'whipping girl' by julia serano is gr8 for feminism + trans* issues and how they intersect, anything by kate bornstein is good for gender stuff! i'm currently reading a book called 'that's revolting: queer strategies for resisting assimilation' which so far is good, it's about how the gay rights movement has become so heteronormative (homonormative??) and neglects queers who don't want to be assimilated or who don't fit into acceptable ideas of how queer people should be. IF THAT MAKES SENSE, sorry i just woke up. feminism wise, i haven't read a huge amount of actual books on it, but i've heard bell hooks is a good place to start?? just steer clear of 'how to be a woman' and you should be fine xoxo

when i was young and deprived of actual queer people and half in da closet! but i do feel ur str8 gal pain xo

i sort of miss the intensity and 'oh my god' feeling of liking someone so much when you're young, especially when you were both girls and it made it even more exciting and unbelievable when something happened. i think all of my feelings have been turned down so much that i never really feel much anymore which is good in some ways but i also miss feeling so much i thought i'd burst.

FOND MEMORIES.

urgh watching a documentary about aileen wuoronos and it just makes me so angry and upset. she was let down by everyone who should have taken care of her, and the systems that were put in place to protect her instead exploited her and denied her any chance of justice. it's fucking disgusting that a woman can be repeatedly raped and abused and when she kills the men who do it she's sentenced to death.

another thing that is so horrible about it all is that so many people found it difficult to believe that seven men would attempt to rape a prostitute in the space of a year- like that was a big number, big enough to be unbelievable

are you fucking kidding me??? ugh the world is such a horrible and depressing place women who kill their rapists should be given fucking medals not killed themselves
