Judging by the combo of Undertaker's fresh scars, loose hair, and modern suit clothes here I think we can safely say that he got his scars relatively recently, post-desertion or mid-desertion. I'm still betting on "he tried to take down Dispatch and/or the higher ups on his own"

Layla/Al split personality in Black Butler
Here's my crack theory for the day: Al is just the start of Layla spelled backwards to represent Layla's shadow-side or polar opposite personality. Is it that simple for the alternate personality or is Al a demon or other person who has had too much of their soul or cinematic record added to Layla? @abybweisse Do you think so? Also: It's pretty easy to judge if blood will coagulate just by mixing droplets from two different donors together before they start to react to the air. We did it in class once before doing some official blood tests afterward. That level of determination would certainly be possible for Undertaker since even Holmes could have done it. Druitt would probably have issues with finding his blood type wasn't rare enough, and demand only pure type just to keep himself feeling special.

You won’t find this pigeon on the streets of New York City. Meet the Pink-necked Green Pigeon (Treron vernans)! This colorful bird can be found throughout Southeast Asia, where it inhabits forests. It hangs out in small flocks in the treetops, foraging mainly for fruit. Distinguishing males from females isn’t too difficult: Females lack pink necks and are mostly olive-green in color!
