In the 1st house, it’s aligned with the self. This includes identity, self awareness, the physical body, personality, appearance, views on life, early environment, and beginnings. It’s how we initiate, how we are impulsive. Planets in this house will have a great influence on your personality and how others see you.
In the 2nd house, it refers to your own money and possessions. It’s what you value, your hidden talents, sense of self worth, self esteem, the second house also signifies how you gain and spend your own money, your attitude towards wealth, and material possessions as well say your potential for accumulating them.
In the 3rd house, it signifies communication and the immediate environment. Including: siblings, neighbors, short distance travel, and transportation. The 3rd house also signifies intellect, the lower mind, thinking patterns, and early education. In the 4th house, it talks about the home life. It’s the family, the land, personal foundations, emotional security, and your roots. Many astrologers are divided on whether or not the 4th house belongs to the mother or father. In my opinion it’s both. On a deeper level, the 4th house can signify the consciousness or center of our existence. If you believe in reincarnation, the 4th house can give clues to your karmic lessons for this lifetime. Even if you don’t believe in karmic lessons, what you find in your fourth house can still move you.
In the 5th house, it signifies children, creativity, and the pursuit of pleasure. That includes: personal interests, romance, affairs, sports, hobbies, speculation, risk taking, teaching, drama, creative self expression, and gambling. The 5th house is all about being yourself and enjoying it.
In the 6th house, it represents the daily work, routine, service, health, sickness, and employees. This includes volunteer labor, service work, caretaking, and daily tasks. It can show you the quality of your work and job.
In the 7th house, this signifies partnership of all kinds. Marriage, long term relationships, business partnerships, and it could also signify divorce, separation, quarrels, open enemies, and lawsuits. This could also include how you relate to the ones closest to you.
In the 8th house, this house deals with joint finances, sexuality, and even death. This is one of the most misunderstood houses because of its dark themes. Such as death, sex, regeneration, inheritances, wills and legacies, bankruptcy, losses, sacrifices, alimony, and clairvoyance. On the positive note, this is the house of transformation and healing. The healing may require some sort of metaphorical death or injury first, but you do end up coming out of it stronger than before.
In the 9th house, it refers to philosophies, religion, law, higher knowledge, ethics, morals, long distance travel, other countries, spiritual urges, vistions, and higher mind. This includes the experiences we encounter when searching for these higher knowings.
In the 10th house, it represents our status, honor, community power, prestige, and career. The 10th house wants success to gain honor and social status. This includes social foundations in recognition, social responsibilities, sense of duty, authoritative figures, and politicians. Astrologers are divided on where or not the 10th house belongs to the mother or father, in my opinion it belongs to both. This house will influence your career and your public reputation.
In the 11th house, it represents community, large groups, and friends. It could also refer to memberships, hopes, goals, ambitions, wishes, social groups, associations, and humanitarian interests. It also refers to self realization, liberty, legislation, and regulation.
In the 12th house, it refers to the subconscious, hidden self that exists in our reality. This includes the unconscious mind, subconscious memory, patterns from the past, karmic debts, deception, escapism, spiritual realization, limitations, frustration, and our self undoing. On the physical level the twelfth house has to do with that takes us away from our everyday lives. Secret relationships, hidden enemies, and soulmates are also ties to this house as well. This is also a very self sacrificing house, since it also refers to the collective unconscious of everyone.
