you’re lucky you were even able to snag the invitation out of Schlatt’s hands before he tossed it into the recycling along with the other mail, a habit you’d given up on correcting

quickly finding the date and RSVPing, you made sure to mark the event in every calendar in the house, leaving notes and sending reminder texts to Schlatt to keep him updated

getting Schlatt to agree on an outfit was like trying to put a coat on a toddler who did NOT want to wear a coat

eventually, you were able to wrangle him into a suit, deciding to compromise and let him keep the headband on

with your outfit, hair and makeup set, the two of you set off to the wedding

the ceremony was beautiful, of course, but the reception was what everyone was really looking forward to

getting to see so many people you had only ever met through Schlatt’s screen in person was beyond exciting once you got past the nerves

Schlatt was more than happy to walk around and show you off to the other friends and family of the happy couple

Ted was a familiar face and you couldn’t help but hang around him while your boyfriend went into content creator mode for the few guests filming

the two of you thought you were slick, sneaking photos of Schlatt while he wasn’t looking and posting them online with dumb captions

of course, the more friendly members of the party, like Wilbur and Phil, made their way over to the table to copy you and Ted

Schlatt let you have his fun before joining for more pictures, at one point, producing a small flip knife from his inner coat pocket

“You really let him bring that?” Ted asked you while Phil took a picture of Wilbur smiling next to Schlatt, knife in hand

sighing at the memory you answer him, “You should be grateful I caught the gun before he could stowe it in the car.” you refer to the fake weapon your boyfriend had taken to carrying around with him

pictures taken and music blasting, most of the party had moved to the center of the floor, where you danced

Schlatt sat with your fancy shoes, having commandeered them so he wouldn’t have to give you calf massages tomorrow because you partied to hard and got a cramp

Sneeg joined him, pulling up a chair and slumping down in it, clearly happy but still tired from the day’s events

“How’s it feel to be a married man?” Schlatt clapped a hand on his friend’s shoulder

Sneeg followed Schlatt’s eyes to where you were dancing around with the new bride, laughing and twirling across the floor, “Ehh, you’ll find out soon enough.”

Schlatt’s hand slides off his shoulder, eyebrows pinched together, “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“C’mon man, I know you gotta have the ring picked out and everything by now. Dontcha?” Sneeg bumped his shoulder against the tall man

“Yeah.” Schlatt thought back to the tiny box stuffed into one of his drawers at home, “Maybe I do.”

nobody really knew how close you and Schlatt were until they saw the two of you interacting on twitter

Schlatt always responds to the posts you make simply to piss him off, saying something playful along the lines of “Someone tell this dumb broad that New York is superior”

but then you fire back with “But I’m your dumb broad” tacking on a few heart emojis just to spite him

it would be an understatement to say his fan base is confused, who’s this girl and why is Schlatt kinda... flirting? if it can even be called that?

somehow his friends get tagged as fans try to learn more about you, so you become acquainted with Charlie and Ted, though they don’t think much of you and Schlatt’s interactions for a while

a couple days later and Charlie’s in a call with Schlatt, playing something random, when you decide to join

within seconds, you and Schlatt are totally wrapped up in each other’s company

and now Charlie’s the third wheel and while he would normally hate it, he’s just watching you make Schlatt happier and happier

Jambo jumps up on the desk and you start cooing at the tabby cat

“Jammy!! You got so big since I last saw you.”

“That’s because he’s been eating everything in the house, including my fucking fridge magnets.”

“You're a troublemaker just like your dad, huh Jammy?”

Charlie’s marveling at the fact that you’ve got Schlatt smiling and you didn’t even have to make a joke

he’s just that damn happy around you

“Wait, Y/n, you’ve been to Schlatt’s house before?”

Charlie hadn’t even realized what your words meant, but now he’s interested in this secret visit

suddenly, Schlatt’s blushing like a teen and you’re barely stammering out an excuse, saying something along the lines of helping him move in once

Charlie’s lucky he’s not on camera because he’s sporting a wicked smile as he grabs his phone and texts Ted to join stream asap

Ted logs on and it really just goes downhill from there

he’s mentioning the podcast and how “You should totally come to the meetup! I mean, it’s not like you haven’t shared a room with Schlatt before, right? So hotels won’t be an issue!”

despite Schlatt’s protests, you’re genuinely considering it, Ted’s even offering to pay for your flight, trying to sweeten the deal like the businessman he is

“Would you mind, J? Do you really not want me to come?”

“You’re killing me over here, sweetheart! What do you want me to say?”

everyone in the call is silent at the slip of a pet name, but Ted and Charlie are laughing it off goodnaturedly and planning your trip before Schlatt can even deny how much he really likes you
