Oh my GOD I haven’t posted here in forever but I realllyyyy wanted to share my OC lore. Idk read if you want I just want people to get into my ocs yah! (Doomed Yaoi…doomed Yuri…)

World/setting:
it takes place in a somewhat futuristic city (I still don't have a name for it ). It's mostly normal, but scientists have finally figured out how to make other humanoid species. Theres a huge science lab, and it's super advanced now that they've figured at least some of this out. The scientists first project was to make an advanced human. One that can endure more than the average human, wether it be mentally, emotionally, or physically. This new species is called Nytharii. Nytharii are made to be weapons for now, and hopefully advance into the majority of the population. But the exerpiment ultimately failed after testing for a couple of years. they realized they didn't make them as advanced as they wanted. Nytharii look mostly like humans, but they usually have natural eye colors and distinct ears (like pointy). They have longer natural lifespans but they can and will die from severe injury. They have sharper reflexes similar to an animals, and heightened senses (smell, touch, hearing, ete.) The scientists have discontinued Nythari but still continue to experiment on them just in case. The Nytharii species has been around for about 20 years now, and are still being experimented on despite being discontinued.
These labs are very unethical (as expected), they basically torture their subjects (constant needles, water tanks, drugs, etc), but most people see it as a good thing, since the labs portray it as such. The truth eventually started coming out. It was revealed they have started experimenting on humans who didn't agree to it. But the labs still exist, and despite that tiny bit of backlash, they still are thriving. The truth was blinded by the media.
This city is very money focused, it's not hard to sway someone's opinion, or make them do something, if you hand them a load of cash. (This part contributes to most of the characters)

Character #1: Oakley (experiment 04)

Talent: stealing.

Childhood/backstory (brief summary):
He was made in the labs as a Nytharii. Throughout his childhood, he was tested on unethically. The tests crossed the lines of torture. Until he was 10ish, he had a very nice "nurse" as his parental figure. Her name was Lena, and she gave him the name Oakley to humanize him. She was just kind of one of the labs "nurses", but she got offered a huge amount of money by her boss to stop treated Oakley as a human. They didn't want Oakley starting to get emotional, or question things. Because of the money, she hesitantly turned her back on him. The scientists wanted to see Oakley's emotional and mental endurance now that he's been "humanized". Oakley woke up in the security room, and was forced to watch how he was tested on, and Lena left him. Obviously, his emotional and mental endurance to watching himself be literally tortured wasn't at all good. That was the moment Oakley knew he didn't want this life, and he wanted freedom. After 20 years in the lab, Oakley was done. He wanted to escape so bad and he didn't care what that escape was. Whether it was physically getting out of the labs, dying, or making himself feel some freedom. One day, after being tested on, he woke up in his (isolated and locked up) room to screaming. The floor was bloody and he heard sirens going off. The scientists were running past his room. He saw a bunch of dead ones though, and then saw who killed them (Ernest). He thought he'd be killed by that person, too, as they started walking to his room and broke it open. He was fine with dying at that point-but he was still scared. But the person didn't kill him for some reason, they just reached out a hand and helped him escape.

Backstory/childhood summary:
He had two siblings, a older brother (Waylen) and a younger sister (Bella). His parents would always fight and also become abusive to each other and the kids. This was physical, mental and emotional abuse: Waylen would bully Ernest, likely having learned it from their parents. Bella was a sweet child who looked up to Ernest, and Ernest cared for her. Around 9 years old, Ernest stumbled outside upon his dad stabbing a picture of his mom with a machete. His dad told him if she was gone, he'd finally have freedom. Ernest wondered if that's the only way towards freedom, if that's what he should do. Something inside him almost cracked. Later that night Ernest planned on killing his parents to gain freedom. He went to the garage and grabbed his dad’s machete from the garage and hid in his room. Suddenly he heard a gunshot and peeked out of his room. His dad had a gun, and shot Bella. Ernest killed his dad, mom, and Waylen. He stayed homeless after that, becoming good at stealing things, and to makeup for his lost school work, he read books he found from the people he killed and the ones he found in the trash.
Character #3: Bennett (last name is unknown)

Backstory summary:
His parents gave him to the labs to be a human experiment when he was 12. his parents were always great, until they suddenly cared about money. That little cash bribe easily made his parents give him over to the lab. He was tested on constantly, trying to see if they could turn a normal human into something better--whatever that might be. It didn't really do anything (in the scientists favor) aside effect from his physical strength, making him stronger, and he can somewhat see hazy pictures of 5 seconds in the future, but they aren't clear. He endured a lot of the same things Oakley did. Because of that, he's haunted by nightmares and visions. These consist of when he was younger laughing with his friends, when he was at the lab being hurt, etc. But, despite having dreams of it, he can barely remember his friends faces, or his parents faces, due to the sheer amount of medicine stabbed into him and the scientists wanting him to forget just in case (it didn't work fully). He got out of the lab the same time Oakley did, but he actually escaped by himself. He found his phone he had as he was escaping so he took it with it. He opened it to find all his contacts were erased, so even if he wanted to find his friends or parents again, he couldn't. After escaping, he stayed on the streets, and in a lot of abandoned shelters. He finally met someone, someone he could call a friend (next character).

Backstory summary (it’s long omg):
He started working for the labs at around 10 years old, since his dad worked there. His mom died when he was young (like, 4 years old). At first he was just doing simple tasks, carrying around his dad's equipment, loading equipment onto a truck, etc. But when he turned 12, his dad decided he was old enough to start doing YouTube videos about the labs. Encouraging people to support the labs in their scientific studies and help the future. Avery was fully convinced what the labs were doing was the right thing. He was happy to make videos, and at just 13 he became a well known content creator with 300k subscribers. He made entertaining videos as he progressed, but continued to speak supportively about the labs due to growing up only believing the labs were good. At 14, he reached 1 million subscribers, but that came with its downsides. He started seeing comments about how the labs are disgusting and hurting people just to experiment. He started to feel conflicted, he believed what his dad always told him, about how the labs are good, but he also somewhat believed those comments. There started to be controversy around him when he reached 15, people claimed he was in support of harming innocent human beings. There was too much pressure on him, from already supporting the labs, being a young age, and fans expecting him to speak up about the controversy. He stopped talking about the labs all together, which made his dad mad. He got kicked out, since his dad only cared about the labs. He had enough money to pay for hotels and things due to his large subscriber count, but it never made him feel like enough. He continued to put on his fun happy silly go lucky YouTube persona, but deep inside he was confused. He still wasn’t sure what he wanted, who was in the right, etc. After too much pressure, stress, and confusion, he quit social media. People all over the internet wondered where he went, if he died, etc. He ran on his YouTube money for about a year before loosing most of it and having to go homeless…which he already was, he just had enough money to stay in hotels. When he turned 17, he met Bennett who completely changed his perspective on the matter.
Character personalities/basic descriptions:
Oakley:
Someone who is very curious about the world around him. He can seem timid at first, but things like gruesome stories and murder don’t scare him. But he IS scared of medical equipment due to the trauma of being heavily experimented on. His favorite food became fishsticks. Since he is a Nytharii, his senses are heightened like hearing, smell, etc. He found out he really enjoys video games and plays on Ernest’s stolen Nintendo switch. He’s very interested in holidays and human traditions. He can’t read due to being in a lab forever💔. He has his number “04” tattooed on his ankle which he hates. He has pointy elf-ish ears. His red eyes can make him almost intimidating but he won’t hurt a fly.
Ernest:
a choatic, disruptive, loud and comical serial killer. His main weapon is a machete, but he’s appreciative of all weapons. He has a huge potty mouth and he has a good sense of humour. He is the boss of his own life, he decides what he wants is what he gets. The cops haven’t found him yet, and they never will. He’s surprisingly very interested in cute things, like kittens and puppies, but he’ll vomit at the sight of a cheesy romance movie. He’s very good at reading and writing despite only having been to school for a little, but he sucks at math and every other thing there is. He’s very confident in himself.
Fun fact: he’s Australian.
Bennett:
a rebellious 16 year old teenager who can’t stop thinking. He’s moody, and resents the world for allowing that to happen to him. Due to the hazy memories, his time in the lab and the fact he’s a teenager, he struggles with his identity and barely knows who he is anymore. He stays in abandoned shelters or things for a long while before meeting Avery, and then Oakley and Ernest. (His personality unfolds more as the story goes on).
Avery:
Avery is a bubbly teenager. He is always in a good mood. He has a charming YouTuber persona, which helps him get by a lot of things. He secretly finds Ernest’s run away from the cops entertaining and fun. He loves adventure. Secretly, he doesn’t feel worthy. He hurt so many people by promoting the labs. He wants to atone for that.
Relationships:
Oakley/Ernest:
Very very good friends. At first, Oakley couldn’t stop asking Ernest questions like “what’s this?” And “what’s that?”. Ernest got used to it and will gladly answer his questions. Oakley doesn’t mind when Ernest pulls him around as they run from the cops—and Ernest has even taught Oakley how to steal things from stores. Oakley is very good at stealing now. Their relationship goes even more in depth in the writing. Ernest calls Oakley fishsticks because when they first met—Oakley smelt like fishsticks. Supposed to become a couple later. Ernest saved Oakley because he saw some of himself as a child in Oakley. But even Ernest himself still feels weird on why he saved Oakley and doesn’t know why.
Bennett/Avery:
very very close friends. Bennett and Avery met in an alleyway. Avery stumbled across this alleyway after a couple nights on the street. Bennett recognized him as that lab supporter content creator or whatever—and immediately started throwing empty Soda cans at him and cussing him out. Avery just smiled and laughed and used his stupid charming content creator persona to get Bennett to calm down a little. But right after that Bennett starts going on a tangent about what the labs did to him and he hates people in support of it. That completely makes Avery not neutral anymore and he feels sympathy. They become very close after some bickering. Bennett develops a (one-sided…as we know) crush on Avery. Avery dies in some sort of adventure thingy Oakley; Ernest, Bennett and him go on. Bennett sad☹️
Bennett/Oakley:
Become very close after meeting and realizing they both understand each other. They become really good friends and like family. They like to high five each other, and Bennett teaches Oakley some things like how to read. They are silly best friends. They get closer after Avery dies. Oakley looks up to Bennett A LOT. Bennett is very overprotective of Oakley.
Avery/Ernest:
They bicker…a lot. Ernest doesn’t like that Avery was apart of the labs that hurt Oakley so bad. Avery tries to be nice, but bickers back if needed. Ernest calls him “dumb rich kid” and Avery just replies with “I’m not rich”. They bond eventually and become like siblings. Ernest is ☹️ when Avery dies.
Bennett/Ernest:
Ernest is somewhat sympathetic towards Bennett, knowing he’s been through what Oakley has. Bennett just glares at Ernest and calls him an old man. Ernest tries to be nice because Oakley loves Bennett so much but Bennetts always such a bratty teenager to him.
Avery/Oakley:
they lack some communication with each other. They get along fine, but Oakley feels awkward around Avery after finding out Avery was one of the people who actively supported what he was going through. It’s a silent conflict, but not hate or dislike, in Oakley’s head. He tried to figure out why he feels so conflicted on his thoughts for Avery but can’t. Avery tries to be nice and kind to Oakley but senses the unease Oakley has around him.
How the four met:
Bennett/Avery and Oakley/Ernest meet in an abandoned hotel (this is after Oakley and Ernest gain some chemistry). Oakley and Ernest were there to look for supplies, like blankets, food, etc. They couldn’t really stay there since everything was kind of really really dirty and abandoned and stuff. This old hotel has some sort of connection to the labs, maybe it was built by one of the lab CEO’s or something. It doesn’t matter, but it does. Bennett got a hazy memory of one of his friends saying something about this hotel and its connection with the labs. Bennett and Avery went to search out files on who was experimented on and maybe recover Bennett’s memories. Oakley and Ernest split up as they go into the labs so they can search separately. Ernest goes up into the vents to scan out rooms and such, but suddenly as he’s looking someone bumps into him. He immedietly pulls out his knife (since a machete is too big for this small vent) and points it at whoever. It’s Avery. Avery looks dumbfounded that there’s some random grown ass man in the vents and now they are pointing a knife at him. Ernest ends up not killing Avery somehow. Avery and Ernest end up bickering and having a comedic start to their relationship. Oakley and Bennett meet in one of the office rooms. Oakley was there for the vending machine—Bennett was there to look through the file cabinets. They both get startled by each other but they both immediately know they are somewhat “the same”. They start talking and getting along, and Bennett helps Oakley work out the vending machine.
Little fun dynamic/facts things (mainly Oakley/Ernest, I wrote these when they were the only characters I had):
* Sometimes, if Oakley can’t sleep, Ernest will tell him a really gruesome horror story and it lulls Oakley to sleep…for some reason.
* Ernest is scared of ducks and geese. Hes scared they will watch him when he sleeps. Their “scary” faces will stare him in the eyes and he freaks out.
* They both like heavy metal. Ernest likes Lorna Shore and Oakley likes Korn.
* Around Halloween time, Ernest will go into Halloween stores and laugh at everything. He finds the animatronics funny and stupid. Now he pulls Oakley into these stores with him.
* Oakley’s favorite video game is Mario kart.
* They make do with what they have, since they live on the streets. They keep a little backpack full of things like blankets, snacks, etc.
* Most of Ernest’s jackets and hoodies are bloodstained, but at first it was the only warm clothes Oakley had the option to wear, so he’d walk around with a bloodstained piece of clothing on.
* Oakley sleeps curled up on his side. Ernest sleeps sprawled out like a star fish and snores loudly.
* If they stay in an alleyway, a lot of time there’s drug needles on the ground. Ernest spots them before Oakley can see them and kicks them all away.
* Oakley likes to patch up Ernest’s wounds (if he gets hurt). His patching is very messy, but he’s learning.
* Ernest likes to whistle and drag his machete against a surface to make a scary noise to scare people.
* Lena used to sing Oakley lullabies to fall asleep. Oakley hums it a lot now. Ernest ends up whistling the tune Oakley hums as a go to.
Lena & Charlotte:
Two lab nurses. They are childhood best friends. They decided to become nurses at the labs to help the experiments. The two knew how they treated the experiments, and they wanted to help them. Except…one was more easily swayed than the other.
They had a promise. A promise to someday put an end to the unethical experiments and help as many species/people as they can. The two dreamed of it. Lena took care of Oakley.
The day Lena betrayed Oakley was also the day Lena betrayed her childhood best friend; Charlotte.
Charlotte still works hard on helping the experimented, but has a hard time without Lena.
Unnamed species
This species was made fairly recently (years and years after Nytharii). Scientists wanted to see if they could achieve the possible—being the dead back to life with a species. They…somewhat failed. These species can technically bring a dead person back to life…by possessing their bodies. They gain the memories of the person, and can sometimes get confused, but they still know they are themselves. Most of them have malicious intent. It cannot be explained why most of them are made like this. they are pink themed and have pink hair, and pink/black eyes. They can be either male for female, and after they possess someone they gain some of that persons traits. When they possess someone, there’s hints of them there. The ends of that persons hair goes into a light pink, and one of their eyes turns pink.
Bella (aka experiment 278):
a mischievous girl. She has wide pink eyes, and always a grin on her face. She decided her name is Bella, because the first person she possessed was Bella Korando. She took Bella’s name (she genuinely believes it’s her own name), and some of Bella’s personality traits and memories.
These characters were based on songs, music videos, and some characters! The main four actually have playlists.
