1) Stiles being mad at him for not saving his dad in season 1 put that āI need to help or die tryingā mentality in his head (and wtf was that Stiles)
2) Derek ādyingā and Scott being actually suicidal showed him āIām okay with dying, if anything I want to dieā and then Derek coming back probably added a surreal āIs death even real atp?ā feeling
3) Him not dying from the same (or similar) wound that killed Allison AND Aiden (a fucking werewolf that should have lived like he did) made him question if there was anything that would even kill him and told him he could take wounds that others canāt and therefore he has to take those hits instead of his friends. Because he probably wonāt even die from it and that is proven to him over and over and over and over and why should he care about dying when nothing has proven it can kill him. When so many of his friends of died from things he couldnāt save them from. When being dead would probably be much easier than dealing with whatever the fuck could finally kill him? Itās probably his karma anyway.
and if you put that all together you get the making of Scottās passively suicidal āitās okayā mentality. Iām sure there are a lot of things that contribute to it but to me those are the main things. Everything that happens after that ā being practically dead, literally dying, āoh youāll healā, āyouāre stronger than thatā, batshit plans that should kill him but donāt ā just add on to what heās already thinking.
