Here’s a comic I did at the beginning of the semester. The day we got this assignment, we were asked to take a fortune cookie out of a paper bag. The fortune inside that cookie would be our prompt. Mine read “Your emotional currents are flowing powerfully now.” I carried it around with me in my pocket, and read it whenever I remembered it was there. The fortune made me feel mighty; this comic is rooted in that feeling.

I look around at us, you know what I see? Losers. I mean, like, folks who have lost stuff. And we have, man, we have! All of us! Our homes, our families, normal lives. And usually life takes more than it gives, but not today. Today it’s given us somethin’. It has given us a chance. To give a shit. For once, not run away.
