What up yall,

Some of you may remember Tree Cover from the days of Turkehbrations and Broad Street Mkt music festivals circa 2012. This was the salad daze. We had a lot of fun. Then we stepped back, or something (still trying to figure that one out). After some listlessness, depression, slacking, and contemplation, I've decided to take up the Tree Cover mantle once more. These are my (Caleb's) words.

What you may not know is that Tree Cover was, from its very quivering inception, envisioned as a record label. I am pleased to announce that I'm attempting to FINALLY make good on our original goal for the amorphous entity that's come to be known as 'Tree Cover'.

There will be tapes. There will be cds. There will be digital tracks. I want you to listen to good music made by your friends and neighbors in Harrisburg. I want to work with awesome people. I want to know when cool stuff is going on in town. I want to support and promote cool art, cool events, and cool lifestyles right here in our little town/city. I don’t know what else to do with myself.

We can do it together.

The birds word on art: Marcellus Hall

  here is a new one. I had never heard of this guy before. I look in my phone and I see a text message I sent to my self with his name in it. I have no recollection of ever seeing this work nor do I remember sending myself that text. So any-who here is a recent discovery,  I haven't quite  digested him either so I don't have any sort of real review other than a first impression.

However I will say that I didn't pay much attention to detail during looking at his few illustrations because I was so captivated by a atmospheric sense of place within his work. each drawing feels like a tiny and honestly depicted vignette of whatever Marcellus was doing at that time. The lines are loose and fast, and the colors are just the same. this all leads up to a very gestural and photographic quality to his linework. as I said I haven't really given him a fair shake yet but I really enjoy what I have seen thus far. check him out.

For all the Animal Crossing fans out there, here's a jam I made using only AC samples. . .it's absurd and just plain dorky enough that I'm definitely calling this one a 'one-off' hahahah. . .
