“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”

It happens to the best of us. You’re in the shower, minding your own cleanliness, when that eureka moment hits, only to vanish moments later when you reach for your towel.

That’s the fate that befell Coby’s most recent shower thought. “It might have been for an invention, or a blog he was going to start,” says Macy Randolf, a source familiar with the situation. “Whatever it was, it was probably going to change the world. And then – poof. It was gone.”

Multiple reports from the scene claim Coby has been thinking about it all day long. “He’s re-tracing is steps, hoping to trigger the memory” says Arnold Koerber, Coby’s roommate and longtime friend. “He even took a second shower an hour later to try and get it back. No luck.”

Whatever it was, we’re confident in saying that the world is at a loss for never knowing it. The Fluffington Post will update this story as it develops.

Somehow, generations of kids have been able to understand that octo- means eight while still accepting that October is the tenth month.  Likewise, dinosaur literally means “terrible lizard,” but we now know dinosaurs were far more closely related to birds than reptiles. Unless you’re petitioning for the last three months of the year and an entire category of extinct animals to be renamed as well, methinks you all need to chill.

You know what else uses the prefix bi-? Bicycle, meaning “two circles/wheels.” Yet when you add training wheels to a child’s bicycle, it’s still called a bicycle. Prefixes have meanings, yes, but once new words with those prefixes come into common usage, they acquire and develop meaning independently of what their component roots meant. Which is why dinosaurs can be proto-birds, October can be the tenth month, and bisexuals can be attracted to more than two genders. Funny how that works.

And for those who are yelling about PP not doing mammograms, “screenings” are not just mammograms.  "Screenings" are also breast exams, which are the first line of defense. Those breast exams are done every time a woman has a pelvic exam, which she needs in order to get birth control or STI testing. Get it together. Semantics do not change the facts.
