what if we all explode
This very production of Orpheus & Eurydice is now available to stream, free, for the month of June.
In 2026, the chicest thing a gay actor can do is never explicitly come out as gay but also make it abundantly clear that he is. Coming out is too modern. Staying closeted is too old fashioned. But this method merges contemporary freedom with Old Hollywood glamour and allure, and it weeds out the dumbest people who truly donât get it. I call it the Pascal Method.
Taylor Swift does this
no she doesnât
You clearly don't go here or to queer history and signaling, or both, enough to have this conversation and I'm not going to explain it to you. You could have asked questions, you could have done even a modicum of research. You didn't and you made yourself look ignorant. Goodbye.
#I'm fucking crying#this is an instant classic#this is the next meme#i can't believe I'm here to see a baby copypasta nary two hours old#I can't#lol#i laughed way too hard#iconic

Fanfiction.net survived the purge of 2012. They survived the creation of Ao3. They even survived whatever the fuck fandom turned into in 2020.
But the thing that might just kill this goddamn website is them failing to fix the story stats for 6 fuckin' months.
Sometimes "rarepair" means "you are literally the only person who posts about this on tumblr dot com" and you have to learn to be okay with that.
tfw your ship tag has been unknowingly taken over by another fandom âŚ
you are playing with an imaginary toy in an imaginary sandbox. fandom is all about having fun and letting your imagination run wild. canon is only a suggestion, not a rule. how much of canon you will follow, if any, is entirely up to you.
please stop trying to apply rules on hobbies and something thatâs supposed to be your comfort place and a form of self-care.
âis it okay if I think thisâ âis it okay if I imagine thatâ itâs YOUR little world that you create for yourself and your own enjoyment. you literally do not need strangersâ opinions or permission when it comes to a hobby that doesnât harm or affect anybody in real life. again, itâs YOUR imagination, YOUR world, YOUR creation. you have all the power and the freedom to:
headcanon whatever you want, however you want
ship whatever you want, however you want
write whatever you want, however you want
draw whatever you want, however you want
create whatever you want, however you want
reject whatever you want, however you want
as long as youâre not harming anybody in real life, how you have fun with fictional characters and your imagination is no oneâs business but your ownâs.
last but not least: fiction is not, and will never be, a reflection of your real-life moral compass. what you like in fiction does not reflect who you are in real life as a person. kill that cop in your head.
Whenever I come across a paper thatâs testing the effects of 72 hours of sleep deprivation Iâm like dam howâd you get ethics for that in the year of our lord 2018 and every freakinâ time itâs the US military

This is somehow giving written by AI despite being published in 2015 ...
I don't ship Haydock, but I also kinda want to write a soulmark AU where the marks are kinda generic and you can only really confirm your soulmate when the mark fades after their death. Anyways, Haymitch's mark would be a little bird that he always assumed was Leonore Dove (though there was a moment of doubt when Maysilee died) but the mark doesn't disappear when she dies. Then 20 years later ...
Ever come across a post and just go "this is it - this is the worst take on the internet"
I think it would be funny to write a murder mystery where not only did every single character involved have an obvious motive to kill this mf, they were actually all attempting to murder him first, but the murder attempts all cancelled each other out all except for one. Two people tried to poison him but the poisons just happen to work as antidotes for each other, and instead of killing him only gave him the shits, and due to having the shits he couldn't go hunting that day like he had planned, foiling the plans of the one who had conditioned his favourite hunting horse to panic and bolt at the cue of a whistle, and the other murder attempt of tampering with his gun so that it would have exploded his whole face off.
The whole mystery isn't about who could have done it or how, but who was the one who got lucky and actually succeeded.
âscientists donât want you knowâ is a phrase that always cracks me up because if you actually meet a scientist they will be shaking and crying like an overstimulated chihuahua with the need to let you know

In all the criticism Iâve seen of SOTR, I havenât seen anyone talk about how fucking dumb the addition of Scrip was in District 12.
For starters, it doesn't appear to be used around the 10th Games or the 74th so it's just a thing that seemed to randomly appear for a decade around the 50th Games (Do not tell me that Katniss is such a gatekeeper she wouldn't tell you about Scrip - money and food are two things that Katniss cares about and she would absolutely tell you if there were some people paying for things in a different currency).
But the larger point is that if District Twelve is a "Company Town" then the company in question is the Capitol. The Capitol doesn't need Scrip to control the workers of District Twelve: The Capitol already controls the currency. The Capitol can limit who can hold a business license and therefore what sort of stores exist in Twelve. They can limit the supplies to Twelve and therefore the cost of goods in Twelve. They control the movement of people in and out of Twelve. The Capitol is the government - there are so many levers and regulations that a government can use to control the economy before resorting to Scrip. So what exactly would be the purpose of the Capitol issuing Scrip?
There is, of course, the non-exploitative purpose: Scrip can be useful when there isn't a lot of government issued legal tender available. Except if this was the reason for Scrip then it would make more sense to be something that exist earlier, following the Dark Days when they were still establishing things, not randomly appearing 40-50 years later.
Also the company is the government so Scrip is still government issued legal tender ...
I can kinda get behind Scrip being there to enforce segregation between the Town and Seam, but that doesnât seem to be the case. Some of the stores wonât accept Scrip, but that seemed to be for non-essential goods (like the Donnerâs candy store) so wouldnât be that big a deal. Also if it was being used to segregate Seam and Town there would be other signs of segregation - separate schools, segregation during the Reaping etc.
Scrip serves no purpose except for you to go 'oh my gosh it's scrip like a Company Town'. But Twelve was always a Company Town and we didn't need a literal Company Store to see that.
All really good points that I hadnât thought on before. You got me thinking about a few things now:
Perhaps the Capitol/Panem is recovering from a recession that Snow and friends pushed onto the Districts so the Capitol citizens wouldnât notice it? Haymitch does see some Anti Immigrant sentiments. We know itâs a fragile facade.
Although this wouldnât explain Katniss not seeing the scripâunless all of 12 is scrip by her time.
The Pound Sterling ÂŁ: The Bank of England currency is good across the UK/crown dependencies. However, excluding Wales (and then England), the others are able to issue their own currency too. Channel Islands Jersey and Guernsey each have their own but freely circulate together with BoE notes. The Isle of Man has their own. Oversea territories like the Falklands mostly have their own.
Which is to say, maybe the Capitol switched to giving the poorer Districts like 12 their own money for whatever reason (at the very least itâs a dividing quality). The only people really impacted would be Peacekeepers who try to send money home from their assigned District, someone who has to order in goods, and maybe train crews.
Katniss and Peeta never buy anything in the Capitol. 13 has their strict rationing. Peetaâs promised sharing of the Victorâs winnings become a bit of a ? but no one ever really talks about getting paid in the year they win.
Effie and the Capitol reaping team probably have everything taken care of and donât need to deal with currency in the Districts.
Yeah the Scrip inclusion is unnecessary because it would be something Katniss mentions in her economic struggles if the same system was in place for her which means Collins has created questions she doesnât need. Either for Katniss or Haymitch. Perhaps she could have gotten the same effect by having the minerâs money be dirty and thatâs made into a problem? Or done a better job of explaining the economic transition?
The peacekeepers sending money home is such an interesting point - like potentially Scrip or local currency would be really effective for controlling them as a group that has the potential to move around/move their money around. If they had to spend all their money in Twelve/Company Store it would prevent peacekeepers form accruing any kind of wealth or supporting their families during their time as Peacekeepers, which would perpetuate inequality in District Two.
