No Go

Grief is a funny thing sometimes, I lost my beloved cat about 5 years ago now. But she’s always with me, especially in my thoughts. I’ve been in a rough situation at home lately so my lovely housemates let me stay on their side of the house last night, they have five very wonderful and crazy cats. I wake up to cake pop (their calico) sitting in my antique suitcase I’ve had since I was 14. The same way Gatsby did. My suitcase was her favorite, especially whenever I’d leave or come back from a trip, she hated being away from me. I used to think she just liked the shape of it cause it was so small, it was a miracle I ever fit anything in there especially because I’m such an overpacker, but she was leaving her smell, her fur for me to never forget to come back home to her. I miss her so much. Me and my now ex boyfriend always talked about getting a cat together, I’m so glad we didn’t, knowing what I know now about him, it would’ve crushed me to come to love another animal to have them ripped away from me. I still haven’t had another cat since her. I’m not sure if I ever will, but birds live a long time, some for over 100 years! I think a little sun conure would be a lovely lifelong friend to me. :’)
