Extremely excited about Sun and Moon. Have been for a while, but the latest trailers have made it even more apparent that I need to get my hands on at least one of those games as soon as possible. Iâm a little disappointed that the gem your character wears on their wrist seems to have direct ties to Z-Moves, since that debunks the Burst Gem/Pokemon-Trainer Fusion theory, but I suppose it would be difficult to get Burst Gems and their effects feeling right in a handheld Pokemon game, so I canât complain much about getting Z-Moves instead.

I am one such an individual, and last night I was super pumped to try this concealer. Out of curiosity I read the ingredients and saw something called arachidyl behenate.
Anything with the root âarachiâ such as âarachis oilâ is probably peanut related. And, sure enough, I did some research and arachidyl behenate is peanut-derived. Which is the story of how I nearly smushed a deadly food allergen into my skin.
Thereâs a report here from last year that seems to indicate that some food allergens are neutralized when processed for cosmetics, but Iâm not sure that applies for peanuts. And at any rate, they did indicate there was still a risk of a reaction if such proteins werenât processed properly.
Now, Iâm gonna say it outright - Iâm not one hundred percent sure that a heavily processed peanut-derived chemical such as arachidyl behenate will cause a reaction. Iâve worn a lot of makeup over the years without checking the ingredients, so I could have easily used a product containing it without knowing. Still, better safe than sorry.

Okay, I donât know how many of my followers care about Sonic the Hedgehog at all, and I know this is a heavy deviation from the usual posts I make, but Iâve had a theory the last few days: What if Tails was working for Eggman right up until Sonic Adventure DX?
Tails first shows up in Sonic 2, following Eggmanâs defeat in Sonic 1, and is described multiple times, in canon, as a fox with an IQ "rivalingâ Dr. Eggmanâs - that is, an IQ close enough that Tailsâ creations can match Eggmanâs. Seems strange to me that an 8-year-old fox with no known parents, house, or even access to technology should somehow be as smart as a man who basically spends his entire life - from what we know - making death machines powered by small animalsâ life energy. More reasonable would be the assumption that Eggman himself is responsible for Tailsâ alleged âgeniusâ, providing the fox with devices that easily provide the illusion of brilliance.
Now, in Sonic 2, Tails isnât especially helpful for Sonic - anyone thatâs played Sonic 2 knows that Tails bumbles into danger more often than he escapes it, and frequently gets âkilledâ by Eggmanâs various boss machines, only to reappear from above shortly thereafter. Even aside from the fact that Sonic doesnât come back from death as quickly as Tails does, one must acknowledge that Tails does very little for Sonic - in fact, his habit of trailing behind Sonic in special stages can often cause Sonic to lose the rings he needs to get through the special stage, especially during any of the numerous occasions where Tails collects some rings and then wanders into a mine or something of the sort, losing the rings in the process.
This is a pattern that continues throughout the game until we reach Wing Fortress Zone, where Tails flies the Tornado directly into the path of a laser beam on the Fortress itself. The Tornado is shot down, its systems fried severely enough for the plane to descend, and we donât see it again...until about three minutes later, when the plane has apparently been repaired. Thereâs no sensible explanation as to how Tails could have repaired the Tornado in a three-minute span - it suffered from liberal applications of laser beam, and no quick patch job could possibly have been done to fix it. Logically, the plane either wasnât really damaged, or it was, and Robotnik and Tails cooperated to ensure that the location over which the Tornado would be shot down was predetermined - and, by extension, that a backup Tornado was in the designated landing spot for Tails to hop into.
Tails helps Sonic onto the Death Egg shuttle, yes, but Tails doesnât come along for the ride - he disappears after helping Sonic get to the Death Egg. Whatâs waiting for Sonic at the Death Egg is a particularly insidious pair of machines - a robot replica of Sonic, dubbed âSilver Sonicâ, and a giant, Eggman-shaped mech which Eggman should have been able to deploy any time, if it were finished. The fact of the matter here is that the Death Egg was complete, but the machines housed inside of it likely werenât - creating the space station before creating anything itâs supposed to house would ensure that Eggman has a secure location to begin construction of any particularly powerful machines. However, he intentionally has Tails fly Sonic up to this secure location, so the two of them can work together to take Sonic out once and for all - first with Silver Sonic, controlled by Tails, then with the Death Egg Robot, piloted by Eggman.
To elaborate: Silver Sonic, in this theory, would also be incomplete, programmed with the ability to perform some of Sonicâs moves, but without the ability to execute these moves - it could use a spin attack, but it isnât programmed to do so on its own. Tails disappears during the Death Egg section of the game because heâs controlling Silver Sonic remotely; Eggman hasnât been following Sonic around this entire time, as heâs been much too busy creating new boss machines between zones. (Of course heâs making them on the fly - why else would he start with something as weak as the drill tank?) Instead, he gets Tails to follow Sonic around everywhere, memorize the hedgehogâs strengths and weaknesses, and then attempt to exploit those weaknesses using a remotely-controlled Silver Sonic. To avoid suspicion, he also saves Sonic from falling to his death at the end of the game - Sonic has, by this point, likely met Amy Rose, and Amy would presumably seek revenge on Eggman and anyone else responsible for Sonicâs death.
In Sonic 3 & Knuckles, meanwhile, Tails simply...isnât useful in the slightest. He can carry Sonic up to higher ledges, sure, but thatâs really all he does in the story, aside from bringing Sonic to Angel Island in the first place. Anyone acquainted with the lore would know that Eggman fooled Knuckles into thinking Sonic was on the island to steal the Master Emerald and Chaos Emeralds; Tails would have had to be introduced to Knuckles somewhere along the line, and the two would consider each other business partners, for all intents and purposes. Tails would fly Sonic to Angel Island, but wouldnât fly the Tornado any further than the beach; Knuckles would hit Sonic and start taking the Chaos Emeralds, and Tails would conveniently show up too late to help Sonic get the Emeralds back. Again, Tails assists Sonic at the end of the story, bringing the Master Emerald back to Angel Island in the process to maintain the illusion that heâs helping Sonic out - Knuckles has sided with Sonic at this point, and those two combined would form a force too powerful for Eggman to overcome, considering Knuckles easily dealt with tougher versions of Eggmanâs robots in his side of the storyline.
Somewhere along the line, Tailsâ Skypatrol takes place. Tails is allegedly off on his own adventure on a remote island occupied by Witchcart, who insists that the island is hers and threatens the animal inhabitants of the island by turning them to crystal. These crystals are useless for Dr. Eggman - he needs the animal inhabitants of the island for his own robot army - and so he sends Tails along to take control of the island from Witchcart. The plot of Tails Adventure follows a similar theme: a remote island on Mobius is invaded by a force that directly threatens Eggmanâs control of the planet, and Tails is sent in not for âvacation timeâ, but to eliminate the threat to Eggmanâs control.
The turning point, of course, comes in Sonic Adventure, where Tails continues to bumble his way around for a bit, making âmistakesâ when theyâre most inconvenient for Sonic (getting shot down by the obvious front laser cannon on the Egg Carrier, âforgettingâ the landing gear on the Tornado 2â˛s battle mode). Playing as Tails in Sonic Adventure even means getting in Sonicâs way, outrunning him to take the Chaos Emeralds before he can - possibly to give them to Eggman if Sonic is ever defeated. However, something major happens to cause Tails to switch sides - something Eggman has never done before.
Throughout Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Eggman is shown using animals as living batteries for his machines - the animals provide energy to the machines, but the machines never kill the animals, and destroying the machines means letting the animals run free. Tailsâ Skypatrol establishes that non-living animals are useless to Eggman - but Witchcart would likely have been harmless on her own, content to wheel around her little island, turning the animals there to crystal as she saw fit. I posit that Tails must have decided, of his own volition, to save the animals on the island, for reasons I, in all honesty, canât be bothered to imagine at this time. Tails cares enough about the animals to save them from being turned to crystal, because they canât be turned back - they are, for all intents and purposes, dead. Such would have been Froggyâs fate at the hands of Chaos 6: Eggman lets Froggy, possessed by Chaos, hop into Chaosâs incomplete body and restore Chaosâs tail, adding an extra Chaos Emerald in the process. At this point, playing Bigâs storyline shows that Froggy is trapped in Chaos 6 - Big needs to outright fish Froggy out of Chaos 6, and the frog likely never would have left Chaos 6 otherwise.
Tails realizes, from Eggmanâs carelessness, that Eggman was willing to let Froggy, an innocent animal, the kind Tails feels obligated to keep away from death, die for the sake of attempting to control something Eggman never really could take control of. If Tails hadnât seen this, he never would have switched sides, and the Egg Carrierâs destruction would have meant Sonicâs death as well. Instead, Tails sees Froggyâs near-death and realizes how horrible Eggman is, switching sides and stealing Eggmanâs technological gifts to use them against him later on, as well as taking Sonic off of the Egg Carrier before its explosion. Eggman launches a missile at Station Square, where it lands in the middle of the city, not quite primed to detonate. At this point, Eggman doesnât realize that Tails has turned against him, so it comes as a surprise to him when, during the last level Tails has in Sonic Adventure, Tails not only catches up to Eggman en route to the missile, but passes the dictator by in the process, heading toward the missile to defuse it. You can practically hear the confusion, the disappointment, the sadness in Eggmanâs voice in one of the lines he utters when Tails passes him - âTails, wait for meâ, a line that suggests Eggman really, truly wasnât expecting Tails to pass him. (Why would he expect Tails to wait for him unless he assumed Tails was still working for him up until that moment?)
Itâs Tailsâ betrayal which, most interestingly of all, provokes a particularly strong reaction from Eggman. In Sonic Lost World, Eggman is clearly shown expressing murderous anger toward the Zeti following their betrayal; he never shows this kind of anger to anyone else in the game, even Sonic or Tails, but itâs because the Zeti betrayed Eggman that he gets so intimidating toward them. This is a behavioral pattern we would see before, following this theory: Tails betrays Eggman, and Eggman, furious, unleashes something he only unleashes again after another betrayal later in the series: a sincere, and chilling, threat to end a life.
âYou fool. Away, before I make mincemeat out of you.â
...Thereâs no real way for me to close this off, so Iâm just going to end it there. Itâs a silly theory, and Iâm sure there are some obvious points where canon contradicts me, but itâs something that occurred to me in the last two or three days, and I felt like sharing.
Extra note: if you live in Oregon, New Jersey, Michigan or New York and see one of these, call your stateâs department of agriculture to report it, and trained professionals will come kill it before it can produce seeds and spread.
Frankly, if you see one in general, probably call your DOA and see if thereâs a program in place.
Do not burn it, because the smoke will give you the same reaction.

According to the US Department of Agriculture, these are currently the states and provinces in North America where Giant Hogweed is present. Even if your state/province is âclearâ that doesnât mean that it is not there. If you see Giant Hogweed in your yard or anywhere please call your DOA! This stuff is mad deadly!
Also here is a human for size reference. Since they are huge it should be easy enough to see and spot when fully grown.
The burns can also be very bad, far worse than any poison ivy. Just Google âGiant Hogweed Burnsâ and youâll see. It can cause bad blistering, red painful rashes, and more. Please be careful of this plant!
Also, if you are in the Iowa/Minnesota area (maybe farther, I donât exactly know), there is a close relative (also invasive) with yellow flowers called wild parsnip.

It only gets to about half the size of giant hogweed but has all the same toxic effects. The plants in the pictures look small but Iâve seen ones at least 6 feet tall with stems two inches thick.
A lot of pictures available of giant hogweed are fullsized and in bloom. Just because it lacks the flowers doesnât mean itâs not hogweed! It is dangerous well before that point.
As seen above, another important detail when identifying them can be the stems. They often have this reddish speckling, and are covered in bristly hairs. Like the rest of the plant, you should absolutely not touch them either.
You can see here how the redness is mostly on larger, older portions of the stems.
For those of you in Ontario, here is a link to some more information via Ontarioâs Invading Species Awareness Program . It has details on the plantâs growth, removal methods, and groups you can report sightings to.
Unfortunately I lack information on herbicide use, but if the responsibility of removing giant hogweed somehow falls to the owner, please research local laws/restrictions concerning the use of things such as glyphosate (roundup). It is always possible to make things worse instead of better, so exercise caution in all areas, not just the handling/disposal of the plant.
This is not bullshit. My sister works for the Cooperative Extension in New York and this is a big P.R. focus for them. They have trouble because somebody may spot some of these on a neighborâs property and call it in, but they canât get permission to go in and take it out because the neighbors think itâs âprettyâ or they ânaturalâ and want it to stay.
Hereâs another thing about it that makes it dangerous and maybe might scare some people into doing something about it: this time of year, (winter) the dried stuff is tailor-made for attracting kids: long, light, jointed. It looks like bamboo and they will use it to frame up little huts, make beaded necklaces, use as âsword.â, etc. The worst is itâs hollow which makes it perfect for BLOW GUNS.  Imagine getting that stuff on your lipsâŚ.

Giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) is an invasive herb in the carrot family which was originally brought to North America from Asia and has since become established in the New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Northwest regions of the United States. Giant hogweed grows along streams and rivers and in fields, forests, yards and roadsides, and a giant hogweed plant can reach 14 feet or more in height with compound leaves up to 5 feet in width.
Giant Hogweed sap contains toxic chemicals known as Furanocoumarins. When these chemicals come into contact with the skin and are exposed to sunlight, they cause a condition called Phytophotodermatitis, a reddening of the skin often followed by severe blistering and burns. These injuries can last for several months, and even after they have subsided the affected areas of skin can remain sensitive to light for years. Furanocoumarins are also carcinogenic and teratogenic, meaning they can cause cancer and birth defects. The sap can also cause temporary (or even permanent) blindness if introduced into the eyes.
If someone comes into physical contact with Giant Hogweed, the following steps should be taken:
Wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and COLD water as soon as possible.
Keep the exposed area away from sunlight for 48 hours.
If Hogweed sap gets into the eyes, rinse them with water and wear sunglasses.
See a doctor if any sign of reaction sets in.
If a reaction occurs, the early application of topical steroids may lessen the severity of the reaction and ease the discomfort. The affected area of skin may remain sensitive to sunlight for a few years, so applying sun block and keeping the affected area shielded from the sun whenever possible are sensible precautions PLEASE, DO NOT JUST READ AND SCROLL! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AND POTENTIALLY LIFE-SAVING INFORMATION!!!

At 3:34 am local time for Marinaâs location, the Enfield Police tweeted that officers had visited and checked on Marina and affirmed that she is safe and well.

- Canada is actively attempting to increase and improve refugee resettlement.
- It has been determined that the manatee population has bounced back so much (500%) that it can be moved from âendangeredâ to âthreatenedâ.

Yes, there have been some really bad things that have happened in 2016. There have also been a number of huge fucking miracles, and SIMILAR bad things have always happened, just about every damn year - maybe not to you, or maybe they didnât make the news, and maybe you just donât remember any of the good because of that whole massive Negative Bias problem that human brains have, but?
A lot of good shit happened. A lot.
And like I do actually get the sudden overwhelmed feeling of EVERYTHING SUCKS? but that mindset is, at this point, literally our worst enemy. âEverything is terrible somebody do somethingâ helplessness is what will in fact consign us to everything BEING terrible.Â
Everything is not terrible. In fact there are new ways, every single month, wherein new opportunities and miracles are happening and no that does not balance out the bad shit but it gives every reason to FIGHT the bad shit, and to get past the bad shit, and to make sure the bad shit ISNâT the overwhelming stain.Â
