“I’d say that it’s for the best that you don’t have them with you,” she replied with amusement. “That’s really smart! It’s just hard to separate the two sometimes, especially if you’re passionate about what you do like we are.”

“That makes sense. You know, if I can ever do anything to help for either of you, all you have to do is ask.” He was aware that the others brother didn’t really know him but it didn’t mean that the offer was any less genuine. Matthew hated the thought of anyone having to experience this but it was especially frightening for those who hadn’t had the experiences most wizards had. “I’m glad though. I’d miss you if you were gone.”

“I’d like to say that it does but I think that I find it difficult sometimes to separate myself from my work on my days off. I worry about them far more than I should. But marking does enter my every day life more regularly than it should.”

“That’s a relief! I’m glad to hear it too. I’d ask you for your thoughts, but no work talk tonight. I need to train myself to switch mental gears more often,” Dom laughed, taking the spot beside Trixie after her response. “Thanks.”

“And is he alright?” Matthew queried, hoping that nothing had happened to her family. He could only imagine what that would be like to go through. “I know… no one enjoys this really. Don’t let it put you off everything. There is so much more to love. The bad is just a tiny part of it, I promise you.”

“I guess it’s only crass in which ever way your brain takes it, I think it’s supposed to be like a camel hump. You’ve made it over the hump of the week, so therefore you can do the rest of it. A weird, motivational outlook, I guess.” Aiden chuckled, not really sure as to why he was going into so much depth of explaining the term. “I guess I could say the same.” Aiden told the other with a tight smile, feeling the pain in his shoulder and knowing it was the cause of a rough practice. “A not so great day leading to me feeling the need to have a pint before I head home.”

“It’s a piece a well intentioned and comfortably affluent older admirer of my work decided to purchase for me. It’s quite thoughtful really. I’m sure I can find an appropriate place to display it in my home.”

“Ah yes, of course. Sorry, I really should know more about what my friends do for their jobs,” Joe excused himself. “I’ve always got your back, Bebe. And I’ve got the tab tonight so feel free to drink your sorrows away on me.”

“So how many books did you get through on the lockdown? I can imagine that being how you spent the majority of your time.” Matthew questioned with a little smile. “How are you feeling?” He questioned, knowing it wasn’t going to pleasant having been stuck in the position she had been.

ALEXIS: Please tell me that you're safe. I cannot worry about you /and/ your brother right now. I know that we've read up on this, but I don't want you in the middle of it.

TRIXIE: I'm at work so not safe technically but the whole building is pretty secure right now

Nicholas: I guessed as much given that's where I am right now. Occupational hazard I guess.

Nicholas: They sound as terrible as I've heard them to be.

Nicholas: Well I'm inside, we're locked down, but whether the defenses keep is another question. But for right now, I'm safe.

Trixie: I hope they do

Nicholas: Trix, what's going on? I've been told I'm not allowed to leave work and it's loud outside.

Nicholas: People look scared in here and...

Nicholas: Is it them? The people I have heard about? The Death Eaters?

Trixie: I think so

Trixie: It's some sort of lockdown I believe. Diagon Alley is under attack

“They don’t have ideas for new drinks anymore so they just put twists on old ones?” Eva initially replied, not too impressed herself with the description of the drink but then again she wasn’t easily impressed anyways. “I mean at least it’s good right? I hope they gave you a good amount of tequila in that,” she laughed before gesturing for the bartender to come over to take her own drink order.

“Nothing good for you could be anyway.” He responded, eyeing it up once more. “Really? I thought people enjoyed any excuse to have a little alcohol.” Silas smiled in amusement. “But I suppose you should be commended for your honesty.”

“That sounds nice,” Ben nodded at her description. “Oh! This is one of those places with the really creative cocktail names, huh?” he chuckled as his eyes panned down to the menu that the woman was pointing to. “It must be a fun job to come up with these.”

“You really have thought of everything, haven’t you.” He chuckled, moving the ribbon out of the way slightly so he could read the title of what would be his next read. “I might have to slip it into my bag to read on down times at work, give my hand a break from writing. Especially since that’s what I normally do when it’s quiet.”
