I’ll never forget that one time I was talking to this boy and I rejected him (mind you I almost gave him my address because we were supposed to go out) and he stalked and harassed me for an entire month and put my number on Craigslist (I was getting hundreds of calls and texts every day to the point my phone stopped working).

I had one throw a water bottle at me for ignoring him as I walked down the street. I was 6 months pregnant with my daughter on my way to a doctors appointment. The bottle missed me.

I usually end up taking most my classes in evening so I can go straight to work after. For a year or so I never carried anything with me. When the security guard at my job found out he was livid. He went and got me mace and a little pocket knife.

Mind telling us why you rejected him after making plans not to? Context so you dont seem shitty… some times people make the bed, shit in it and try to blame someone else cause they feel bad… then act like they don’t know what they did was wrong.

I don’t owe you, a stranger, an explanation especially after you just said that I deserved to be stalked and harassed. I can reject whoever I want, whenever I want because I felt like it.

This is tumblr so what I’m about to say may be unpopular on some level but it you live in certain parts of the U.S and are 21 or over, you can carry a gun in your purse with the proper permits and training. I only know North Carolina law so idk how it is for everyone but, right now as a near 22 year old female, I can get a permit to carry a .32 in my bag and if I have to use it in clear self defense, I will not be arrested. The class to get a concealed carry permit costs money but when you work late into the night like I do, having a gun in a country where most bad people also have guns (especially in the south) can be a matter of life or death. I get that a lot of people don’t like the idea of using a gun but 9/10 times, you won’t even have to use it. The act of simply making it known and/or visible that you’re packing heat is enough during most instances. When my mother and I went to Walmart a couple of years ago and this guy was following us, she only had to put her hand in her purse and shoot him a very specific look (what I would call the universal “I will fuck you up” look) and he backed off. She didn’t even have to pull her gun out of her bag. Sometimes it’s that simple, sometimes it’s not but always remember that knives require very short distances to work as protection, and if your knife is small, some people won’t be deterred. Stay safe out there.
