the gameplay was fun (as fun as a modern re can be lol i still prefer the more puzzle-y style of the older games) but the story was meh. i like the grace stuff but it shouldve been either her alone or her with jill or claire. also a lot of parts of the game feel very weird like why create a wesker clone to fight... leon? a guy who never met wesker? i also feel like capcom (and the fans) forget that the people who have a deeper connection to raccoon city itself are jill and chris. since they actually lived there. this is making me sound like a leon hater and im not, i like leon a lot but this particular game feels like it would've been a better fit for jill. like nemesis showing up too... it doesnt sit right with me. and dont get me started on leon's writing in this game. the whole return to raccoon city felt like a nostalgia cashgrab rather than something they wanted to examine critically with leon's character. and dont get me started on the lack of claire being mentioned either, like it feels like capcom wants us to forget that claire was even in re2 at all so it can just be leon's thing. i wasnt expecting her to be in re9 atp but not even a mention by sherry hurts
