"Oh, I..." it was not often that the special agent found himself at a loss for words, momentarily stumped by the question that had caught him so off-guard.
He regains his composure relatively quickly though, meeting the sheriff's sickeningly gorgeous doe eyes with a resolute square of his shoulders.
"Harry... I simply thought that my lodgings weren't appropriate for the consummation of our-"

hi there, this is a rp ask blog for both special agent dale cooper and sheriff harry truman. still no particular rules or triggers other than to make sure (if you submit a question ofc) to indicate who the prompt is meant for and who you are. you do not have to be either one of the boys, you can be any other twin peaks character, original character etc. if you submit anonymously, please make sure to add a signature of some sort so that it's easier for both parties to keep track!

After years of schooling - finding out which career would work best for her Kathleen decided on secretary work. The one job she landed on was at the local police station. Twin Peaks was a quiet town - for the most part. That being said , the murder of a local girl Laura Palmer shook up the whole town. The police station being busier than it had the whole time she worked there , the young woman constantly having paperwork to do , phone calls to answer , and townsfolk to comfort.
Everything changed when Dale Cooper arrived. Kathleen sat behind the front desk ; she wore a pencil skirt that was a darker shade of red , contrasting with the paleness of her skin. The sweater she wore was a turtle neck , a burnt shade of orange. Her blonde hair was half up , curled at the ends. Soft makeup suited her features , the most notable was a bright shade of red that clung to her pouty lips. The station doors open - entering Harry Truman and another man whom she had yet to meet. “Good morning Sheriff!” She greeted , smiling sweetly at Harry , her blue doe like eyes scanning over his features before catching on the man whom stood beside him. “Good morning to you sir!” She said politely.
"Ah, yes," Harry shakes his head at the greeting before gently guiding his guest - his new partner, it looked like - towards the receptionist desk. "This is Miss [Surname], our secretary," he introduces her to the Special Agent before turning to her properly. "Anything happen while I was away?"
The FBI Agent next to the Sheriff, curiously lets his eyes wander across the station as they walk in, taking it in for the first time. It smelled of trees - douglas firs, he now knew - and something else, more distinctly earthy. Best of all, however, it smelled like slightly-burnt coffee. Just the way he liked it.
Then, Cooper turns to the woman he was being introduced to and gives her a polite smile. "Good morning."

She can't help it - her heart also nearly drops to the floor at Harry's words, particularly how he says them. Slightly out of breath and in disbelief, clearly affected. She hadn't thought this through at all.
Swallowing a little, she continues to fidget with his perfectly adequate tie. "I'm sorry," she says quietly, though she feels a little pathetic all of a sudden now. Also, she had never noticed the colour of his eyes. - 🥀
"No, I-" Harry breathes out, shaking his head. He felt like his entire heart was in his throat.
This time round, he doesn't know whether it was deliberate or still instinct but the hand that was on her thigh squeezes it softly. Almost reverently.
Her perfume, what was it? Harry couldn't quite place it, he was never good with these sort of things, but even if he were he was sure he'd never be able to pinpoint it correctly. It was making his head spin.
Of course, she had been exaggerating a little bit when she'd commented on the state of Harry's tie, wanting to tease him. As always.
That did not explain in the slightest, however, why she'd dropped on his lap like that to redo it. It had happened so fast, without a single thought on her end, that she felt like she was already halfway done with the tie before she even realised what she had done. How close Harry's face was to hers, his hand on her leg.
Again, without really thinking, her first instinct is to deflect - or perhaps, in this case, distract. That's why she tugs on his tie a little harder than necessary, smirking softly. - 🥀
Harry's breath catches in his throat when she tugs at his tie, which was probably a good thing because at least now he could pretend his shortness of breath was due to a different reason.
"Jesus," he chuckles, albeit halfheartedly. The hand that he had placed on her leg felt like it was burning, though he couldn't bring himself to move it.
[ ADJUST ] : for whichever character you're in the mood for and the person opposite them is also of your own choosing (can be the other one, different character, even oc of any gender... the world is your oyster). - 🥀
"I know for a fact you've worn ties before and that your father taught you how to tie one, so I don't know how you ca-" was what she was saying before she had unceremoniously dropped onto his lap, making Harry's heart stop dead in his chest.
He blinks in surprise before his eyes land on her face, so close to his own, that it was now his lungs' turn to stop working. Her brows are furrowed in both disgruntlement and concentration, as she unties his tie, then quickly draws it around his neck again. It was probably a good thing that she wasn't looking at him because Harry was pretty sure that this time, he was completely unable to hide his feelings for her on his face.
They were so close he could smell her perfume. He'd caught faint wisps of it here and there, but it was such a faint scent, that one could only catch signs of it if they were incredibly close to her. Harry had barely even allowed himself to dream of this.
If he hadn't been as weak as he was, Harry would not have put his hand on the side of her thigh as soon as she'd sat down. He hadn't even noticed that he'd done it and probably would have been mortified, if he wasn't so mesmerised by the feel of her fingers quickly working on his tie and the way the sunlight was reflecting on her skin.

"Wha- hmph!" Harry huffs, unable to finish his sentence because all of a sudden his entire heart had leapt into his throat.
Earlier, he and Hawk had been outside in the parking lot - one of the police cars had a flat tire, and as much as Harry loved giving Big Ed traffic for that sort of thing, they had all the equipment they needed here at the station anyway. Once the two of them had finished with that, Harry returned to his office, where the ever-buzzing Coop was already waiting for him, pouring over notes of evidence.
He'd heard him say something about having something on his face - dirt, probably - but Harry had admittedly not paid enough attention to register that properly, his mind elsewhere as he poured himself another cup of coffee. If he'd paid attention, he would've noticed the strange look on Coop's face, or the quick strides around his desk as soon as Harry had sat down.
But he hadn't. And now, Coop had unceremoniously planted himself right on his lap and Harry was glad to have placed the mug he was carrying on his desk mere seconds ago.

SITTING IN SOMEONE'S LAP PROMPTS.
listen. i want to tell ye that i have infinite reasons for making this. that i've been designing this for weeks, months even. but i can't. this happened because i saw one (1) meme and aligned that with two (2) cups of coffee. either way besties, you're all getting a strangely detailed list of reasons to drop your muse into another muse's lap. you wanna switch the roles? add a [ REVERSE ] if you want your muse to be the lap that's being sat in! don't add to this list, don't claim it as your own, i'll curse all your potatoes to be soapy and sad to consume.
[ SHAVE ]: sender sits in the receiver's lap so they can carefully shave the last of the receiver's stubble from their face.
[ MAKE-UP ]: sender sits in the receiver's lap in order to get a better vantage point to apply makeup to their face.
[ SNIP-SNIP ]: sender sits in the receiver's lap whilst giving them a haircut.
[ HAIR ]: sender sits in the receiver's lap so that the receiver can style or just play with their hair in peace.

Also, make sure to add a signature of some sort so we can keep track! also, as of now, the author is somewhere mid season 2 of twin peaks (yes, first time watcher! very new fan!) so i would very much appreciate if your submissions were not in any way spoilery.
