The yellow throated marten of northern India and its close relative the Nilgiri marten (Martes gwatkinsii) of southern India are powerful, agile, omnivorous and arboreal Mustelids that take a variety of relatively large prey, including monkeys and small ungulates such as mouse deer
They are known to hunt in packs
