I just finished gone book one and I gotta say im disappointed in the lack of gay. Here's my queer headcanons:
Sam Temple: bisexual, but of course he only has eyes for Astrid
Caine Soren: also bisexual, though he just says he is so he can manipulate people easier
Astrid Ellison: straight, weirded out by gays at first but cool with it once she gets actual exposure
Albert Hillsborough: aroace, business is the only thing that catches his eye
Edilio Escabar: homosexual. he likes men, and everyone is always surprised when they find out
Quinn Gaither: straight, also straight-up homophobe
Drake Merwin: violently homophobic, but beats the shit out of gays the same amount he beats the shit out of straights (equality)
Diana Ladris: straight, fine with gay people
Computer Jack: doesn't know what gay means
Lana Arwen Lazar: a spectacular butch lesbian
Brianna Berenson (the Breeze): Lesbian, but she moves too fast for romance
Mother Mary Terrafino: never thinks about her sexuality, too busy taking care of the prees
Dahra Baidoo: straight ally, loves her bf
Elwood Booker: straight, chill with gays, loves his gf
Howard Bassem: has no idea that he's gay for Orc
Orc: doesn't give a shit about romance
Taylor: bisexual with a male preference
