Narcissists and their flying monkeys twist information to smear the victim, control public opinion, and gain sympathy. They do this by using manipulation tactics like lying, exaggeration, and triangulation. [1]

Lying and Distortion: They change facts to make themselves look like the good person and the victim look bad.

Triangulation: They pull other people into the conflict to build a team against the victim.

Preemptive Smearing: They spread rumors before the victim can share their side of the story.

Playing the Victim: They twist their own bad actions to make it look like they are the ones under attack.

Why They Do It

To Protect Their Ego: They cannot handle being wrong or looking bad, so they blame others.

To Isolate the Victim: They want to turn friends, family, or coworkers away from the victim so the victim has no support.

To Keep Control: They use outside opinions to confuse the victim and make them doubt their own memory.

This has been a primary tactic used by the predatory ring of the thomas fandom. Their shared insults and false accusations against Nirmal are the smear campaign.

Why Narcissists Make This Announcement

Restoring Supply: They treat past or ongoing targets (such as Nirmal) as reliable sources of emotional energy or validation to use when other options fade.

Controlling the Story: Proclaiming a return lets them act as the victor who-manages the relationship terms, framing the dynamic entirely around their power.

Proving Irresistibility: Getting a reaction or compliance—even minor acknowledgment—proves to them that they still hold influence over the person.

Why Flying Monkeys Act Like Narcissists

Shared Fantasy: They buy into the narcissist’s false narrative and help defend a distorted reality.

Low Empathy: They often ignore or minimize the real pain the target goes through.

Mimicking Behavior: Some act as "mini-narcissists" who use the main abuser as cover for their own selfish actions.

Why They Participate

Deception: They are tricked by the narcissist's charm and believe the ab2is the real victim.

Fear and Survival: They obey out of terror so they do not become the next target of abuse.

People-Pleasing: They want validation, safety, or a higher rank in a social or family group.

This is also an effective way to draw more people into the drama, and thus recruiting them as flying monkeys or supporters.

Enabler Blindness: Flying monkeys often blindly believe the narcissist without questioning the facts or hearing out the target.

For Nirmal and those who are unfairly victimised like her:

(although the silence is an illusion, as the flying monkeys will still try to stalk you for fodder to use against you despite the illusion of cutting you off. so be aware of that)

Common Reactions to Criticism

Rage and Defensiveness: They view even mild feedback as a severe personal attack and respond with intense anger, sarcasm, or verbal abuse.

Blame-Shifting: They flip the conversation to focus on your flaws instead of addressing the issue.

Denial and Distortion: They rewrite history, lie, or gaslight to maintain a faultless version of reality.

Devaluation: They try to invalidate the person giving the critique to protect their own fragile status.

This was exhibited when several members of the predatory ring claimed to have viewed content exposing their behaviour, and dismissed it. In addition, they reacted with disdain toward it. They also tired to make Nirmal look bad instead, because it secretly brought them shame. It put a spotlight on their lack of accountability, showinf their flaws, and they did not like it. There have also been a few reblogs of ours that have illicited the same reactions - for the very same reasons.

Narcissists express fetishes and sexual desires primarily through control, power, and self-gratification rather than emotional connection. Their sexual behaviors and fantasies often revolve around dominance, strict rule-breaking, and treating partners as objects or trophies rather than equal human beings.

Power and Control: Total dominance over a partner's body, reactions, and the structure of the sexual encounter.

Objectification: Viewing partners not as people with feelings, but as "trophies," extensions of their own ego, or tools for auto-erotic gratification.

Why Narcissists Act with Bigotry

Need for Superiority: Narcissists believe they are special and better than everyone else, which makes putting down other groups a natural way to prop up their own ego.

This is why the predatory ring pretends be be nirmal with their liquidnirm, nirmjak, and their various fake profiles of her on social media. If they think she's retaliating, then they use that against her. This is also why they reblog things - not because they genuinely agree with what's being said - but because they want to use whatever they think she is saying, or whatever is in defense of her - against her. This is aprt of their need to control how she is viewed by the fandom - again, this is all a ruse to cover up their own actions, especially as many of them are both predators and are connected to other predators. She is their 'front' or 'shield' so they can deflect all the shame, hurt, and punishment they would get if they were found out.

Why They Block Praise

Jealousy: They feel resentful of anyone else getting positive attention or feeling happy with their own success.

Control: Withholding or deflecting recognition keeps the victim dependent on the narcissist for validation.

Insecurity: Narcissists need all the attention focused on themselves to prop up their own fragile self-esteem.

This is is a recognised pattern - grosspecans/eepy did this, so did/does danceinator/dirtypercy6/traumaizedwi, and so do the predatory ring. Notice how everyone is allowed to insult and harass Nirmal, but no one is allowed to defend or compliment her? If they do, they are either assumed to be her, or are shot down themselves? This is why that is done. It's part of the manipulation recruitment tactic to turn people against her for validation.

In july of 2025, crinklyspinkly and several others pretended to make peace with Nirmal. Everything went quiet, until they had a user named slayveosah stalk and harass her behind her back. This gave them more ammunition for validation. When things such as gore were posted on tumblr, Nirmal was the falsely blamed - again, to drum up drama for validation.

Why They Avoid Blame

Fragile Ego: Deep down, they feel weak and cannot handle the heavy shame of being wrong.

Power Loss: They think that saying sorry makes them look weak and gives power to the other person.

Why They Say This

Shifting blame: They act like they are the hurt person to make you feel bad for them.

Avoiding accountability: They want to stop talking about their bad actions without saying sorry or changing.

Shutting down the talk: They use fake exhaustion to make you stop asking fair questions.

Looking innocent: They want other people to think they are peaceful and that you are the troublemaker.

Yes, narcissistic individuals use the same predictable formula for abuse in fandoms as they do in personal relationships: idealize, devalue, discard, and useDARVO (Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender). They weaponize group dynamics to isolate and punish targets.

The Stages of Fandom Narcissistic Abuse

Idealization: The abuser showers a targeted fan, creator, or friend with excessive praise, making them feel uniquely chosen or central to the community. (Nirmal noted that she didn't recieve this, but initially felt welcome, and was ok with that. She didn't want anything more than to be friendly with like minds. She was made to feel special at first by a few people.)

Devaluation: The abuser shifts to subtle criticism, public humiliation, or weaponized "purity tests", twisting boundaries to make the victim look unstable or toxic. (She noted too that the abuse started randomly in both cases.)

Smear Campaigns & Triangulation: The narcissist recruits community members as "flying monkeys", turning public forums, Discord servers, or social media threads against the victim. (several of the most viscious flying monkeys include baronvonbunny and sillyspaidesuit, cinabowlii, elester01, as well as many others others who have taken to stalking her for information to use against her.)

Common Shared Tactics

Projection: Accusing the target of the exact toxic behaviors the narcissists are actively doing.

Flying Monkeys: Recruiting mutual friends, family members, or coworkers to spread lies and gather information.

Rewriting History: Changing timelines and twisting innocent interactions into malicious events to fit a shared false narrative.

Playing the Victim: Feigning injury or fear to justify a relentless, vindictive attack on the target's reputation.

Why They Mirror Each Other

Validation: Narcissists crave external proof that their distorted view of reality is "right". Finding another person who blames the same target provides mutual ego reinforcement.

Shared Envy or Injury: If both feel slighted or threatened by the same person's boundaries or truth-telling, teaming up feels like efficient self-defense for their fragile egos.

Pack Mentality: Toxic groups naturally unify against an outsider who refuses to submit to their rules or manipulation.
