EASA is an expirience
Teodor
Everything is still a blur from last nights Sangria party, but a brave bunch of Easians is boarding a bus to Istria. The destination is Pićan, a town which is home the regional ROCKWOOL stone wool factory. The road choice was a bit of a problem – the bus driver chose to drive along the coast (beautiful views of Opatija and other small towns), however the winding road did not sit well with the 40ish hungover architecture students. Most of us slept through it though, and soon we arrived to the factory in the middle of nowhere. Entering the site all of us were given visitor passes and red caps, and true salvation came as we were ushered into an air conditioned lecture room for a few presentations. Nensi and Anđelka, two ROCKWOOL PR ladies, gave presentations about the company, ROCKWOOL products and the FIRE SAFE EUROPE association. Following the presentations and a short toilet break our tour started – first at the outdoor material storage area where we were shown the ‘Does it burn test’. Anđelka, equipped with small speakers and a mic, talked us throught the test while Nensi put a water bottle, a stress ball, and a sandwich in a small stone wool house. Good looking firemen set the house on fire and we watched it burn for 3 minutes. After the fire was extinguished, the three items were taken out unharmed. A tour of the production line followed – from cutting, checking, sorting and packing to the big storage parking lot. The visit ended with a nice group photo. For lunch we were taken to a restaurant in Plomin, a tiny stone town on top of a hill with the most amazing view of the valley below. The amazing three course meal ended with a fun ROCKWOOL quiz and a quick run around the town. The newly refreshed students appreciated the views on the way back much more now than in the morning and got back home just in time to continue working in their workshops for a few more hours. Thanks to everyone at ROCKWOOL for the fun tour and the great meal!

You can feel the philanthropic spirit of EASA - we’re going to leave all of the construction that is just finishing to the citizens of Rijeka and we didn’t even have the time to enjoy it ourselves.
though the whole event is coming to the end we’re bringing you some impressions from the first day.
EASA Forum Session 3
Networks – Architecture and Architectural education – Information infrastructure
Talk about how easa communicates within itself and within Europe.
We as individuals.
The huge amount of information and how we deal with it?
The importance of the collective knowledge?
Weak spots of the EASA inner communication?
Are we closed?
Where is the interaction line between what we create and what we share?
What kinds of information do we share?
What separates easa from a holiday?
What is the role of the NC?
Transition of information?
Verbal, non-verbal, written communication?
EASA Guide?
EASA Archive?
EASA Magazine?
EASA local communities contribution?

EASA FM van is definitely not underused since they have found perfect night time use for it. We wonder if Malta booked all of the night time guest sets …
Vogue runway was intense, so i guess we are doing it again next year! Congratulations Anni, you really are a star.
EASA Forum Session 2
Networks – Architecture and Architectural education – Information infrastructure
The second EASA Forum session was more lively and because the introduction was already done in the first one it went straight to discussions. The theme Architecture and Architectural education aroused interesting discussion that the organizers of EASA Forum guided with specific questions. Experiences from schools and life in general in different parts of Europe was shared and through the dialogue questions aroused. What is the role of EASA in the framework of institutionalized teaching of architecture? How can we share the knowledge we gain in EASA to others? To whom the knowledge should be shared? What are the problems of existing educational model in Europe?
The discussion revealed many different positions and will be continued.
