I wish I could tell how much of my burnout was from work and how much is just not knowing how to be a person

more than anything i want a world where a trans girl realizing she is a trans girl faces zero fear from that realization and subsequent coming out. Where she can say "Oh sweet, I can just be a girl? Sign me up!", no worrying if shes girl enough, no worrying if society will accept her, no worrying if she'll be an attractive girl as she transitions, no worrying at all in any way shape or form.

It's funny; I've been actively transitioning for 6 months now, and on E for two of those, yet those last few sentences ring so true for me; I'm still waiting for the magic moment when I suddenly feel I have the right to use the word trans, and everyday I worry my country is becoming a place where transitioning is a worse and worse idea. But still I carry on, hoping it gets better soon.

also like the whole "do you ever leave your house" insult thrown at trans women, as if there isn't a systematic bigotry that'd make trans women to leave the house. like. you gotta remember what all these lines mean in context of society.

Direct byproduct of being neurodivergent and growing up isolated from your peergroup is having no idea when it's appropriate to define someone as your friend

Is this person I met yesterday my friend? What about this person I've been talking to every day for three months? What about this person I've known since middle school? Is friend a title I have to earn? What are the limits of friendship? Is it a static state, make-or-break, or is it some endless dance-dance-revolution style cavalcade of prompts and challenges and social cues I have to hit perfectly to keep it up? Does it bend? Does it break? I don't fucking know man I just work here.

i still remember when the dude doing my autism assessment asked me how many friends I had, and I was like "okay but how are we defining friendship?" and he just like, stared at me for a second and then wrote down some notes

Im glad they made up romance for stories and music but can you imagine how scary it would be to deal with all that for real

the issue with growing up in the 2000s and 2010s was like there was this really big push toward "accepting your weirdness" overall but they meant like idk wearing mismatched socks or something not being tangibly beyond the norm in any way shape or form
