It takes place after Shane gets knocked out by Marlow, but i guess it was harder that Shane got into a coma? But in this universe he never got to reconcile with Ilya during All-Stars so he saw a whole other life living happily with Ilya with 3 kids, a dog, and cat. And when he woke up and found out it wasn't real... well damn... he became heavily depressed. And not his parents or bestfriends could do anything to bring Shane out of it.

At the same time Ilya went crazy from worry because they never did reconciled, what right did he have to be by the love of his life side?

So one day he was puzzled when of all people Hayden Pike calls him.

yes, shane isn’t perfect but her treatment of and outright hatred for her own character is completely unjustified. again, the story doesn’t work without shane. we all wouldn’t be here without shane. he’s such a beloved character, and i simply cannot fathom creating such a complex, nuanced character seemingly by accident, only to completely misunderstand him and complain about his actions that you wrote.

He doesn't hold a grudge (he had every right to block Buck's number after that disastrous morning, he sat next to Gerrard at the funeral - whether assigned or not, if he'd spoken up, I'm sure they'd have placed him elsewhere)
