âOther things? Hold up, what other things?â he chuckles. âActually, no, I donât wanna hear it. Save it for your jokes or something,â he says and playfully bumps his shoulder into Jacksonâs. âI just got hard time readjusting. Itâs always like that, sometimes it makes me think Iâm not made for so much traveling,â he shrugs. Karlâs been feeling like nothingâs been working out for him lately, like thereâs something seriously off all the time but he canât figure out what. Everyday he hopes for the feeling to go away but it doesnât and itâs hard to settle back into his life when thereâs a voice in the back of his head telling him that somethingâs up. And he never gets to figure out what this something is. âWhat, you offering?â Karl smiles back at the other.Â
Jackson playfully opened his mouth wide, as if he were about to fire off the longest list of all time, but instead smiled when Karl bumped against him. âIâd kill to travel, but I canât imagine what itâs like to do it all the time. Youâre here one day, another place the next. Living out of hotel rooms and suitcases. Youâre really strong, Karl. Like, seriously. Not sure how anyone could do that and keep their sanity â at least from what Iâm seeinâ.â Jackson looked at the man. He could see the worry in his eyes, the confusion and tension that he tried to hard to hide in his face and demeanor. âItâs okay to admit it feels uncomfortable to land in one place, even when that place is somewhere you call home. I ainât been home in 10 years, but I think youâve been away from it even longer than that considering home is kind of everywhere for you.â Jackson raised an eyebrow at Karl and seductively wiggled his shoulders. âOh shit, is this really happening right now?â he yelled, pumping a fist into the air. âMe and Kovey? Damn, Iâm a lucky dude.â
