Someone in administration at my university and I follow each other on Twitter and every so often she'll tweet something like "NO I WILL NOT SUBMIT A TECH SUPPORT CLAIM I WILL DIE ON THIS ADMINISTRATIVE HILL" or I'll tweet something like "lmao almost accidentally marked myself available to work stage crew for my own recital" and both of us just kind of silently like each other's tweets and I like to think it's both of us just going "yes, yes, I get it I don't want to deal with *___ person* either our school is wonderful" and I think that's beautiful.

In the Fall I was dealing with a lip injury and all of the awful things that come with it. I couldn't (or, rather, wouldn't) take time off until the next break so I played on it for 7 more weeks and made it worse. Please, don't do what I did. Regardless, over the course of the rest of the year I slowly grew my endurance and range back. Today I played the first clear, concise F above the staff since that lip injury in the Fall. Honestly, I could not be more happy about this. I may not get up to the same range I had way back when I was a lead player but for the orchestral world, a good F is plenty. I've still got a long way to go but I now have the tools to do it.
