Say more about pyramid game! I'm intrigued and not sure I got the right one when I Googled it.
Hiiiii Soo sorry for not answering sooner! So Pyramid Game is a korean webtoon where the main plot surrounds the dynamics between all the girls in one of the classes of a top school, where almost every girl comes from pretty powerful and influential families of South Korea. The story mainly follows the newest addition to that class, who quickly notices that the class is basically ruled by a simple but twisted game: every month they decide the hierarchy of the class, assigning a certain number of people to each rank. The girls in the highest ranks enjoy plenty of privileges, social and academically speaking, but the one person who ends up in the lowest rank is bullied relentlessly by everybody else. This is the basic premise without spoilers.
I've seen my fair share of bullying stories, and the one that, imo, elevates it from the others is the depth given to every character featuring in the webtoon and their relationships. The protagonist has a very strong and interesting personality that defines her perspective on life in general, and bullying specifically, and while you may agree or disagree with her, the events and people she meets (in particular her first friend at the school, and possibly her love interest (it's unclear but I personally think its canon, i can explain lol)) during her stay in the school end up changing her in a way that doesn't betray her character per se, but that feels very earned and genuine by the time the story finishes. In fact, almost every other relevant character (which are few) goes through noticeable changes from their initial characterization, which is rare to see when you deal with a somewhat big cast. The girls in the class all feel like real teenagers; more than that, human beings. The main point is, character development isn't restricted to the MC, making you more invested in the story overall.
The fantastic pacing and effective emotional punches without relying on clichés or being too corny, the exploring of bullying (why do people bully, how targets are chosen, how cruel people can be when they believe they're inmune to consecuences vs the inherent capacity and drive to be a good person, bullying as a systemic problem, the social benefits of participating in bullying...), and the overall optimistic outlook in spite of looking at the worst tendencies of humans in the eye have made Pyramid Game one of my favourite stories ever, and I'm sure I didn't do it enough justice. I truly can't recommend it enough :,)
I'll leave you a link if youre still interested, and for anyome curious! I really apologise, I'm not used to receiving asks and I never check my inbox :( Thank you very much for asking me about something I hold so dear to my heart <33
