This here is Emery! And Astarion, looking empty of thoughts. She is a Cambion (half human half fiend)! In game Cambions are a non player race but who gives a fuck about the rules tbh? Not me!
Emery masquerades as a tiefling to avoid being murdered for her devilish blood. Asking not to be murdered as a tiefling is still pretty rough.

So in Baldur’s Gate 3 you’re infected with a mind flayer parasite that should be turning you and your companions into horrific mind flayers (Cthulhu looking squid mfs) within a few days of being infected... Except you’re not. The game revolves around finding a cure!
In fact, a Cambion named Raphael comes calling and tries to convince you to give up your soul to get rid of the parasite.
Because of Raphael, when the party discovers Emery is a Cambion, they are highly distrustful, especially because she didn’t outright tell them she was a half fiend.
Now the kicker is, Emery didn’t know she was a Cambion until she was 14. Chinatsu clipped her wings as a baby to allow her to fit in more easily with tieflings when she matured.
Cambion infants are born without a heartbeat and no pulse, so any time she slept, it scared Marcus half to death. This is until the age of 7, when they begin to more closely resemble their human parent.
Emery is nowhere near as powerful as a typical Cambion in the typical sense at least. Though she is more magically gifted than the average Cambion fighter, having trained under a Green Hag posing as a druid.
