Watching all the Twilight movies as an adult is so rough cuz I suddenly feel so protective of Bella. As an edgy middle-schooler I found her annoying but now I'm like oh no that's just a sad child who never learned how to connect with people her own age and obsesses over dangerous men because their attention makes her feel seen and desirable. And then her depression worsens in New Moon and she basically disassociates for like 4 months straight and starts becoming increasingly suicidal and you're like hey can we get her some therapy please? Maybe a single friend who isn't jealous of her or trying to make a move on her? Charlie's trying his best but it's 2009 and (like a lot of teenagers in her situation) she doesn't actually tell him anything. She just keeps getting worse until she's reunited with her boyfriend who caused her depression spiral in the first place!!
