outing someone isn't just like 'oh no don't do that it's mean :( don't be a meanie :(' it's like........ literally dangerous.......... like literally .... dangerous ....... you DON'T know how it is going to affect someboy like they could literally be KILLED for it so like if u think ur being funny or clever for outing someone because you disagree with an opinion they posted on twitter or for LITERALLY ANY REASON EVER, literally choke! you are disgusting! also even if they aren't in a physically dangerous situation, screw you for taking away their opportunity to come out on their own terms and for scaring them.

like... do cishet people know the GRAVITY of outing someone? it’s so dangerous in every aspect. people could lose jobs, homes, family... they could be physically injured or worse. outing someone is not just a fun quirky way of getting revenge. outing someone is putting their lives in direct and grave danger. this is beyond sickening. everyone needs to be talking about this. this is so much greater than any fandom drama and if i see any of you ignoring it or dismissing it as such it’s on sight.

if i see a single person label this as “fandom drama” i will fucking lose it you are dismissing people’s lives,,, their lives

I just want some of you that are quiet during all of this are being complicit with everything that’s happening. To a lot of queer folk in this fandom, this is their safe space. And to some people who aren’t out this is the only place they feel safe to be 100% themselves. The fact that the safety they should feel here is being taken away should enrage you. And if it’s not then you need to take a look in the mirror and think about why that is

If you’re straight and you’re offering anything other than support and protection right now please take several steps back, you’ll never understand the fear of getting outed and doxxed and the life threatening danger it can put some queer people in. Support and protect your queer friends in this fandom.

outing someone isnt just sharing some little secret someone posted on the Internet, because it’s not just “some little secret” — it is the conclusion someone has come to (or is still coming to!) on their own identity, not shared with family members or irls for reasons that are their business, but a reminder that one of those reasons is often times the possibility of encountering physical danger or harm. people end up KILLED. BEATEN. ABUSED. KICKED OUT. HOMELESS. let alone any of the emotional & verbal abuse that can & often does come of it. EVEN IF someone’s family ends up being accepting, it’s their decision to choose when to share that and to open themselves up to the possibility of receiving that acceptance. you could be creating a horrible moment for someone or even be taking one that would’ve been wonderful away. you are actively affecting someone’s livelihood by doing this, and it’s not funny — it’s disgusting & inhumane.
