Allotment gardening diary : badgers demolished sweetcorn in cage, allotment update, plants going to seed, greenhouse window fell off.

Liquid plant foods are an important part of my method of growing crops and here's what I typically get up to in May, when the previous year's stuff needs to be decanted into containers and the barrels prepared to take this year's "weeds".

This is a long video that I recorded as part of the clean up operation, where I was clearing the metal and other rubbish out of the future fruit bed. Some people want to see these details so here it is.

In this video we can take a look at the second allotment,which I have taken on as a co-worker so that I share in the costs, the work and the harvests.

The resident robin keeps  following me around the allotment, always on the look out for any worms and insects that I uncover. He likes to remind me he's there, waiting to come and eat the insects. He got a really good feed after I removed the carpet covering parts of my allotment.
