❛ 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐝                                                       𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐞.  ❜            

⌜ 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 ¦ 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵 ⌟

♡ ― the goddess always enjoyed the warming embrace of the sun on a breezy afternoon. most of the family was out and about; ares out with his father, eileithyia busy with friends and young hebe asleep in her cot. besides the resting baby and busied staff, the home was occupied by hera and her step-son. a tea-cup rested on its’ china plate, held elegantly by her hand as she watched the world move around her. a queen still growing into her crown, hera only dreamed of such regality fitting her like a second skin - something she could slip into as if was a silk ball gown. it was her parents’ dreams for their youngest child, and it was hera’s job to accomplish it. 

her gaze flickered away from the grand window, noticing apollo strutting in with the sense of wanting something to snack upon for the afternoon. hera quietly pursed her lips, slowly rolling her shoulders back and watching the teenager hunt through the large pantry without any commentary, lazily whistling some melody she hardly recognise. the queen took another delicate sip of her lukewarm tea before placing it down on the table nearby. she patiently waited until apollo closed the pantry door, moving towards the marble island to prop herself again.  ❛ apollo. ❜

hera watched as apollo paused and studied her with disinterest; she wasn’t sure what compelled her, whether it was her own doing or something beyond her being, but curiosity lured the words out of hera’s mouth. for once, there wasn’t a hiss nor there was judgement from the young mother, just a dose of an afternoon’s intrigue.  ❛ have you got anything planned for the future? an idea of what you want when you come of age, perhaps? ❜  

eyebrows silently furrowed together as hera waited for his response, watching the teenager ponder on it from afar. hera waited for the cogs in her step-son’s mind to click and hoped for some kind of answer. perhaps not all of her husband’s children - at least, the ones that didn’t intertwine with her blood - would be failures? a sly grin grew, revealing white teeth and dimples that everyone but her adored. hera’s features faltered as she received her answer.  ❛ whatever it is, i hope it involves breaking more chandeliers. ❜

hera’s red lips pursed, a deep sigh following apollo’s pleased exit. the queen held her composure, stopping herself from rolling her eyes as she picked up her cup, taking a long draw. how surprising.

⌜ 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐲 ¦ 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 ⌟

♡ ― ❛ take than out for tea, have samael for dinner and steal daeva’s food? he’d probably wouldn’t mind. hopefully. ❜

gives nose/forehead kisses: rhys most likely gives a lot of forehead kisses while lottie gives more nose kisses!

gets jealous the most: lottie, and sometimes rhys, but he’s like that john mulanely quote about everything.

picks the other up from the bar when they’re too drunk to drive: rhys, since he’s not a big drinker.

takes care of on sick days: lottie, which is sweet ( and slightly ironic ) since rhys is trained as a doctor. he’d be stubborn and tell her he’s fine to work longer.

drags the other person out into the water on beach day: lottie does, but sometimes rhys gives her a piggy-back there. 

gives unprompted massages: both, perhaps?

drives/rides shotgun: rhys, he’d drive lottie anywhere she’d want to go, truthfully.

brings the other lunch at work: lottie probably would’ve, stopping by to bring some of tiana’s famous beignets along with her to share.

has the better parental relationship: lottie, most likely. rhys’s family is a mess and would rather keep lottie away from them. 

tries to start role-playing in bed: i,,, actually don’t know-

embarrassingly drunk dancer: rhys, every time. oz isn’t known for their dances, unfortunately.

still cries watching titanic: lottie, with rhys being there with a box of tissues and wiping a tear away from his own eyes.

firmly believes in couples costumes: lottie, every year! it takes rhys a bit of persuasion and puppy eyes to get him to consider it.

breaks the expensive gift rule during christmas: they both do, lottie probably breaks it more than he does.

makes the other eat breakfast: rhys does! he’s not any kind of talented chef, but he does know how to make scrambled eggs and a decent coffee. 

remembers anniversaries: they both do!

♡ ― ❛ clowns are weird and the last thing i’d imagine to bring joy. they’re so cheerful all the time i don’t understand. i’ve also become paranoid around snowmen, they weigh so much more than you think. ❜

♡ ― ❛ surprise, i actually know how to cook. if i could, i’d spend more time in the kitchen. but more so i just find myself eating take-out or at some odd diner. ❜

♡ ― ❛ they weren’t so much relationships but one nights and summer flings. my last relationship? well, that might’ve been me being optimistic for once. ❜ he flexes his fingers, the faintest of metal squeaking echoes. ❛ i certainly haven’t forgotten about her. ❜

♡ ― augustus - despite his not, so classy behaviour sometimes - actually has quite a wardrobe! it’s very much similar to the outfits from knives out and defending jacob; expensive sweaters, nice pants. his shoes will always have some sort of scuff around them and there are vague remnants of past military uniform in his clothing as well. 

drycleaning is a bitch, though.
