Open-minded people dont care to be right, they care to understand. There's never a right or wrong answer. Everything is about understanding.

#StayWokeAndVote! Marched with Spelman SGA and HK to their polling site--which was CONSIDERABLY further than the site for Morehouse. It's ridiculous how much the opposition is trying to suppress the black vote. From closing HUNDREDS of polling sites across the country, to voter ID laws, and voter intimidation that disproportionately affect disenfranchised people and people of color. That's the TRUE rigging of our system. If our vote didn't matter, THEY WOULDN'T TRY SO HARD TO SILENCE US. Please vote for the future. For progress. For inclusion. For love. đâ¤ď¸ (at Washington Park Library)

Queen Hatshepsut of Ancient Egypt. She has a lovely smile for someone whoâs been dead for thousands of years.
she wasnât a queen. she was a pharaoh and wanted to be referred to as such. she even had her statues modeled after the male pharaohâs statues to state her dominance and authority. she was actually one of the most successful pharaohs in all of ancient egyptian history and she reigned longer than any other woman in power in egypt.
damn no wonder she died and smiled for a trillion years afterwards
The fact that we know about her is marvelous.
the next Pharaoh after her Tuthmosis IIIÂ tried to erase Hatshepsut out of history ,chiseled her name off her monuments ,covered the text on her obelisks with stone, knocked down and defaced her statues .
she was even left off the list of pharaohs ..talk about some patriarchy bullshit
her name was lost for a couple of millennia, her body was found in a unmarked grave in early twentieth century
sad part is in Egyptian belief is if your are forgotten in the living world you donât exist in the afterlife,so he was trying to kill her even in deathÂ
My best friend throwing down some herstory. A+ commentary
She wore a fake beard, you guys. She was the fucking boss.
If we remember her now does that save her from an awful afterlife?
Iâm just picturing the Kemetic afterlife. All the Pharaohs are hanging out in some kind of swanky club, drinking and congratulating each other on being bros.Â
The doors slam open and Hatshepsut strides in, glorious, robes swirling, rocking the fake beard and the insane amounts of wealth and power. âMiss me, bitches?âÂ
Then she punches Tuthmosis III straight in the dick.
King Hatshepsutâs ka is justified and fed by this post.Â
Not only did she reign for a long time, she expanded trade and wealth in Kemet to areas and volumes unprecedented in history, AND she did it without conquest or war. She had a fleet of fucking ships built just to go to Punt for trade, no other apparent reason. Before these ships were discovered, Egyptologists didnât think the ancients of Egypt knew how to sail on the sea, just the Nile. Hatshepsut knew, or at least knew who to employ to get that shit done. And got shit done she did.Â
Straight in the dick is probably right. xD
DUA NISUT! Damn right She wore the beard, thatâs what a King does.
She also had herself referred to using male pronouns quite often and flat-out had almost all depictions of her shown as a man. So I just feel itâs important that we all keep in mind that she very well could have been a trans man or genderfluid.

Am I the only one who was kinda uncomfortable with the trans-racial storyline on this weekâs Atlanta? donât get me wrong, still like the show, just trying to process the episode. I mean, I understand it was a commentary on privilege and close mindedness but I think what bothered me is in the end it kinda conflates the idea of race and gender identity. I dunno, it felt to me like they were comparing this black dude thinking heâs white to being similar to a trans person, therefore inherently âweirdâ or ânonsensicalâ? Or maybe thatâs not what they were trying to do but I worried it could be interpreted that way? The bit redeemed itself when it was revealed the guy was a bigot and therefore a complete hypocrite because he wanted people to accept him as a white man but wasnât ok with LGBT folks but I dunno. Part of me still isnât sure how I feel about it. Thoughts?
THIS. VIDEO. watch it, itâs amazing. the poetry is insane and so is the message i love it.

we donât talk enough about the importance of discipline as Christians. i think we are taught that there is a list of dos and donâts, that amount to expectations of behavior without an explanation for âwhy?â I think we miss the opportunity to get closer to God through our obedience because we arenât taught that sacrifice furthers our relationship with God.
We needlessly slit the throats of babies, then call it âhumaneâ as we dine on their flesh.
