Jonah and he became angry. He prayed to the LORD and said, “Please LORD, was not this what I said while I was still in my own country? Therefore in order to forestall this I fled to Tarshish, for I knew that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, and one who relents concerning calamity. Therefore now, O LORD, please take my life from me, for death is better to me than life."” Jonah 4:1-3 NASB
Like Jonah, there were many in Israel that did not understand what God was doing. Yes, they were a set apart people from the rest of the world, but they did not see God’s plan was bigger than them and his plan was for the entire world. Jesus Christ is our Peace. How? He tore down the middle wall of separation. In the temple there was a a large courtyard called the Court of the Gentiles. If you were not of Israel this was as close as you could get to the temple of YHWH. They had signs with warnings in Greek and Latin engraved on them reading,
NO FOREIGNER IS TO GO BEYOND THE BALUSTRADE AND THE PLAZA OF THE TEMPLE ZONE WHOEVER IS CAUGHT DOING SO WILL HAVE HIMSELF TO BLAME FOR HIS DEATH WHICH WILL FOLLOW
This was surrounded by the sacred enclosure. But being of Israel was not all that you needed to enter the temple. You needed to be ceremonially clean according to the law. Then if you were a woman you could only go as far as the second courtyard in front of the temple, the court of women. Then if you were a man but not a priest you could only go to the third court, the court of Israel. This was an area that surrounded the temple proper but still not inside the true temple. If you were a priest of the tribe of Levi you could go to the next section, the court of priests. There was one section even deeper in the temple. The Holy of Holies. Only one man, the High priest could enter this area and only one day a year, on the day if atonement.
And all of this was just a replica of what was in Heaven. For when God revealed to Moses the true temple in Heaven he gave home instructions to build on earth one in its likeness.
“See that you make them after the pattern for them, which was shown to you on the mountain.” Exodus 25:40 NASB
I go into all of this to show you that the Jews were an exclusive club. They knew the only true God and were past down instructions from Heaven to build a temple in the likeness of YHWH’s temple so they could make sacrifices to be right with YHWH the only true God. But then comes the mystery. They were looking forward for the son of God, the King of Israel, the son of David, the great prophet and leader like Moses to come. But what they got was much more than that. They also got the Lamb of God who was at the same time the High priest. Who offered a sacrifice for the people of Israel and was the sacrifice of the people. And here is where they were short sighted. When Jesus died the veil was torn in two from the top to the bottom (Mark 15:38) the Middle wall of separation which meant to keep the Gentiles out was torn in the temple in Jerusalem but more importantly it was torn down in Heaven. Much more than just the wall keeping the Jews out but it changed who we are. This is the mystery. We no longer have to be purified by the works of the law, but we are purified by faith in the blood of the lamb! And do not think that you will be kept at a distance by your sex either! For we can all move past the Court of women!
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28 NASB
But it gets better. We are a royal priesthood! We can even enter the temple proper
“But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD; you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY.” 1 Peter 2:9-10 NASB
So Jesus Christ is our peace. Peace is not the absence of conflict but it is the presence of God. The separation is over. Through Jesus Christ we are brought close to God. This is the Gospel. This is the good news. Being with God is eternal life!
“After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”” Genesis 15:1 NKJV
“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3 NASB
There are no super Christians. There are no special anointings . We are all equals. Christ Jesus destroyed the temple and in three days he rebuilt it. There are no levels anymore. It is all even. King Jesus, the prince of peace. The bringer of justice!
Grace and peace!!!!!
