Just like the (objectively false) TERF dogwhistle of "all porn objectifies women!" and "porn is ontologically evil!" you can blame Radfems for the same "all Yaoi fetishises gay men!" misinformation. It's actually embarrassing how many people swallow this obvious lie and spew it back out the second they see a M/M pairing anywhere. Same with the "Yaoi is by straight women for straight women" crap, as if there isn't a HUGE, known queer fanbase for M/M stories (including gay men. The term "fudanshi" exists, guys)
I need people to really stop and think about how outrageously homophobic the idea of "queer media about gay relationships between gay men is a FETISH" really is. I need you all to really unpack the reason behind why you're so willing to blindly believe and repeat queerphobic talking points like "You're a gross FETISHISER if you like this gay couple!" like maybe you all need to confront how easy it is for TERFs and other conservative reactionaries to manipulate you and your opinions.
And before anyone starts whining about "b-but Yaoi is always about rape and SA and toxic and abuse and and and...!" shut up. Just shut up, oh my god. Not only is that laughably untrue (there's literally SO MUCH Yaoi with absolutely none of these themes) please realise that you are spouting the same exact TERF arguments, like "all porn is about cishet mean beating and abusing women!"
