“저는 90년생이에요. 90년생은 성비불균형이 가장 심한 세대래요. 태아가 여아일 경우 낙태를 하는 일이 많았던 거예요. 여자가 백말띠에 태어나면 드세다는 인식이 팽배했기 때문이었죠. 이 사실을 알고서 저희가 운 좋게 살아남았다는 생각이 들었어요. 학교에 다니면서도 들었죠. 얘네는 백말띠여서 드세다는 말을요. 그런데 실제로 보면 90년생 여자들은 당당하게 자기표현 할 줄 아는 친구들이 많은 것 같아요. 성취욕이 강한 친구들도 많고요. 물론 말띠라서 그런 건 아닐 거예요. 저만의 착각일지도 모르죠. 그래도 90년생 여자가 성공하는 모습을 보면 응원해주고 싶어요. 어려움을 이겨낸 사람이잖아요.”

“I was born in 1990. They say 1990 is the year with the most extreme gender imbalance. Knowing that fact, I came to think we were lucky to have survived. I heard it even while I was in school, that we were rough because we were White Horses. But actually, I think women born in 1990 know how to confidently express themselves. And they also have a strong desire for success. Of course, just being a White Horse wouldn’t make you like that.
